For a guy who lies when he says he doesn’t take money from Big Business and lobbyists, and has raised more than $200,000,000 from “the little guy,” Barack Obama surely has some very interesting friends bundling money for him. It’s nearly overwhelming. So I thought I would do this in a kind of series and start with Bundler Frank Clark.
As you can see here, Clark is known has been known as a Lobbyist for Commonwealth Edison. He also has bundled $200,000 in contributions for Barack Obama’s campaign. Now that by itself would be interesting, but it also seems that Clark is yet another one of those people with a politically incestuous Chicago trail.
Clark is currently CEO of Commonwealth Edison. If that doesn’t ring a bell for you, Commonwealth Edison is the same company that boasts the well-connected Thomas Ayers as its former CEO. Mr. Ayers also served as Chair of the Board of Trustees of Commonwealth Edison after his tenure as CEO, so you can easily imagine he had a hand in selecting Mr. Clark as CEO.
As a relevant side note, it seems that Mr. Thomas Ayers, who died last year at the age of 92, was also a friend of the infamous famous Mayor Richard J. Daley Sr. in the 60s. According the the blog of a former member of the 1960s SDS, “He was always a man pulled between his role as a representative of big business and advisor to the Daley machine, and his basic values of equity and fairness…“.
As an additional side note, given the longstanding relationship between the Ayers family and the Daley family, it is suddenly more than understandable why the current Mayor Daley would speak out in defense of Bill Ayers when his terrorist activities resurfaced as pertinent to Barack Obama and their ongoing friendship. It also certainly helps to punctuate why hanging out with the connected Bill Ayers would be key to an ambitious Chicago politican who wants to Pass-Go-And-Collect-$200 in a hurry– and get to the Oval Office by skipping as many steps as possible. Look how well things worked out for Barack with Commonwealth Edison to the tune of $200,000!
Back to Mr. Clark, and in keeping with the small, politically incestuous world of Chicago, this successor to Mr. Thomas Ayer’s Commonwealth throne is also a Corporate Officer of Exelon. In case Exelon doesn’t ring a bell, they are also one of Barack Obama’s top 10 contributors.
Loveable, honest Barack Obama promised he would take care of the unreported nuclear leak problem and sponsored a bill to make it mandatory for Exelon to notify living things around them if they ever had another incident. The problem is, by the time the bill got passed, “mandatory” became “voluntary“. The new bill removed all language mandating prompt reporting and simply offered guidance to regulators, whom it charged with addressing the issue of unreported leaks.
So now all of Obama’s consituents who live near Exelon can rest easily knowing that nothing has changed. But it has worked out really well for Barack Obama–to the tune of $200,000 in bundled contributions from Frank Clark.

"This is not culture. This is not custom. This is criminal."
If Obama gets the nomination, his chain of fools will be ponderously long, indeed… as well as the Republicans’ dream-come-true campaign fodder.
Sigh.
See you’re in full form uppity. So lucid you point out father/son connections and how bo supporters epitomize support of co-dependent relations with entitlement attitudes.
About Daley: Seems many don’t know of obscure true reports that IL voters are pushing a drive for a bill to recall vote the previously well liked IL Gov who has mucho Rezko $$$ like bo.
Super Delegates should know about this and get the implications. Don’t believe IL (my home state) is full of bo fans anymore. If they want to recall gov, what does that say for IL support of bo?
Re Daley Jr. I was poitical activist who helped manage campaign for successful Independent Dem against Daley Sr. machine. Don’t like corruption but as Chicago native do respect o/ways the city has been exceptionally well run (cleaner, less crime, more development of environment than many)>
Knowing Chi-town politics pretty well, here is my take on Daley: he is in a real fix. Crime rate has been soaring over last month, out of nowwhere. Peaceful Chicago majority is up in arms over this.
If you think Recreate 68 is only threatening the convention think again. Radicals against Daily (one a big time AA Obama supporter) are suddenly blaming the city – and Daley- for everything. Building a movement to throw him out. If that doesn’t sound like a bad thing, consider the kind of candidate & administration the Black Panther types would want.
I feel they’ve got Daley very scared for not just himself, but the city. Pretty sure there are rampant threats, behind the scenes, were he to appear to waiver in bo support. .. also Chicago has a lot of pride and focus on bo’s dirt is ruining the city’s reputation nationwide.
Believe the majority of Chicagoans, including Daley, now wish obama never landed in our home town. Suspect a financial drive, to pay a bo relocation to Kenya (you know, the place he wants his murderous cousin to run) would be very generously funded by the citizens of my home town.
Wow Unity, that was some REALLY interesting stuff. Can you help me sniff around for links?
Delilah, honey, take heart. My grandmother used to say that a lie could run half way around the world while the truth is still tying its sneakers. But in the end, those sneakers get moving!
Yikes!!! EXcellent post! The connections just keep getting more and more sticky. Rush Limbaugh claims his Operation Chaos is going well and his “operatives” are voting for Hillary this go-round, so maybe Hill can pull off a major upset in N.C. tonight. Hey, I’ll take it however we can get it. Rush under-estimates the fact that she can still get the nomination and whoop John McCain’s ass in the Fall.
Sugar, I am not so sure that’s all of it. As you know, the Republicans aren’t all excited about McCain. I think they can live with Hillary a whole lot more than they can live with the thought Of Obama and Pakistan running America.
uppity, what links do you want me to sniff for? I mentioned several items. ..let me know.
sister I was referring to the Daley recall.
I’m rubbing my hands together here.
No matter what happens, we will continue on exposing Barack Obama for the sack of crap he is.
Correction of misunderstanding: the IL voter push is for a bill in State House to enable VOTER RECALL of the Governor, who is about equally connected to Rezko as obama is.
Has gotten only local press there so far. Thought was: if it is known to Super Delegates, etc that’s how IL voters are feeling about the Gov connected to Rezko, what does that say about the pres candidate, similar but even closer to Rezko corruption?
Also, the move I’ve heard anti-Daley is NOT one we would want. it is for a Mayoral candidate who is more aligned with obama, black panthers, other far leftists (like Wright) who also pose as black ministers.
