Edward Said and Barack Obama: More of Barack Obama’s Jewish Problem

Even though bloggers have been mentioning Rashid Khalidi for a year or longer, the MSM has finally recognized that he exists.

Now that the MSM has finally noticed Rashid Khalidi, I thought it might be a good idea to bring up Edward Said.

Here’s a photo of Barack and Michelle Obama enjoying dinner with Edward Said, Columbia Professor and Scholar, writer and  Apologist for Jihad and well-known influential anti-semite.

They were at a May 1998 Arab community event in Chicago (of course!) at which Edward Said gave the keynote speech.

Here’s a well-publicized photo of Edward Said throwing a rock at an Israeli guard house at the Lebanese border. Columbia did not censure him.

Edward Said died in 2003.  Such a loss.

Addendum: As I was researching this “wonderful” man  Obama chose to associate with who’s probably “just a guy”, I came across yet another quote that belies Obama’s pretense that he cares a whit about Israel. Just a guy  Ali Abunimah writes,

The last time I spoke to Obama was in the winter of 2004 at a gathering in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. He was in the midst of a primary campaign to secure the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate seat he now occupies. But at that time polls showed him trailing.

As he came in from the cold and took off his coat, I went up to greet him. He responded warmly, and volunteered, “Hey, I’m sorry I haven’t said more about Palestine right now, but we are in a tough primary race. I’m hoping when things calm down I can be more up front.” He referred to my activism, including columns I was contributing to the The Chicago Tribune critical of Israeli and US policy, “Keep up the good work!”

Truly, I simply cannot understand how any Jew can vote for this man and feel safe.

    I have the same question, UW. And, I’ve asked it many times. It seems that, for those jews voting for Obama, loyalty to the Dem party and its historical principles seem to trump Israeli issues. E.g., one jewish friend said, “I’m not an ‘Israel Jew’.” Others who care about Israeli issues seem to be placing their trust in the Dennis Ross and Anthony Lake group of advisors he has on his foreign policy team (never mind the anti-Israeli samantha Power type group!). Isn’t it typical of BHO that he has 300 foreign policy advisors who’re all over the spectrum so that no one can pin a position on him!

    Back from Israel tonight. It seems that Mac has a substantial lead over Obama amongst Israelis polled. Figures…they’ve seen too many false messiahs to fall for this faker. The only ones who seemed excited about a BHO win were, you guessed it, the Arab Muslims living there.

    Of all the reasons Jews support Obama, one that stands out is the belief among Jews that “It can’t happen here.” They ignore the reality that before Hitler, Gemany was the most culturally and scientiically advanced country in the world. They underestimate and/or make excuses for very real, very virulent black anti-Semitism. And, of course, they have elevated voting Democratic from a matter of tradition to an article of faith. Jews would not be warned in 1920’s-1930’s Germany, and many won’t be warned now. My heart breaks at their folly.

    The only one who should have a muzzle is Biden. I nearly fell out of my chair when he said that there is no greater supporter of Israel than himself. I’m pretty sure Lieberman would disagree with that.

    MMI, as for the radicals in education, it may be they’d have a tougher time in the real world carrying on with their shenanigans, and still keeping their job. Corporate America is more interested in making $, than listening and supporting a bunch of troublemakers.

    Teachers in each state are different. In Montana, we may have part of our salary coming from the state, but our benefits are not provided by the state. I have taught in a one room school which had no insurance or benefits (well, there was a hog at Thanksgiving), but now I’m back at the one high school in the county and we have negotiated for benefits for the teachers. I do understand that there will be teachers that ruin the reputation for other teachers…I have seen it myself. Still, I will do the best I can, be the best teacher I can, and I will honor those who will do the same.

    Our university system is close to having the type of system Palin4Prez mentions.

    Turns out a children’s dance troupe (Sanabel AlQuds Dabka troupe) performed at the event; this dance troupe does a very interesting simulation:

    a mock beheading of children draped in US, UK, and Israeli flags!

    In the simulation, the children swing fake swords and the flags fall to the floor and the dancers stomp on them.

    Debbie Schlussel does not know if the troupe did the simulation during the event but she infiltrated the group at a later date and saw the act at subsequent performances.

    Can you believe a newspaper covering up for this!!!
