He got the focus on those two idiots Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, WHO HAD ALL INTENTIONS of bulldozing Republicans forward when it’s beneficial to their abs! Gosh, speaking of retirement!!!! Nance, please go to the beach with Obama! JMc was “energy efficient” — by virtue of his ACTIONS, that is, where he placed himself, forced Dems and Repubs attention on the issue at hand! The issue at hand was not who is going to be better “prepped” for Miss. The issue of the day YESTERDAY was the economy — you know, Bo’s strategic strength, which he casually and arrogantly ignored — except by phone, yeah, right. Everybody can talk on cell phones all at once! I guess Blah Blah’s abs can add and subtract better when they’re stretched. He probably could lay out in the sun and hold his cell phone with his ABS — who knows!

He has run roughshod over the democratic party, and the DNC has let him.
I believe if you don’t speak out against something, you are condoning it, our party has condoned a lot this year, and millions and millions of us are saying:

I sometimes put it on MSNBO with Shuster. This time, it was worth it. Nicolle Wallace didn’t give an inch today. Shuster asked her to respong to a McCain quote and then smarmily said “we can play it if you want.” So she told them to play it. They spent 3 minutes finding the clip. And when he quoted a “former McCain advisor” she flat out told him she had never heard of the guy. I think Obamoids were given a false sense of security and in phase 2 over the next 30 days, McCain is going to come down like the hand of God.
Pelosi started a press conference, Fox cut into Barney Frank’s blabbering and defending himself…..she will not cut capital gains taxes but is very proud of the work they have accomplished (except for yesterday, she said, when there was major distraction).
I have some elderly friends that are watching this crisis and are petrified…..one even cashed out his 401k’s, money he and his wife will live on, because he is so afraid of the Dems. I am so angry at the callousness of these people and their posturing. These are people’s lives they are playing with. Watching pelosi and frank act on their stage made me steam.

I do not trust Obama and his DNC enablers, period. I am not crazy about the Repubs either, but at least they are more likely to leave my damn wallet alone. I would trust Bill’s hand in my wallet, because he would do some good. I would trust Hill’s hand in my wallet, because she would do some good, without robbing me blind. But the rest of those DNC clowns can go suck an egg. They are in it for themselves, not us. Here are my choices this year:
a) A party who wants to brutally screw me (the Repubs)
b) A party who wants to brutally screw me, and also expects me to pick up the tab for dinner beforehand and the taxi after. (the Dems)
Sorry, but option (a) is a much better deal to this taxpayer.

The Democrats leading Congress are cowards. They already let the drilling ban expire because they lost the will to fight it due to the American people. Pelosi just said there are no longer enough Dems to pass it alone. Rush Limbaugh pointed out that the breakdown in talks yesterday is due solely to Barky opening his mouth and attacking the Republicans during a compromise session, followed by Paulson trying to swear everyone to secrecy.
The fiscal conservatives should stick to their guns. Keep the money our of ACORN and LaRaza’s hands. Make Wall Street pay for an insurance plan and make Pelosi take back her words and pass a Capital Gains cut just because they can.

Capital gains increase will hurt the middle class. People with savings who already get crap for interest have to give it to the government, why save? Why would the small investor bother? We aren’t talking about millionaires. We are talking about people investing a little for kids’ college, retirement, etc.
I hate to speculate, but if we WERE lucky enough to make a profit on this trillion dollar GAMBLE, what would THEY do with the money? I think it should go to INFRASTUCTURE in the country. Our infrastructure is crumbling everywhere. But I could see them all fighting over it. Mine! no! Mine!
God forbid it should be rebated to every man, woman and child in the country.

UW, I’m a Republican but I’ve voted for Conservatie candidates. I probably would have voted for Lieberman in 2004 if he were the nominee.
As far as CEO pay, since this bailout is a potential handout, whatever company signs up for it has to live with whichever conditions that Congress tells them, which means CEO pay is very much on the table to me. Personally, I think those restrictions could potentially dissuade some CEOs from adopting the plan.
From a business perspective, I don’t see how high pay for execs helps any of these companies and people should look at that when they invest their money.
P I’ve had some very well paying jobs, but with them, I was expected to take responsibility for my own mistakes.
I think GOOD CEOs are worth big bucks, but not to the point of ludicrous. I think the closer to ludicrous the pay gets, the more responsibility for screw ups CEOs should take. A company going down on your watch tells me you aren’t worth shit. lol.

Barky’s not really gaining support, the polling organizations are oversampling Democrats and underspampling Independents. If a poll taker just called 1000 random people, McCain would be ahead by 3 points.

P4P I have read that and I am hoping that is true. I am also told by many of my older friends…ppl who lived through the depression (aren’t many left) that they absolutely are terrified of 0bama. I don’t think they are polling at the retirement homes.
There is nothing wrong with accountability on the part of CEOs. I also see that many buy enormous amounts of stock in their companies which leaves them a bit less fortunate under the present circumstances.
I hope McCain does well on this.

Sigh … As a fellow Illinoisian, I, too, am unfortunate enough to be living in Obama’s “home” state (but where is he actually from again?). Gratefully, even though I’m a registered Dem., I had nothing to do with electing him in ‘04 because I was living and registered in PA at the time (and getting rid of nut-job Rick Santorum). I’m now saddened that my vote won’t count in IL, however. Obama (I prefer to call him The Mole) and his crooked Chicago-machine connections have this thing locked up here. I sure wish I was still in PA so that I could really make a difference in a battleground state.
That said, I’ve been asking a lot of Mole supporters here in IL what, exactly, he has done since they elected him. None can really come up with concrete answers, but somehow, they’re convinced that he’s going to do something as President. What? If he hasn’t done what he’s *already* been elected to do, then why would he start any time soon? ARGH, the gullibility of the fools who love The Mole for absolutely no reason!!!
