In keeping with their habit of shoving their fingers in their ears and humming a lot when they aren’t hearing what they want, the House of Representatives is limiting emails from their constituents.
No kidding. Right here in the USA. If anybody has any doubt left that these people don’t give a rat’s butt about the people they are supposed to represent, this should cure you.
The House is limiting e-mails from the public to prevent its websites from crashing due to the enormous amount of mail being submitted on the financial bailout bill.
As a result, some constituents may get a ‘try back at a later time’ response if they use the House website to e-mail their lawmakers about the bill defeated in the House on Monday in a 205-228 vote.
No kidding. You can’t make this shit up. They can spend a trillion bailing out their contributors from wall street and people who want homes for free, but they can’t afford a server that will handle emails from their constituents.
Do you think there is at least one person in that House that has figured out that the reason they are getting enough emails to bring their server down is that their constituents DO. NOT. WANT. THIS. BILL????? Do you suppose at least one of them has figured out that they work for us, not the other way around?
Nah. That would ruin it for these self-serving arrogant asses. They are accustomed to being left alone so they can do whatever the hell they want. This is just plain annoying to them.
When you go into work tomorrow, leave a message to your boss and tell him to leave you alone and you don’t want to hear from him. Tell him he’s bothering you too much and if he needs you to try back at a later time.
See how well that works out for you.

"This is not culture. This is not custom. This is criminal."
Do you think someone could be sending spam emails or is the load of “vote no” emails greater now than before Monday’s vote?
Yeah — that’s right. But you can find your representative’s DC and local office phone numbers if you look around a bit on the web.
I called and left messages on both of her voicemails ‘expressing my extreme displeasure and my intention to vote for her opponent in the fall.’
Uppity — here’s a good one –

Sorry Uppity the 7 trillion they spent on TRS-80’s hasn’t depreciated enough for new servers.
I haven’t been able to get through via e-mail or phone. Perhaps a revolution will soon be our civic and democratic duty – since they are no longer desirous of carrying out the will of the people.
I think that they are sick and tired of my calls. I scream in two languages just so my dumbass rep gets it. I suppose next it will be picture mail.
Uppity, OT
Do you think Obama would feel ok about McCaskill being sent out of the countrry to learn another language? He’s all for that – right?
It worked with ROZ anyway…
Uppity,
Have you seen this story from The Hill?
http://preview.tinyurl.com/4ggvxm
The billionaire financier George Soros, a major Democratic financial backer, is floating his own rescue plan among Democratic lawmakers who are uncertain what to do in the wake of a surprise defeat of a proposed $700 billion rescue package proposed by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson.
Something has got to give!
Uppity–thanks for pointing out (for me) the most important fact in all of this: I’M THEIR BOSS. Not the other way around. Every last mf-ing one of them is a PUBLIC SERVANT. When my money is paying their salaries, they’re my employees. When they use my money to line their own pockets and subvert my business, they’re guilty of embezzling–which is a felony punishable by law. I’m mad as hell.
Its a long read but this is very interesting:

No trouble e-mailing my Congressman at his local office. Of course, I live in a Conservative district–you know, bitter Bible thumpers–served by a Repub Rep who voted against the bail-out, so here democracy and representative govt still exist.
BTW, I was notified today that the County Clerk received my voter (re)registration form. I am now officially a Repub. Up yours, Donna Brazile. You told me you didn’t need me anyway, right?
UW: Is the Uncle Sam “Shut Up” poster by Freedom Fairy?
On Monday I was trying to send an email to my representative and the website was extremely slow and kept crashing. After 2 hours of trying to send him an email, I picked up the phone and called his local office. Someone answered right away and I was able to give my opinion on the Bail Out idea.
By the way, the Senate website and email system was working perfectly fine on Monday, so I sent both my senators – Clinton and Schumer – my opinion on the Bail out.
P.S. I also sent an email on the bail out to the McCain campaign.
Buffalo,
I sent an e-mail to Chuckles the Clone, and it got returned. What e-mail addy were you using?
Mary – the “Shut Up” Sam poster is not mine! (drat!)
But it sure made me laugh!
FF
Also, can anyone post or put up an alternate link for the Soros Bailout Idea story. My computer NEVER lets me on tinyurl. It is blocked as a spy site and I will not change my settings.
thanks

I wrote both Senator Martinez (R) and Senator Nelson (D) of Florida and told them NO! NO! NO!
I told Nelson I was HORRIFIED at his support for Barky and that I would have to reconsider my vote for him if this support continued. Barky, the unqualified, lying, terrorist-and-criminal-laden Socialist would take this country into hell, and after Nelson’s AVID support of HRC and his work to get the FloriDUH votes counted, it was a sin that he would capitulate to the DNC and this thug. No reply from Nelson as yet.
I did hear back from Martinez (told HIM I was a REAL Democrat and that the Republicans were likely to gain my support this year BECAUSE of the racist and voter fraud policies of the DNC and Barky. Martinez, in part, replied with this:
“There must be accountability in any plan approved, and those who have given rise to this crisis need to be investigated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law for any wrong-doing that occurred.”
GO FOR IT MEL. You put Barky, Dodd, Frank and Franklin Raines in jail, I will vote Republican for life!
servers are running on Bill H1Bvisa Gates’ MICROCRAP & are managed by pro-Obama Indian contractors…

ROZ is busy busting kneecaps in MO. she’s the Truth Squad dominatrix.
hasn’t anyone learned yet? email EARLY & often.
i hope reading all the em’s hasn’t disturbed Wexler’s Rash Hashanah.
The “Untruth” squads now operating the email and phone lines….
The corrupt CBC, Acorn, Truth Squads…they are running the show now…and the children are singing…
Perhaps some of the things mentioned in this post further illustrate what’s behind Obama…great visual examples…. Calling Chairman Mao?
Obama’s Very Own Cultural Revolution

The “demoncrats” in the house and the senate are behaving the same as nobama. They evidently feel very sure of themselves ..just as nobama does. People…they need to have the rug pulled out from under them..someone allowed them to get too big for their britches. Hearings on…Dodd, Frank and Raines. Pelosi REMOVED. Barky…deported!!
Betty,
i hope the arrest of Frank, Dodd, & Raines is provisioned in the bill. put them in Abu Ghraib prison with Lynndie England & her boyfriend in charge.
Congress should either pin the friggin tail on the donkey or vote NO!
I just saw on CNN (I broke my MSM-fast, commercials were on!) that coming out of the White House is a 300 billion dollar homeowner relief fund…..wouldn’t that be going to ACORN and RAZA? I really want to see one example of how any of the billions we’ve spent with those groups has helped ANYONE!!!!! Just saw another video of S. Side of Chicago……what amazing work has been done there…..heh.
Must be to quiet the Dems so they won’t fuss over the Senate bill’s provisions the Reps will like….
ACORN and RAZA execs will be out stimulating the economy today, buying new homes and cars…..si, se puede….
Where is this new bill posted? I can’t find it on the web – why aren’t they letting us see and highlighting the new pieces of the bill. I think if Acorn gets one cent we should organize marches on their offices.
McCain is kicking ass on FOX. He is coming RIGHT OUT and saying what he intends to do. From regulating Fannie to drilling. No holds barred. REAL stuff. No dancing around taking one side here and then pandering someplace else.
Are you still watching? Obama is on and is saying that ALL of the provisions added to this new “rescue” were DEMANDED by HIM! Ohhhh, thank you Father Obama!
He also said to the “holdouts” in Congress to “do what is right, not what is popular” which I guess means to go against what your constituents say.
Watching Obama preach makes me WISH I could drink the Kool-Aid…….lots of shiny happy people jumping around screaming behind him, looks like so much fun, doesn’t it?
It would require a massive disconnect of my brain, but, you know, sacrifices are needed…..
In the real world, Barack Obama wouldn’t make Supervisor must less management. They would pu him somewhere where he couldn’t do much harm, give him a title and surround him with competent people to make sure he didn’t screw up.
FreedomFairy, here’s the link you wanted about Soros’ plan.
http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/soros-floats-alternative-bailout-plan-with-dems-2008-09-30.html
Did you see the January article posted by vbonnaire in one of the comments on another post here about how Soros has in the past been guilty of manipulating these types crises, then profiting from them?
Sadly no, UW. I have Managers or Mangaers like that. We have to make sure things go right. Of course, Barky’s cabinet will be filled with jackasses.
I went to: http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm to send emails to my 2 senators and filled out that email contact form.
Grail Guardian – here is Chuck’s email address listed on his automatic reply to my email: senator@schumer.senate.gov
This is my response letter to the McCain letter I got warning against “inaction” and urging support for the bail out –
Senator McCain,
With all due respect, I don’t think that anyone, especially those of us with retirement funds at stake, are advocating for inaction. We want the right action — action that makes the companies, the lenders and the individuals responsible for getting themselves, and by extension us, into this mess, to bear a larger share of the responsibility for getting themselves out of it. You could call it a Welfare to Work program for corporations and lenders. Nor do I think that the majority of voters feel it appropriate for us to be giving our tax dollars to organizations like ACORN.
I am disappointed in your campaign staff for not crafting more decisive, clear and potent messaging around the crucial differences between the original plan laid out by Paulson and Bush, and what the House Republicans have advocated.
I think that many, many Americans are instinctively confused by and suspicious of the seeming collusion of the extreme left with the Bush Administration. This Administration rolled out eerily similar sounding scare tactics, complete with lots of “evidence” supported by all of their “experts” leading up to the war with Iraq.
I don’t need to remind you that your opponent won his primary based on the near unanimous support of Congress on the basis of Bush’s “evidence.”
It could be that the public just doesn’t understand Paulson’s plan. Or it’s very possible that they smell a rat. There are a lot of us out here who tremble at the thought of being in debt to the likes of those represented by Paulson and Bernanke — members of The Trilateral Commission, and the Council on Foreign Relations for starters.
Those of us aware of these people’s need to bring the Middle East and Africa into alignment with their agenda have little doubt about which presidential candidate they feel could help them achieve their goals.
Senator McCain, I am a lifelong (state omitted here) Democrat who has left her tribe to support you. I have been very vocal in my support for you and as a result have been socially ostracized, called a “racist”, a “Paleocon” and a “Goose-Stepper.” My career in the (my occupation omitted) is threatened, as well as life-long friendships and some family relationships.
Am I minimizing the financial jeopardy that faces our nation and my own security? No. Undoubtedly, the situation is dire. I am, however, profoundly worried about how much more devastation the wrong action could bring.
Respectfully Yours –

Eight Bailout Questions
How many times over the last few days have we heard politicians, talking heads and other self-proclaimed “experts” tell us the reason the $700 billion bailout is so wildly unpopular is that we just don’t understand it. The economy is complicated. Just trust Congress, President Bush and his royal highness, Hank Paulson. They’ll fix it. Don’t worry about that $700 billion number. It only sounds high.
Well. If that’s the case – if we’re really too dumb to understand what’s happening – perhaps Congress can show us how much they know. To start, here are some questions I’d like answered.
1) Since the White House introduced the bailout last week, a number of alternative ideas have been proposed. For one, Michigan Republican Thaddeus McCotter wrote a 10-point plan that carries no cost to taxpayers. Others, like George Soros’, are significantly less expensive and, in his estimation, likelier to be effective. Can you explain why this bill is the best option, despite being the most expensive?
2) We’re told the bailout could actually turn a profit for taxpayers. Assuming that’s true, how can we be sure the money actually ends up back in taxpayers’ hands? For years the Social Security system took in more money than it paid out, yet instead of putting the surplus revenue toward future benefits, Congress snatched that extra cash for general expenditures. Likewise, Fannie and Freddie’s “profits,” were used for congressional pet projects. With this track record, how can we trust that this program will be any different?
3) The McCain campaign yesterday pointed out that the most recent housing bill gave the government nearly $1 trillion to purchase mortgages. If this is true, why exactly does Congress need to pass this monstrous legislation?
4) Does the latest version of this bill still “allow the government to purchase troubled assets from pension plans, local governments, and small banks that serve low- and middle-income families”? Americans are having a hard enough time swallowing the idea of a bailout for irresponsible home, car, and student lending. The notion that we’ll be on the hook for insolvent pension plans administered by awful, union-controlled lawmakers in cities like Detroit and New York is simply insane.
5) Does the bill’s preamble still proclaim that the law “provides authority to the treasury secretary to … ensure the economic well-being of Americans?” Does anyone know if there are limitations to this seemingly unbridled authority? Otherwise, what prevents the Treasury secretary from becoming a de-facto dictator? This strikes me as especially worth discussion.
6) Are there still no meaningful curtailments of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Does the bill contain anything even hinting at accountability?
7) What concrete assurances do taxpayers have that the turmoil’s provenance – Carter and Clinton-era social-engineering dictums that upended safe-lending practices in favor of higher minority home ownership – will forever be outlawed? How do we know taxpayers won’t be asked to finance another $700 billion bailout in 10 years? What has Congress learned from its past mistakes?
At the end of the day, we’re not being asked to bailout Wall St. so much as we are the Democratic Party. For $700 billion, answers to the questions above are the least Congress can do in return.
UPPITY 2012! Could YOU BE PELOSI? Please?
Uppity this mofofest is bad….after all that research I did for today guess what?

then — WTF? Wo are going under & O’Shamster has a jubilee! OMG.
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. OMG. O’Shamster/Soros/Pelosi make the last eight years pale by comparison.
http://www.newswithviews.com/Kincaid/cliff257.htm
that site above is probably very right wing so ignore that part if you are a Dem but? How much? When we are GOING UNDER HERE?
This is an IMBECILE, Uppity.
LOL Valentine, I would need fifty body guards. Hahahahaha.
Yeah like everybody in DC trusts SOROs right now. Like the FBI isn’t thinking about him with respect to selling short.
I see they ADDED 110 Billion to the bill. Can you imagine the nerve of these people. We were livid over 700 billion and we are going to be happy about 810 billion?
Oh that’s right…like P4 says, “We just don’t understand…..”
Me? What did I say?
Ah I thought you made fun of them saying we just don’t understand, probably over in another thread. If not, ignore me. I am just so pre-occupied waiting from my check from congress for my share of that bailout.
I may have said that. I sure believe it. By the way, on Hannity’s radio show, a caller mentioned Doobie Brothers lyrics in regards to what Obama voters believe. I think this pretty much sums it up:
What a Fool Believes by the Doobie Brothers
He came from somewhere back in her long ago
The sentimental fool dont see
Tryin hard to recreate
What had yet to be created once in her life
She musters a smile
For his nostalgic tale
Never coming near what he wanted to say
Only to realize
It never really was
She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As he rises to her apology
Anybody else would surely know
Hes watching her go
But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
And nothing at all keeps sending him…
Somewhere back in her long ago
Where he can still believe theres a place in her life
Someday, somewhere, she will return
She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As he rises to her apology
Anybody else would surely know
Hes watching her go
But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
Theres nothing at all
Oops. I only wanted to post the last 4 lines. UW, feel free to delete it if you want and I’ll do it correctly.
If we’re going to entertain a Soros plan, why not ask Putin while we’re at it? He has apparently amassed a personal fortune of 63 billion dollars now.
That way we can take one more step toward one world, one bank, one government.
