Stephanie Tubbs Jones Is No Longer With Us

She left this world at 6:12 PM.

As I feared, it was an aneurysm.  She never regained conciousness and was on life support according to CBS. Fox just announced her death.

She was 58 years old. What a loss.

  1. She was truly terrific. Especially loved her feisty support of Hillary. That is a terrible loss.

  2. Truly awful.

I’m sure barky will release a statement about himself.

My condolences to her family and friends.

  3. “I’m sure barky will release a statement about himself.”

    Isn’t that the truth!

Now FOX is retracting. On life support.

  4. devastating….. truly devastating…

  5. My prayers go out to her family; she was a terrific gutsy lady. What a loss…

  6. She was the first one I saw on the State of the Black Union program several months ago who told the audience exactly how the Obama supporters, including Jesse Jackson, Jr., were harassing the Hillary Clinton supporters in the Congressional Black Caucus. (CBC) She said those who were up for re-election were threatened that the Obama camp would provide funding to their opponents to make sure they were defeated. It was the first time I heard about the negative things the Obama supporters were doing. Some of the CBC reportedly received death treats. Of course, because Tavis Smiley made a comment implying that Obama should have made time to attend the State of the Black Union program, he also received death threats…as well as his brother and his MOTHER. Hillary Clinton did make time to attend and speak at the State of the Black Union. I guess she was “playing the race card”.

  7. Aww. Darn.

  8. Uppity Woman, watch this…Obama and his folks are so damn sneaky. Always sneaking around…always lying…sneaky sneaky..

  9. Oh Kat. Yum Yum.

  10. Let’ see if we’ve got it right. Obama’s spokesperson said, “All the tickerts are free, except for the ones that are being sold.” Right. Got it. Glad we cleared that up.

  11. she will be missed greatly! Very sad news.

  12. I really admired the courage Stephanie Tubb-Jones showed throughout the primary. I feel horrible for her family and for the Clintons who have now suffered the loss of two very close friends in a week–the Arkansas DNC chair and now Ms.Tubb-Jones.

  13. I am bitter.

  14. My prayers go out ot Ms. Tubb-Jones’ family. My Dad passed away from a brain anueryism and I know how gut wrenching it is when the doctors have to give that news to the family.
Eternal rest grant unto her and may perpetual light shine upon her.

  15. I am so sad to hear this – awful to hear. My prayers for her family, friends and constituents. She was a great Congresswoman, and was always glad to watch her campaign and speak on behalf of her friend, Hillary. So much loss for the Clintons to lose these friends. I hope a moment of remembrance and tribute is given to them at the convention.

  16. What a sad day this is!! Stephenie Tubbs Jones was one of
the great ones. Her warm, dynamic personality will be missed.
Her support of Hillary Clinton in spite of pressures I’m sure she
felt to support her African American colleague was courageous
and heartfelt. Thank you !! Thank you!!

  17. BARB,

    Thank you for your testament.

~ may her light shine upon us.

  20. Proud MM,
    Amen!

  21. Have others noticed this undercurrent to the toxicity of this year’s campaign. Stop to think about it, every week or 2 – another death or terminal disease or murder or career crushing scandal, etc.

obama is toxic tainting all – whether directly or indirectly.

  22. Crushing news – can scarcely believe it. Tubbs-Jones was one of the greats. Little dog nancy could take a page out of her book on courage. Why do mediocrities thrive and stick around to torment us, while the good ones depart prematurely.

  23. Absolutely the saddest. What a huge loss. There goes a gifted cornerstone of the former Democratic Party. She will be missed terribly.
Prayers to her family and friends.
