The Committees for Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS) is, after Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and Communist Party USA (CPUSA), the third largest most influential marxist group in the USA. Formed in 1992 from a large split in the CPUSA, CCDS is influential in Chicago, New York, California and some other centres in the union movement and in black communities.
All three organisations are backing Barack Obama in the coming US election. The CPUSA is largely using its own resources in the unions and the social movements while DSA and CCDS (which have a large cross membership) are working closely together, particularly through Progressives for Obama.
Chicago CCDS has long supported Barack Obama.
CCDS National Committee member Carl Davidson worked with Obama in the New Party [See Obama-file 4 Obama Was Endorsed by Far Left "New Party"] in the mid/late ’90s and helped organise the famous 2002 peace rally [See Obama-file 5 Barack Obama Courted Chicago Marxists, Peace Activists] where Obama first came out strongly against the Iraq war.
CCDS Advisory Board member Timuel Black [Professor Emeritus, City College of Chicago] is a long term friend and supporter of the Senator from Illinois. Timuel Black’s wife Zenobia Johnson-Black [a Retired Chicago Housing Authority Official] is one several CCDS linked endorsers of the Progressives for Obama website.
Other long term Obama supporters such as Barbara Lee [See Obama-file 6 Bolshevik Barbara Bolsters Obama] and Danny K. Davis [See Obama file 22 Barack Obama, Danny K Davis and the Marxist New Party] also have CCDS connections. [Also see Obama-file 15 Socialist Octagenarians for Barack.]
CCDS revealed just how committed they are to an Obama presidency in this recent statement.

Off topic – my apologies. There are just too many topics and comments to find the original post that I am commenting on.
The other day I stated that besides posting here and preaching to the choir, I also go to the enemies sites and post there. I reported that I attempted to post on the Messiah’s site and my post vanished into thin air. I also posted that I actually used my real name (which is just a bit longer than my name here, which is what everyone calls me, but not the name I use on any other site) and used my real email address (which I use here but hardly anywhere else),
Anyway, I predicted that although my post vanished, I would most likely get an email from Howard Dean thanking me and asking for money. I am proud to say I am a damn psychic!!!! It happened today!!! He emailed me and thanked me and asked for $$$$$$

Uppity, I don’t think obama has a christian bone in his body. For a look at how the rest of the world is viewing our elections this year I went to the BBC and The Guardian in the UK. You wouldn’t believe how hyped up they are for Obama and trashing Palin and McCain. I guess its too much to ask to have a fair election and fair news coverage even overseas. I couldn’t check out the other countries after reading the above two papers.
So true, JP49, the European press (especially the Beeb) is completely besotted with Barky and insultingly dismissive of Palin. This doesn’t really bother me because Middle America tends to find European support for our candidates off-putting to near fatal. I’ve reached the point where I tend not to evaluate issues or events other than for thir effect on Barky’s chances. So, I’m happy for the MSM to engage in sexist attacks on Palin becausas they should backfire and redound to her benefit.
Let him run for Prez of the E.U. then…they want him, hey, they can have him!
