I think he’s a pathological liar. That’s because I think he’s a narcissist and narcissists are often pathological liars. When caught in a lie they just laugh or become idignant as in “Let me make something clear”. They often change the subject when caught too.

Personally, as much as I’d like to believe this one, I think the report in question was just a bad job and when they got called on it, they backtracked.

He is still swearing he never talked to Blecko about the appointment. He just had a press conf and said he’s looking into whether or not any of his “staff” talked to him. Here comes da bus. But he also says that he knows his staff would not discuss such a thing with Blecky.

He did do a lot of bumbling with his words when he answered questions. That is getting on my nerves. However, it is not much better when he reads from a script. He sort of blows the words out of his mouth and ends his sentences abruptly. Choppy. Wonder if there is enough money in his White House household expense account for a speech coach. I’d be willing to spend some tax dollars on that especially if I have to listen to him for four years. (or less) Fingernails on chalkboard, ugh.

No, the picture pretty much nails some kind of “contact.” I mean, he WAS at a meeting of Governors, after all. It was the same meeting that Palin was at, right? There were news reports that she met Obama, so it’s pretty standard to figure Blags did also…as did probably every other Governor there who wanted to meet saint-elect Obama…
The fact that a blogger would come up with some kind of evidence before “the press” did is a sign o’ the times. Right-wing bloggers like the guys at Hot Air are incredibly motivated and don’t have to wait on approval from their bosses before posting

Why does this remind me of Bush denying that anyone in his administration had anything to do with the outing of Valerie Plame? Do all the politicians just read off of the same script? Note: Patrick Fitzgerald was also the USA pursuing the outing of Plame.

Even Rachel Maddow noted this on her show right after Obama made his first “plausible deny” at the press conference with Gore and Biden. She shrugged her shoulders and said it sounded exactly like the kind of thing that came out of the Bush admin every time they were asked about an investigation.

I think the incoming administration gets a “F” on the way it handled this scandal.
The reason BO lied may have to do with the impropriety of not reporting Blago’s overtures to the authorities. A prez-elect can’t be seen to be even engaging in these kinds of conversations. The only appropriate response would be to walk out of the coversation or hang up the phone.

I betya called i. He didn’t report it–in the meeting he had (now expunged from the web) or some phone call from the Top Rahmen or somebody. Blago said all he offered was appreciation…so there might have been some statement someone made to someone else of “We are not paying, but we would appreciate it.” Of course, that would give Blago a marker he could try to collect on later.
Obama would lie for numerous reasons I can think of:
1. He knew there was more to the conversation than Blago let on to in his taped calls and barfy doesn’t want questions asked about him for fear that Blago will slip up
2. Blago knows so much about Obama’s dirty Rezko dealings that he wants him put away fast and furious – and was actually the one to blow him in to the FBI or “order” his arrest – before the wrong questions can be asked
3. As a warning to Tony Rezko of what happens to those that squeal after they get caught or don’t play by Obama’s roolz
4. He’s so used to lying he doesn’t even know when he’s doing it anymore
5. He’s pissed off that a pissant like Blago would dare to bargain with teh One, and blew him in as punishment
I’m sure others can come up with additional possibilities.
However, being afraid of having broken the law – be serious!
