I don’t know which was more disgusting – the video or the comments. I had seen the video previously at NQ, but no comments like this. God help us, and I mean that literaly, if this is what Barack Obama inspires this country is in deep trouble whether he is elected or not..
I have never in my life seen such vicious filth displayed in this country as that which has been touted in this election cycle. What has gotten loose in America?
The slams against HIllary Clinton were bad enough, but this slime that has been thrown at Sarah Palin is beyond the pale. I just hope she realizes that it is just a small lunatic fringe operating here and not the majority of the American people. Whether we agree with her politics or not, there is no excuse for this kind of egregious disrespect towards another human being.
At first they wanted to get her to “whine” about it to go against her comment from C-Span. Now they just want to kill her. This is not the change we need, and I sure as hell hope this isn’t the change we deserve.
I saw this video at Confluence earlier. I swear this video was the last straw for me. And now reading the comments to it here have only made me madder. These people are disgusting. I am embarrassed by them. To think I was a Dem since the day I first registered when I was 18 years old. I am beyond disgust at this point. The video was probably pulled because it was flagged by viewers who were disgusted by the violence and abuse it portrayed. When I saw it on Confluence I went to youtube and flagged it. If they get enough of those they’ll pull it until they can review it. The video should be sent to the Secret Service and Terry Tate should get a visit and be hauled away in cuffs.
Oh and to answer your question, which is more disgusting the video or the comments. The commenters were clearly getting off on the violence, so I guess I’d have to say the comments.

This upcoming generation has no respect for women at all, and the girls have no respect for themselves either. All the inroads previous generations made for them are wasted on them all.

P3, those six figure administrators salaries are a waste on people who wouldn’t even get an interview in the private sector. If you want the best educators, America will have to pay more and the cream of the crop will go for it. Then you rate them the same way the private sector does. I taught for a number of years when I was younger. I left teaching to earn more money in the private sector. You want the best, pay them or it will never happen. Teaching is a very tough job, don’t kid yourself unless you’ve done it. the problem is, schools are into everything else now and education is taking a back seat to social services and other services that have nothing to do with learning. And unions really don’t want to change how they do things either. The concept of charter schools is good on paper, but once again if they don’t attract the best, you get mediocrity there too. A teacher has to get an MA and in most cases have to be teaching for a decade to make as much as a plumber. If they got away for that tenure nonsense it would be helpful, but how do you evaluate a teacher when the variables include their students’ IQs and Achievement levels? You can’t, that’s how. Some kids are just a box of rocks. In my day, they quit school. today we have dumbed education down for them instead.

As you know, the unions make it impossible for teachers to be paid on merit, to be fired for incompetence or to retire without a huge benefit package. I’ve gone through my school budgets and ran the numbers (this is what I do on my blog). The median teacher income where I live is over twice the median income. Their benefits (100% medical and dental) cost the town about 60% above their salary. If there are layoffs, they must be informed six months in advanced. Teachers with the least seniority must go first and a long timer (making over 3 times the median income) doesn’t leave until they retire.
Teachers may get paid squat in some places, but not where I live.

Every year, women organizations send people out to high schools to teach young girls about domestic abuse (there is a lot of violence in teen dating). Every year, colleges will have conference where women leaders talk about domestic violence, sexual exploitation of women in the media, and crimes against women. They tell young women to get involved in politics and to pursue any profession they want. In one election, they have undermined everything they have tried to teach young girls and young women, and proven that they are nothing more than self-serving hypocrites.
Their silence about the violence and misogyny directed at Clinton, Palin, and the female supporters of Clinton and McCain sends the message to young women that they are not equal to men. Furthermore, not all women are equal to each other. Liberal feminists are superior to conservative women. Professional urban women are superior to working hockey moms. Women with an air of eastern sophistication are superior to women with a small town accent.
The most dangerous message they have sent is that if you are a certain type of women who challenges the status quo of liberal feminism, you deserve to get raped, beaten, and verbally abused by thugs, and some of your sisters will be cheering on the sidelines.
Remember that horrifying video of a group of high school girls of ganging up to beat a female classmate until she was unconscious then putting the video up on youtube? What I have witnessed women doing to Palin this election on and off camera, is no better.

The video is stupid and not even remotely funny, the comments are even worse as they show the ‘fruit” of gangster-rap and all that crap. I might get flamed on this but women-issues have consistently been reduced to wether someone is ‘pro-choice’ or not, and this has allowed certain people to get away with everything else. You don’t have to have a high regard for women to be ‘pro-choice’, nor the other way round. Seeing it as a ‘litmus-test’ has clouded people’s mind, over here e.g. the most brazenly sexist parliamentarians have always been found in the Labor Party and such.

This video is a sign that the culture is degenerating, and that is the saddest thing of all. Unless enough people step up to the plate and say “Enough!” this will not stop.
Blame the middle aged and senior white men (and increasingly women and black men) who own or work for the media, the advertising agencies, the rap stars, the Hollywood machine. Marshall McLuhan identified over 40 years ago that the medium was the message, and while we ignored the warnings, the big money guys didn’t. Everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame, which is sad, so sad, however, that’s what the marketing/Ad folks have given us, and along the way, they have defined how young men and women should look, act, believe. (anorexia, bulemia, suicide is not just a female problem)
This latest incarnation is extremely disturbing to me on so many levels, and that is from personal experience. Abuse of women if left unaddressed leads to rape and murder of women, and believe me, the US may decry honor killings in other countries, yet how many women die each and every day?
That is why this election is so disturbing. I have personal experience in being helpless – molestation at age 5, age 14, rape at 20. Those people who did that to me felt empowered because they were not held to account and as such, felt free to go and do whatever they wanted to others (hopefully they were all caught, but in those days, the police thought that my issues were rather piddling.)
If we allow this “man” to be elected, by whatever means (nefarious or other) then all our children are endangered. I do not want my son to be assigned to a Camp – both he and his sister have already performed 100s of hours of community service.

Barbara, I have been lucky enough in my life never to have hooked up with an abusive man or parent. My life is charmed. Which is just as well, because I would surely have been seen on Lifetime TV after having kill him in his sleep. But I do recognise an Enabler when I see one.
