Biden: Be Patriotic! Give Us More Money to Redistribute! Yayyyy Socialism!

Karl Marx and Michelle Obama say, GIVE US YOUR GODDAMNED PIE! Just because you busted your ass to get where you are is no reason not to share it with somebody who’s sitting on his ass! Gotta pay for those mortgages on those houses Fanne Mae and ACORN got for people with credit ratings of zero! Get with it! They didn’t pay off Mr. Dodd and Mr. Obama to look the other way for nothing you know!

And don’t forget to save money that you earn so that you can give what little interest you get to Joe and Barack too! Be a patriot! It’s the Socialist  American Way!

Here’s the guy who gave less than $400 to charity last year telling you  to be generous!

  2. My fairly non-political hubby who would have voted Clinton told me this morning he is voting McCain.

It’s all about the taxes and TRUST for him. He said that the only Democrat he would have trusted with his pocketbook was a Clinton, because he believed that if she raised his taxes, she would have done so prudently, and gotten this country some real benefits from it. He would be willing to (patriotically) pay more under those circumstances.

But the rest of the Dems? He says not a one of them has demonstrated any ability to handle money, or to achieve a goddamn thing with the extra money they are always whining he ought to give them.

He doesn’t think the McCain will do much either, but for him the choice is:

    a) Take my money and do a crappy job, or
    b) Leave my money alone and do a crappy job.

He’s going with (b), and hoping Hillary runs in 2012.

  3. So….what credit card Joe is saying is that the solution for those who lost their 401K’s will be given the opportunity to get a job building bridges and infrastructure? The creation of new jobs is what is supposed to help those who lost their homes? What about the ones who already have jobs and lost their homes? Do they get to have TWO jobs? But wait…if t hey make more money, then Obama/Biden will take more of it from their taxes. So…who wins in this deal? Oh yeah….Obama’s friends from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac…and Joe Biden’s credit card buddies. Gee…ain’t socialism fun?

  4. Uppity,

Hitler did a wonderful job rebounding the German economy (no snark, it’s true) with socialism. Of course the problem with that is where do you create new jobs in an economy that’s kaput? Oh yeah; you’ll need plenty of people in that new civilian police force to guard all of us that will end up in concentration camps (women, whites, middle class, Jews, Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, gays, Appalachia, etc. – the list has gotten too long to repeat in full).

Bottom line: Socialism is good for the economy (read corporate income, make the rich richer), bad for human beings.

  5. WM, you know very well that if you are responsible enough to save money for your future, you are already getting pennies in return. If you bought stocks, you lost money again this week. I don’t see my government offering to share in my LOSSES, just my GAINS!

We both know that there are plenty of people who saved for their retirement. Now these thieves want what little gains you made, if any. We both know that there are plenty of people who sacrifice to pay off loans for their kids’ education. These are not rich people. They are people who understand responsbility! They are people who live in homes they can afford, not homes they can’t afford.

Now those paltry capital gains are to go to those who didn’t behave responsibility.. We are supporting people who were as greedy as those subprime lenders, people living off of credit. People who cry the blues while watching that plasma TV they charged and can’t pay for. People who got loans for homes they damn well knew they couldn’t pay for. They played as big a part in bringing this country down as anybody. Now they want the rest of us who sacrificed “things” to be secure. A home is NOT a right. It is something you are supposed to work for and strive for ON YOUR OWN. People with ZERO credit don’t have it for no reason at all.

There are programs all over America that give homes to people who not only can’t afford the morgages but they can’t afford to maintain the house. Always the property owners get it in the neck and have to pay for this nonsense.

This is not the American Dream. This is the Socialist redistribution of wealth—and it’s not just about the rich either. The rest of us will have earnings taken from us. The only people who won’t get hurt are the Takers.

  6. No Mary Ellen. The middle class will be milked some more so that THEY can get two jobs to make ends meet. The people who want to sit on their asses and whine can just sit there and get them some of that pie. This is bullshit. It looks like bullshit. It smells like bullshit and if Barack Obama becomes president, those of us who have learned to take care of ourselves will be stepping in that bullshit. The idea is to make us poor and keep us poor. Especially those rich folks who took their own risks to get where they are. There are plenty of well to do people in America who didn’t get their money being CEOs of corporations with great severance deals. Those people are laughing all the way to the bank. It’s the ones who really learned to earn (and WORK!) their way to success who will get screwed. And that is NOT the American Way.

  7. Uppity – I have a book title re: Oblowme & Company

    The AUDACITY of assholes!

You and the Lady Lynn FDR give me hope for responsible change in the future when John McCain is President.

Credit Card Joe & MEEEEEchelle are clueless about how most Americans live and EARN a lving.

MEEEEEchelle has always been a parasite and Credit Card Joe has been a do nothing in DC for 36 self-serving corporate giveaway years.

How the hell did Credit Card Joe and his mommy afford to buy palatial estates anyway?!!!

We already know how the Oblowmes should be in the pokey for their mansion deal with Rezko/ Auchi.

If this is how the Dem leadership acts, color me Indy.

Not a damn Dem dime more from me.

“Just say NO to Dem” audacious assholes.

  8. Barky left Balden alone so long, he didn’t know joe got a copy of the 1984 presidential playbook. The one where Mondale said he’d raise everyone’s taxes. It does my heart good to know there are fiscally responsible Democrats out there, especially since the Republicans crapped out on fiscal responsibilty some time around Bush #1.

If the government wants to buy paper on worthless houses, they should do something with them. Make bad mortgage holders take low-imcome family in as borders. Show them how they can “sacrifice” for the economy.
Maybe everyone can be entered into a house lottery. 300 million Americans, 5 million questionable mortgages. We all have a 1 in 60 chance of getting a free home. I like those odds. And if I win one, I’ll rent it out. Because you get your money every month or the jerk gets evicted. The way it should be.

  9. P4, BOTH parties robbed us blind. No fiscal responsibility to our money whatsoever. We have been screwed left AND right. One side takes our money and gives it to corporations who screw us–and the other side gives our money to the poor, most of whom wouldn’t be The Poor if somebody would stop feeding them just enough of our money to keep them from having any ambition.

Let me tell you P4. If you or I defaulted on our mortgages we would be screwed. This isn’t about helping responsible people and companies. This is about letting them get away with robbery.

  10. UW as I’ve said before I’m a right leaning woman but if you represent the “old” Democrats on taxes and the economy then I might have been missing something along the way. . .or maybe our differences were not all that I once thought. In any event, I appreciate your point of view. Perhaps we will see a full realignment of our parties when all is said and done.

  11. Wolverine. I am a dead center moderate. I don’t belong in either of today’s parties as they are both sullied by extreme left and extreme right. Just a few short decades ago, both parties had more sense. They didn’t build trillions in debt and owe it all to china.

  12. What if even this deal doesn’t stop the bleeding? I used to think the rich were in a conspiracy to get richer (you know, an informal one, like indexed derivatives that basically funneled money into these companies by computer), but now I think NEITHER side has a clue what to do! THAT is scary–no one is even smart enough to conspire. Are we all going to be wishing we had gold buried in the back yard? Out here in AZ, in our downscale area, many people live in the cash economy–no bank accts, cash paychecks, get unemployment on debit cards (yes, they give you money on a card now), even pay by usage into a meter box for electricity. Who’s stupid now?

  13. UW, I’ve never had to register to vote as a member of either party and never belonged to any party. Over the years, I have leaned right based on my sense of personal responsibility and rejection of social engineering.

  14. If the rich get richer, more power to them. I just don’t want them to do it on tax money.

Frankly, I think we should let this play out and not bail anybody out, no companies and no individuals. You don’t learn a lesson if daddy takes care of your mistakes all the time.

  15. >Frankly, I think we should let this play out and not bail anybody out, no companies and no individuals. You don’t learn a lesson if daddy takes care of your mistakes all the time.

    Amen to that!

This is one of those times where I wish the country could have a referendum to fire every single politician and bureaucrat in the federal government, so we could start over from scratch. Both parties have contributed to this current economic disaster, and neither deserves to get away with it.

I take some comfort in the fact that McCain was one of the few who warned about this impending crisis back in 2005, but it means nothing if A) He loses the election or B) He wins, and Congress fights him tooth and nail on reform in favor of their cronyism and socialist tendencies.

Things are looking pretty dark for the US’ economic health at the moment, and our professional political class looks increasingly like they’re the least qualified people in the world to deal with it.

  16. I fully encourage everyone to vote for whomever their heart desires but anyone who thinks that Barack Obama isn’t going to expand government dramatically and raise taxes is dining out on a Denial Sandwich.

P.S. Today is my birthday. I’m still in my early 40’s but just barely. So birthdays aren’t quite as special as when I was, say 14! But one treat (for me anyway) is that I get to appear on a national Canadian radio program today: 1:30pm PDT – http://cknw.com And if given the opportunity, I’m going to mention Biden’s comment. All Canadians who have paid endlessly high income taxes for years will groan and then get very, very angry that any politician dare say that paying more taxes is patriotic.

  17. Ultimately, America’s prospects are tied in with the rest of the world. The US has a huge trade imbalance with China and a few others. If we go down, China goes down with us. China owns us, but they’re the mortgage owner. If we can’t buy the crap they sell us, China is left with a lot of worthless paper and no economy.

  18. “China owns us” – How true is this statement? I’d love to see some references to the actual financial figures.

  19. Interesting comment on capitalism vs. socialism here. The audio clip referred to can be found here.

  20. As of December 31, 2006, 52% of our national debt was owned by other nations. so, in 2008, given our economy and the trillions added to the budget, do you think that percentage is higher now or lower? I can’t remember where i read it, but Japan, China and Saudi are the preponderance of that debt paper.

  21. I agree with this comment – “This is not the American Dream. This is the Socialist redistribution of wealth—and it’s not just about the rich either. The rest of us will have earnings taken from us. The only people who won’t get hurt are the Takers.”

I am still livid from when I saw this Biden clip the day before yesterday while sitting at the bank!

Biden says: “This isn’t pie in the sky.”
I say: “Right. And the only ones that will be getting our hard-earned pie are people like him!”

Biden says: “We wanna TAKE money and put it back in the pocket of middle-class people.”
I say: “You’ve gone completely insane!”

Biden says: “It’s time to be patriotic.”
I say: “What planet did you just drop in from? The rest of us have been patriotically paying all our taxes ALL ALONG for all these years while you’ve lived high on the hog!”

Biden says: “It’s time to jump in.”
I say: “See previous comment, you jerk!”

Biden says: “It’s time to be part of the deal.”
I say: “See previous two comments, and we don’t like your freaking DEAL.”

Biden says : “It’s time to help get America out of the rut.”
I say: “Well, how about we start first by firing YOUR ARSE!”

And I say “Why are we now being punished for trying to live that American Dream we keep hearing about?” We’ve worked hard and we’re taxed to death!
We’ve faithfully paid our sky-high taxes for years and years – and now they want to STEAL even more from us and give it to others who want to sit on their arse and collect.

    NO WAY.

    Biden is a thieving moron.

  22. lagal –

Biden’s a thieving moron in a palatial estate.

Maybe when his Mom passes, her palatial estate can be converted into a debtors prison – like in Dickens.

That should make old Credit Card Joe deliriously happy.

  23. Does anyone know if Biden EVER practiced law or even passed the Bar exam?

How does a Senator get a palatial estate on a Senator’s salary?

  24. Since Balden is the VP, maybe Sarah Palin could narrate the next ad, showing clips of him in that interview and her explaining how she cut taxes and grew jobs.
