Well, score zero for one more nosy malicious internet snert.
The Son of Tennesee Rep Mike Kernell got indicted by a grand jury for his few hours of vicious fun during his effort to uncover some dirt on Sarah Palin for his Savior, Barack Obama. The fun part is he didn’t find anything but he sure is famous now.
David “Popcorn” Kernell could get a five year sentence and up to a $250,000 fine, but knowing politics, he will probably get community service, thus allowing him more free time to perfect his hacking skills for the future.
His daddy must be so proud.

"This is not culture. This is not custom. This is criminal."
[...] for what? 15 minutes of glory to NOT find anything out about Palin. David “Popcorn” Kernell could get a five year sentence and up to a $250,000 fine, but knowing politics, he will probably [...]
perhaps he’ll get a work release job with ACORN registering voters.
yes, they were using PRISONERS from halfway houses until August. no background checks req’d.
FOX report on TV just now.
But dont you know…. investigating ACORN is ( wait for it ) R*CIST
why?? you might ask, well because they said so …
A UT student breaking the law? This Vanderbilt man is shocked… hehehe
if he’d stolen snail mail it would be 5 yrs per item.
he’s old enough to know better. this will send a message to the other Obama synchophants AND keep him out of IT work where garbage like him does not belong.
he won’t do time.
misspolitico posted a poll going on at PBS on whether Palin is qualified to be VP in an odd place so I’ll put it here for her.
http://www.pbs.org/now/polls/poll-435.html
The Judge on Fox said he would get zippo, nadda, nothing because this was his first offense. His father should be investigated as well. This twit probably didn’t do this by himself and I smell another Obamabot saga going on.
OT: Did people see the article at No Quarter documenting Obama’s many year affiliartion with a Chicago Socialist Party. I think if the American public sees these documents Obama looses.
http://noquarterusa.net/blog/
Did you know that Barack Obama was affiliated with a leading national socialist party?
he should be charged with hate crimes against woman, also. this ranks right up there with exposing Valerie Plame. too much of this stuff goes on. if he’d broke into a male politician’s mail he’d have a kybd stuck up his arse tout suite. i wonder how feminist advocate Joe Biden feels about this.
Good point raGing.
Do hate crimes laws cover women? If not, they should.
Even if he doesn’t do time, it will still be a felony on his record, so it will have a long-term effect on his career, ability to vote, ability to get specific jobs, etc. My one and only nephew ended up with a felony on his record when he was a senior in high school; he was just joking around with some girls one day and pretended to threaten them with a art class sculpting knife. They don’t take kindly to this on high school campuses any more. It took him years and a lot of legal fees to get it reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor; he wanted to enlist in the military but had to wait because of that. This guy’s crime is a lot more serious because it’s a federal offense upon a vice-presidential candidate under protection by the Secret Service. You don’t mess with the Feds, so I’m sure he will pay a price for this, especially with the visibility it has received.
Deadenders –
Thanks for the link to the PBS poll re ifPalin is qualified to be VP.
I was looking for the PBS poll that asks the same thing about BO, whether he is qualified to be POTUS or not.
It’s okay for PBS to ask this about Palin, but not BO? Or either of the other 2 candidates?
IMO, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
Boomer, ability to Vote?? He just needs to go to VA and the Gov. Tim Kaine will fix that for him.
Take a look

looks like your right Dum Dum. no hate crime laws apply to gender. State laws for religion, nat origin, sexual pref.
Joe B. authored Violence Against Women Act of 2005, S. 1197′ stated that “VAWA is one of the most effective pieces of legislation enacted to end domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
unless Kernell is accused of stalking.
his intent seems like stalking to me.
“he will probably get community service”
Most likely he will become a community organizer. A perfect fit if you ask me.
raGing: yes, it does feel like STALKING – good point. And there should be a freakin penalty for posting Bristol’s cell number. The photos posted were creepy in the sense that it felt like I was seeing something private… Stalking indeed.
I know hacker, and popcorn is no hacker…
I hope that POS gets the maximum sentence.
Just because that reprobate didn’t “get anything on her” doesn’t make it less of a crime.
His motivation/intention was to cost her her job, her candidacy, her privacy – ANYTHING and EVERYTHING her could get on her to destroy her.
-So lets not minimize his actions just because his victim turned out to be a straight arrow.
A felony mark can really put an ugly damper on a career. It would however serve as a searing reminder to idle hands, to stay away from the devil.
That doof’s perp walk was pretty good. Gilfoyle says up to 5 years. Hope the judge is not a Clinton appointee.
Well it might come as a surprise to you deadgirl, but I know Hacker too and you are right. But to the average person it is hacking. You have to consider your audience.
Well, look at the most famous “hacker” movie “Wargames.” Broderick’s character used subterfuge to get passwords from unsuspecting people to get into the school’s computer system.
Hacking for the sake of hacking is more about using cyphers and key generators and backdoors and scanning ports. For those who are goal driven, (stealing, espionage) tricking someone into giving out a password was a tool of the trade. Is popcorn dumb? Definetely. Is he a hacker? Kinda.
It’s breaking and entry is what it is. he jiggled the doors and windows for the opening. The kid is a criminal pure and simple.
I was driving around Chicago today, listening to assorted talk radio much of the day. What galls me the most is how some people don’t think this punk kid deserves to have the book thrown at him if he is convicted.
Nothing scares me more than legal relativists, who believe that crime & punishment is only for those they disagree with. Aren’t we supposed to have a common set of laws that apply to everyone?!?
The kid has a long history of mental illness, including institutionalization. It would be politically incorrect to punish the poor soul. Prediction: Court ordered psychiatric evaluation. Period.
Isn’t that like when al-Qeada uses mentally disabled kids as suicide bombers and paying off the parents?
Like youthful suicide bombers: instead of having to explain awy their living child’s neurotic or psychotic behavior, the parents can brag about how their crazy dead child was a noble soul who died for Allah. A win-win situation for the exploiters who recruited the misfit and the parentsa who are rid of him/her. For the dead youth and his dead victims, lose-lose.
