  1. Wow, you are quick Uppity. Thanks for the video. I am not sure why he grabbed the woman like that. I wonder what other claims he made in the debate are incorrect.

I thought Palin was amazing today. I was worried. I did not question her abilities, but whether or not the stress and scrutiny might have eroded some of her confidence. She proved she is a very strong person tonight.

  2. Agreed, and as Sarah mentioned during the debate, the lies will come out. What an invitation!

  3. I can’t wait for all the fact checking to come in. Rove called bullshit on 10 Biden claims already.

Champions step up to the plate and come through under pressure.
    Go Sarah!

  4. Karl Rove was on Fox news, he said Biden had told 10 outright lies, that can be rebuked with actual congressional records on several of the lies. And Biden made about 6 “false” statements that can be debated.

    Sarah Palin rocked!

  5. I used to LOVE Stevie Wonder. BO blew that all to hell.

  6. I swear Sarah Palin is reading the PUMA blogs.

  7. I wanna hear Mac and Sarah sing “Hit the road, Jack, and don’t cha come back no more, no more, no more, no more! Hit the road, Jack! And dontcha come back NOOOOOO MOOOORRREEE!!!”

  8. Fred Thompson also debunked a half a dozen of the lies off the top of his head immediately following the debate.

My favorite was when Joe said Obama never said he’d meet with Ahmadinejad without preconditions. What a loser! Even my Dad was calling Joe out during the debate, and he doesn’t follow national politics all that much.

Did anyone else notice how Joe kept on talking (seemingly endlessly) by Gwen Iffil kept cutting Sarah off? At least twice I heard him state that he had to cut it short because the light was flashing, but then he just kept talking.

  9. I just finished reading the debate open thread (I had to work during the debate) and am LMAO! You guys all rock! Thanks to all of you & especially Uppity! I love this website!

  10. Sarah may have turned in around tonight.

AOL, where most voters are frantic Obots, even said
Palin won 47-45 and FOX ahd her a runaway winner at 86-12, Biden was completely out of his element &
I agree with Uppity, seriously WANTED her (forget the
trophy wife, Joe?) Even the Socialist Cheerleading Network MSNBO said Biden narrowly won, despite blunders, scoring it 52% for Biden, CNN said Biden was clear winner and of course, the Washington University Obots in St Louis scored it 86-16 Biden. Typical. But, USA Today, (sitting down?) scored it an impressive 87-11 for Palin! ROFL. Take that, MSNBO!

BTW, as you requested, I was holding ya Uppity, until you jumped up and kissed the screen. Excited, huh?
You have quite a grip, lady!

MSM is scratching their heads= WTF happened to super debater Biden? Of course, tomorrow, they will pick her answers apart.

Karl Rove had the biggest grin I’ve ever seen on the guy. He was just beside himself.

This is a game-changer. Nobody is going to be worried about her being “a heartbeat away from the Pres now.” It would be the same with Biden, only the other way around, since he’s had the brain aneurism and the chance of those the ticking time bomb recurring (he should NOT be drinking) is a lot more risky than the prospect of McCain dying in office, given his family longevity history.

    Comments from others:

“The bottom line is that Gov. Palin looked like she belonged on the same stage with a 36-year Senate veteran. I think we saw the real Sarah Palin tonight.”
    – Whit Ayres, GOP pollster

“I thought Sarah Palin hit a grand slam to right field. It was an excellent debate. Joe Biden did a fine job, but Sarah Palin exceeded expectations by a 100 miles with her poise, her self-confidence and her ability to stay even with Joe Biden all the way. Republicans collectively had to have had an enormous sigh of relief.”
    – Steven Keller, George Washington University

“Republicans are going to be reassured by Palin’s performance. Democrats are going to be reassured by Biden’s performance. Largely what the debate will do is reinforce partisan preferences.”
    – Kathleen Hall Jamieson, head of Annenberg Public Policy Center at University of Pennsylvania

It was a very good night Uppity. I think Sarah might have saved McCain’s ass.

    Night to you and thanks.

  11. USA Today text voting by over 3 million people!

JUST IN….A POLL WITH OVER 3 MILLION PEOPLE VOTING BY TEXT….

SHOW PALIN WON THE DEBATE BY 87%
    TO BIDENS 11%….

THAT IS PRETTY MUCH A SLAUGHTER…..

    Yep, I’ll say……

  12. The VP Debate: She Won Fersure, Also
By Kathleen Parker in Washington Post.

Well, darnit all, if that dadgum girl (wink, wink) didn’t beat the tarnation out of Joe Biden. Maverick Sarah Palin fersure surpassed expectations and said everything under the sun, also. And Biden smiled and smiled.

Palin is a populist pro. She hit all the notes that resonate with non-elite Americans: family (Hi Mom and Dad!), “Can I call ya Joe?” personal responsibility, Wall Street greed, children with special needs. Her most effective technique was speaking directly to the American people and letting Joe know that’s what she was gonna do, doggonit.

Stylistically, she used the language of the people to great effect. And, you know what? If you want to know what the American people care about, you can go to a kid’s soccer game on Saturday and ask parents how they feel, and “I’ll betcha you’re going to hear some fear.”

I’ll have to go to the transcript to figure out what Palin actually said and try to figure out whose facts were right. But there’s no question: She won the debate on popularity. She did her homework, studied hard, and delivered with spunk. Still, I had the uneasy feeling throughout that I was witnessing a data dump from a very appealing droid. Even the winks and jaw juts seemed slightly programmed. And the question remains: Is she ready to be president should the need arise?

  13. Leaked letter written by the British Ambassador assessing Barky “Aloof” Obama.

He was just “finding his footing” when he was “diverted” into running for POTUS–something he had first talked doing before he was 30. That’s NOT a typo–he’s been angling to be The One since his twenties.

Just when I think this guy can’t get any scarier….

  14. I think Joe now realizes that if he were to become vice president, Obama will not have him in on every decision but have the permanant VP residence moved to an underground bunker in an undisclosed location.

Gov. Palin did a great job in a difficult situation. Hey McCain, let her loose and she’ll do what every ones been waiting on you to do, take down The Zero once and for all.

  15. I have felt all along that McCain will make a wonderful president. With Palin at his side…we will have one good..strong team working for us…no doubt about it. Wake up America..smell the coffee!!

  16. This will be the election where a Vice pic have a considerable influence to the voters…..

I want to see more of Palin, I want to see her Lead……And I think alot of people feel the same way……

soetorosoro’s team is out of steam……they can’t breathe….all they see and smell now is Palin, and I think she just showed her skills in gutting an animal(DNC)

  17. Betty :

the coffee smells great, especially after a great kill
    (peggy noonan)

  18. Just wondering if you guys have seen this:-

Kinda scary huh? Oh BTW, Sarah Palin did brilliantly lastnight. I sighed in relief as I saw her excelled thru out the debate. She didn’t disappoint me, cuz she talked to JB and the american people the way that she knew best. What a great, elegant, intelligent and “drop-dead gorgeous woman!!!. And she’s also down to earth person…but still managed to be more intelligent than any average folks. And that’s the difference. Her opinions on issues are closed to heart of general people, not only the american people but the world over. Do I make sense?

Oh Ms UW, I like her spectacles now…she looked just sooooo smashing. Dang you american would be so lucky to have her as your VP in White House. She’s a real deal. She defended John McCain like a friend-mavericked-daughter would have, more than once. What was suprising was she told the truth…right to the american people. You can’t fake that look, as she look to the camera. You saw her eyes? With the smile that is…soft. Dang I am so jealous!!!!!!

Did I say that??? Yeah I did. But i was worried before the debate. So I got up early.6.30am (my time zone), for fear I might miss the live debate streamed throughout the world of internet TV. If I couldn’t get Fox News, I have CNN standby too….But Fox News didn’t let me down.

I was worried so much before the debate, seeing how MSM and the Libs belittled her and her family. Distorted, twisted and right out lies spewed against her. I saw her came down the plane hours before the debate…she was thinner than when I saw her standing alone in St Paul, accepting the VP Nomination.

Tears welled my eyes. I cried inside, reading all the negative things MSM and Libs spewed against her these past weeks. But I also knew deep inside that there’s something I couldn’t quite put into words…resiliency of womanhood??? That she would be strong to stand her own. That she’d be truthful facing the american people.

Nope she didn’t disappoint McCain/Palin’s supporters, she didn’t disappoint the PUMAs, she didn’t disappoint those sitting “on the fence” and most all, she didn’t disappoint the american people during the VP debate last.. And I am not disappointed either. I was laughing my ass out at the end of the debate. What a breath of fresh Sarah was.

The one who were disappointed were / are the Obots, MSM (served them right) and Joe Biden. He looked like he didn’t know where he stood beside Sarah Palin lastnight…and so he flipped and then he flopped and then he gaffed and lied some more. But nothing new from Obama’s Dem Party.

Lighter note:…Barney Frank called O’ Reilly stupid. O’ Reilly called Barney bullshitter and a coward=)) over Freddie Mac & Fanny Mae issues. Oh BTW shouldn’t Barney retire from politics? He could join me fishing and bring along the grandkids too. hehehe… But the point is, Bill O’ Reilly told Barney what most american could not tell those Dem Pols.

It’s been a great night & morning here in S.E. Asia. Nevermind the stock market. It would take the next 10 years or so for the world economy to recover from this US Crisis. Ahhh…we just gonna be more resourceful. I think I will take a bus or Commuter train to work now, its cheaper and less greenhouse gas if i don’t drive so much…dang!!!

Ms UW, thank you for letting us all have “voice” on here.

  19. I share the above feelings, of course. When I listen to her, even though I too am fairly plucky, I feel like she could do anything. I would feel comfortable with her and Sen McCain over in DC taking care of business. I will never not be a political fanatic, but I could relax a day or two and let them do the job. I wouldn’t have to half-run the joint myself. To me, that is great. You guys know what I mean.

  20. Biden has the same personal trainer as Obama, the one who speciallzes in coaching flip-flops.

  21. Funny – a guy called in to a talk show today because he wanted to talk about “Sarah Palin and that guy she debated last night.”

Joe Biden, you are perceived as just some random guy!!!

  22. There’s Sarah Palin and those old guys.
