Always the opportunist, Al Gore has found another “inconvenient” situation from which he can profit.
After American taxpayers have placed their children and their children’s children into debt for life by giving away a hundred billion to keep dying auto manufacturers afloat, Al Gore is backing a new auto manufacturing company, V-Vehicle Company (VVC).
In the midst of the worse automotive industry crisis in a generation, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is announcing today that a new car company will build an almost one million square-foot plant in Monroe, in the northern part of the state. The company, identity to be revealed, is rumored to be planning to produce high-mileage, gas-powered automobiles
And Al’s going to help create 1500 jobs. But the 1500 jobs will average $40k a year. That’s kind of low, Al.
So I am wondering here, Al. Will these be Union Jobs Al, like GM and Chrysler’s jobs we are paying for? If not, Why not? I mean you are a good Democrat, aren’t you? You wouldn’t get involved with a non-union company would you? And how about those benefits and retirement funds? Just asking.
And will you be getting some of those billions in taxpayer money we don’t have like Tom Daschle, with his very profitable rerun of the old ethanol scam? Will the Government be running your company?
Oh and one more thing, Mr. Inconvient Truth: How come you aren’t practicing what you are shoving down the rest of our throats?
Funding will come at least in part from venture capital company Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and readers might recognize another name that recently joined the company as a partner: Al Gore. KPCB, which has formed an alliance with Gore’s Generation Investment Management, specializes in green and cutting-edge tech investments. Looking at the partners, I would expect that the tech behind this new company must be a breakthrough; otherwise, why would it back a car that does not use electricity, fuel cells, or a hybrid system?
What? Your friends won’t have to plug in their cars and go dead on the road after traveling 35 miles? No Peapod or PUMA cars that are smaller than our dogs? Will regular people be able to afford this car? Just wondering.
Gasoline? Gasp! I mean, if you can invest in a company that can get 95 miles on a gallon of that horrible gasoline you want us all weaned from, then how come you expect us to plug in our cars? Gasoline is not very Green, Al! The pollution! The carbon! Not Green!
Money is green though, I know, I know. Capitalism is good sometimes, isn’t it Al? For you, not for us minions. Wink…..wink.
If you know of a technology such as this, why aren’t you sharing it with your beloved country and its dying car manufacturers, Al, instead of competing with them while Congress is getting ready to force them to build golf carts?
Just asking. We’re dying to know, Al.
Keep the light on for us! I know you did it for us on Earth Day while we were all in the dark.

In Poll, Obama Is Seen as Ineffective on the Economy
By JEFF ZELENY and DALIA SUSSMAN
A substantial majority of Americans say President Obama has not developed a strategy to deal with the budget deficit, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll, which also found that support for his plans to overhaul health care, rescue the auto industry and close the prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, falls well below his job approval ratings.
A distinct gulf exists between Mr. Obama’s overall standing and how some of his key initiatives are viewed, with fewer than half of Americans saying they approve of how he has handled health care and the effort to save General Motors and Chrysler. A majority of people said his policies have had either no effect yet on improving the economy or had made it worse, underscoring how his political strength still rests on faith in his leadership rather than concrete results.
As Mr. Obama finishes his fifth month in office and assumes greater ownership of the problems he inherited, Americans are alarmed by the hundreds of billions of dollars that have been doled out to boost the economy. A majority said the government should instead focus on reducing the federal deficit.

Also, his adoration for Iran’s Supreme Leader is coming under fire….
Even while supporting the president’s approach, senior members of the administration, including Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, would like to strike a stronger tone in support of the protesters, administration officials said.

Yeah well they’re all a bit worried this president is going to get us blown up with his pandering to psychopaths who want us dead.
The Emperor’s clothes are starting to vanish…for now, from the uberlibs at the NYT
They probably expect a bailout and will behave if we give them ten billion. I hate the NY Times and apparently so do a lot of people since they are sinkng and they are junk bond status. I don’t trust them even when they do this. Let em eat ink.
I remember Al Gore as someone who was recalcitrant towards my country former Prime Minister (Mahathir). There was big public protest = not buying USA goods then, until Bill Clinton & Hillary came to apologize for that so called “Green” butthead. Bill & Hillary was willing to humble themselves for this butthead.
And Al Gore, rumours has it that he wanted to overthrow our government with Mahathir’s former Deputy PM – Anwar Ibrahim who was then fired and replaced for “treason”. Mind you, Mahathir wasn’t the perfect PM but he did bring wealth, jobs and some of the brilliant projects to the people…he was also known as “10%” commission PM. But we didn’t mind till the day he retired ’cause he’ll always be remembered as “the best PM” ever for my country for the last 22 years.
Even Hillary looked up to him for “downturn” economic remedies…Mahathir administration went thru several world’s downturn, and we came out stronger because he didn’t just throw “earmarks or Pork” to the people…he worked with the people. And sometimes, he’d give back that “10% commission, too.
BTW, he’s still active when the PMs screwed themselves up…he criticized them for not doing enough. And I always thought that he feels he never could do enough good…but we the people knew he did his very best.
Till today, Al Gore & Soros still meddle with my country’s politics, pumping money to destabilize the government. I was almost “estatic” when he lost to GWB…because, even then we knew he would bring the Obama kinda Presidency = socialism. Well, we do have “socialism” but capitalism is still strong in the minds of my people. Public Health Care is indidvidual’s choice. You work hard, pay taxes and prosper, no one will “play dirty” on you. But one thing my people still remember about Al Gore = socialism, faked democracy and bow to the will of Washington. He won’t succeed, neither will Soros…they’re already “marked” in this part of the world.
Ms UW, Al Gore is just another ” Do as I say, don’t do as I do” guy. What a pissant!!!
wohhhhhhh…did I rant too long…too much???LOL
Wow joey. Just Wow. Don’t stop ranting. This is information we would have never known without you.
FF he’s been naked for a long time. PRAVDA like the NY TImes just kept putting fig leaves and paper suits on him. That’s how we got him.
Ms UW,
I don’t like to give out information, just to give information. But when it comes to Al Gore…I get all pissed. He’s so faked!!! He likes to belittle small countries, and just like Soros he wanted us to “borrow” money from IMF, and Mahathir refused, eventho we needed to. Yunno how much is the IMF interest rate? We just don’t want to pay 30% interest rate plus being controlled by washington. Mahathir knew that he couldn’t risk people’s lives and the debt + interest, it would trickle down to generations to come…and we already learned this in late 80s and early 90s…looked at those countries that had borrowed from IMF…have they prospered??? Hell NOOOOOO!!!
Indonesia, Thailand, Mexico and many african countries…they’re forever in debt to IMF.
Al Gore & Anwar Ibrahim & George Soros have been buddies for almost 20 years. Thank God for Bill Clinton.
Like Mahathir, Bill is an independent thinkers…this two great men have no puppet masters that’s why washintons and anti-Mathathir despised them. Great orators they are and there’s very little need for teleprompter whenever they spoke their minds.
Al Gore??? God help us all!!!
Keep it up Uppity! I look forward to reading you each day.
Heck Joey I would want you to borrow from ME at 30% too. Loan sharking is legal here in the USA now.
LOL McN I knew i could count on you to get the Renfield remark.
Did you say GAS POWERED?
At what point are we to start screaming Uppity?
Why that……!
ps: I have that twitter thing, GF. I am going to twitter this!
Damn.
That bloated liar.
Unbelievable. Gee, I wonder if Michael Moore is part of this deal too?
Hucksters.
Frauds.
Borrow at 30%??? Ya kidding me??? Unlicenced loan sharking is illegal in my country…even then its only 13%!!!…Nope we won’t borrow even if we have to eat dirt…we are much too resourceful to come down to that level. Maybe alittle smarter than most countries. We DON’T sell our country and our souls for want of money.
Chris “Renfield” Matthews eats fly for Master.

What country would that be, Joey?
Oh, and Uppity, so glad to hear that you “settled with management” and that the strike is over. Nice to see/hear from you!!!

Park,
Malaysia
The only thing green about Al Gore is his stinking green feet.
This man has single handedly destroyed this country and oought to be treated like Saddam got.
He knows there is no truth to all this global warming crap and yet has played out to be so caring and sincere to these morons that needed a cause to believe in and is raking in tons of money on crap that any person who can read knows is BS.
Clinton did a lot of good grant you but I do not forgive him for saddling us with this green slug.
utahwoman said (about Al gore):
“This man has single handedly destroyed this country and oought to be treated like Saddam got.”
Woweekazowie, ute… That’s a wee bit over the top, methinks. He may have his hypocritical side — I’ll grant you that. Show me a politician who doesn’t… And I DO believe that he’s well-intentioned, even if — MAYBE — a bit misguied. But I believe that this country would be in a LOT better shape had he been elected in 2000, as he SHOULD have been.
Comparing him to Saddam? Sorry, that’s a little bit too far right for me. Call me crazy…
-MS
Sorry, should be “misguided.”
-MS
Not really Park. With all this global warming stuff we have seen the destruction of our auto industry. How many lives ruined there ?
You must understand that it was not just the assembly plants that are down sized or gone but many contracted suppliers. Now add to that the numbers of Americans still paying for those SUVs etc that they now own and say they are at fault if you want to and say it was the yuppie socker mom buying the Suburbans, Tahoes etc if you wish but fact is that these vehicles moved entire families with the ability to pull a trailer , boat or what ever you will. Now we are expected to suck it up and take the loss and get a small car that can not live up to our needs or have two instead of one. A truck to pull the trailer or boat and the family that can not fit into the truck follow in a car behind it ?
Oh and we have to plan on many more stops because it will need to be plugged in.
Imagine taking the whole famdamily to Yellowstone. A family of 5 and then grandma and grandpop that makes 7 so who rides in back of the pick up or in the trailer both against the law.
A Suburban held 9 passengers and could tow a trailer it was the perfect family car.
Imagine also if you will the millions that hate this cork screw light and can not see like they can with the regular light bulb. Imagine if you will how much more polluting energy it takes to produce just one of these mercury riddled cork screw bulbs over the other.
Batteries: so newer cars will have more batteries in them to go green. Batteries are hazardous waste now . Batteries have polluted waterways and land fills and caused folks living near the plants producing them tons of ills due to the nickel in them.
Global warming has become a top priority in this country robbing from taxpayers at astronomical amounts in energy taxes, forcing businesses to pay more and more to go green, and more and more to change and go along with this hype. Enough to make them not profitable and go under. We are always going to be dependant of fossil fuel so long as we use plastics, and other petroleum based products and he and these morons that are stuffing this down our throats know it too.
He is making tons of money destroying the lives of millions and so our his buddies.
Many of us are floating loans on these so called gas guzzlers because they suited our lifestyle and having a Toyota or Honda was not an option. Now we have loans of $ 40,000.00 or morte on vehicles we can not give away. So trade in means we carry the balance on them when we are forced to give them up. Now that said how many are going to continue to pay on these SUVs ? Banks are going to eat another big one there just like the houses.
More importantly in my opinion is that we are having the freedom ripped from us to choose what we want in favor of what a certain group wants for us and forces upon us. It is about freedom. Drilling for oil is the answer and it has all but been nixed in favor of money for a idea or belief that is unfounded costing Americans jobs, money and freedom and to me that is domestic terrorism and unconstitutional.
Yes I do tend to lean far right on some things especially when my freedom and wallet are both under fire. For the most part I am a middle of the road thinker.
But when it comes to a “cause” leading to the the destruction of the constitution and peoples liberty you bet I see that as dictatorship and evil.
utahwoman,
That’s a lot to digest, and I think that SOME of your points may be well taken. Regardless:
1. How many i-, 2-, 3- or 4-person families drive these stupid SUVs? (AND, I HATE!!! driving behind them). They could certainly get by with a smaller car.
2. I haven’t owned a car for 19+ years (I admit, tho’ that I live in Brooklyn, and have a quick commute to my job in Manhattan). Previously, I rented, although now, my S.O. has one – a little old Toyota, thank you very much.
3. Going green is a GOOD idea whose time has come. I don’t believe anyone is being FORCED to do anything in this regard (or “having the freedom ripped from” them). I too am a staunch believer in personal liberties. But doing what you CAN to go green just seems like a common sense good idea.
4. People who are “floating loans on these so called gas guzzlers” have only themselves to blame. It’s called living within your means. I don’t think you like the bank bailouts, and NEITHER DO I!!! But lots of them are happening because people took out mortgages that they couldn’t afford. TOO BAD!!! I don’t want to bail them out either, and I have NO MORE SYMPATHY for someone who buys a car that they know they can’t afford.
Sorry to rant, but you did touch a nerve or two…
-MS
Park, when Cap and Trade hits, you won’t be able to afford to heat your home. Everything you buy will have an inflated price. You will be badgered to do things to your home that only the rich can afford easily. Overall, your personal freedom to LIVE will be impacted.
But as the people’s cube have pointed out, the earth is going to impact with Venus in 3 billion years. We must act now!
Going Green is going to turn into Going Dead. I am a little skittish of people who think CO2 is a horrible thing, since we humans exhale it. If we all stop exhaling, our problem will be solved. And somehow, I suspect that some zealots would think that was just fine with them.
And since plants need it to grow(so we can eat!) and in turn give us useless humans Oxygen to inhale.–CO2 is here for a reason. It’s called “Survival”.
Utah, you can’t call it “Global Warming” any longer. They changed it to “Climate Change” right after their polls reflected the fact that people figured out they are full of shit.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they are working on a method to turn all the people who can no longer afford to eat into an alternative energy source.
Well, Uppity,
I asked you last week what Cap & Trade was and you let me know. I then did a search to find out a little more. Looks like it’s going to affect industries rather than individuals (and don’t tell me – I know that increased costs for businesses are passed down to the ultimate users, but economics tells us that THAT effect would be somewhat diluted).
I’m not looking to pay more for anything — to underscore what you said above, our electric bill went up by $20 this month (to $80, which is a 33% jump) and we haven’t even used the A.C.s yet!
I don’t believe I’ll be badgered to do much anytime in the near future, in terms of greening. And, since I DO like my personal liberties, I WILL resist doing anything that I consider pure P.C. and not genuinely important. That would even extend to (((gasp!))) — CHEATING!
Just call me one of those damned revolutionaries — or maybe just crazy…
-MS
To be honest, I’ve driven a car that gets good mileage for years. I didn’t need my government to force me to do it. I just have a allergy to giving more money to big oil and Iran than I have to. But I highly RESENT that the cost of my home heating already consists of gouging by greedy utility companies from other countries, taxes taxes and more taxes so greedy politicians can hire more friends. My winter heat bill is already on par with some people’s mortgages. I don’t need Cap and Trade bullshit doubling it so that more politicians can waste more money and gain more profit personally on bogus programs. People are going to die. maybe that’s the goal. Less CO2, right?
Park, I love you, but you can’t be serious. You actually think industry is going to “absorb” this cost, cut their proft and not pass it on?
No cheating! That’s reserved for politicians and appointees. YOU get to go to jail. They get to be cabinet members.
No, Uppity (and I love YOU too!) I don’t think that industy will absorb increased costs. I just don’t believe that passing on increased costs would result in a dollar for dollar increase at the consumer level. I mean, the costs of doing busiess ARE spread out among all of a business’s customers, right?
-MS
“No cheating! That’s reserved for politicians and appointees. YOU get to go to jail. They get to be cabinet members.”
BWAAAHAHAHAHA!!!
-MS
The system tells me, Park, that it is much worse than that. Remember, it’s not just manufacturing, it’s point to point delivery. The cost of delivering goods will also be tacked on, when the taxes are added to gasoline. Then there’s the middle man, who has to worry about all that carbon emissions from his store. THis is an erosive process Park, somebody is going to make BIG bucks on it too, and it’s not you and me. This entire thing reminds me of the bomb shelter scam. I’m serious here. Only the difference is, people got voluntarily suckered then. This time we are all going to pay by force.
CO2 is natural, Park. Not only is it natural, but we NEED to in order to grow produce. Which reminds me, imagine the cap and trade costs that will be passed onto us for produce. remember that post I did about the tomato? That’s what we are up against here. This is not only insane but it is perpetuated by people like Al Gore, who are making BILLIONS off of it.
God. I voted for him. Thank God he blew it. Although the one we got wasn’t much better, at least he wasn’t a freaking communist.
Here you go Park. Remember this? Enjoy!
http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com/2009/04/23/are-you-overweight-get-ready-to-be-the-next-global-warming-energy-and-health-care-target/
I know about CO2 – my first 3 years in college were spent as a chemistry major (but THAT didn’t work out so well!).
So we all know (or should know) that carbon dioxide is a necessary component in our environment for the reasons which you stated. It’s just when the levels of this gas increase to certain levels — and I’m not saying that that’s the case, yet– that trouble could ensue.
Look, I have no kids or grandkids, and at almost 59 years of age I’m not very likely to have any. So I have no personal stake in the climate change issue. The problems (OK, alleged problems) associated with this phenomenom sure won’t be happening in MY lifetime, you betcha’. But IF climate change IS imminent, it STILL seems like doing what you can -within your means, and without undue outside (government or P.C. societal) force being exerted — would be the right thing to do.
OK, soapbox — OFF! (But I STILL believe that we’d be in a better place had Gore won in 2000!).
-MS
Park, climate change has been inevitable since the beginning of life. It’s cyclical, and no arrogant humans are going to mess with nature. They can’t even produce Farm Fish that tastes like real fish.
Uppity,
I remember your 4/23/09 post well — it was one of your best, and funniest!
-MS
I think the best portrayal of Renfield was in “Dracula, Dead and Loving It” unless you count Joe Biden.
If Sarah Palin were (Vice) President, we’d be drilling for oil in Alaska right now. Saudi Arabia and Iran would be begging US for relief.
1. How many i-, 2-, 3- or 4-person families drive these stupid SUVs? (AND, I HATE!!! driving behind them). They could certainly get by with a smaller car.
Sudda woulda coulda it is about freedom of choice. Getting by in a smaller one over what you chose should never enter the picture. We could all get by on a lot less seriously all of us. We could all get by without fast food, soda pop, TVs, more floor space so to me that nulls that argument because each of us has something extravagant to others and could have gotten by without it.
2. I haven’t owned a car for 19+ years (I admit, tho’ that I live in Brooklyn, and have a quick commute to my job in Manhattan). Previously, I rented, although now, my S.O. has one – a little old Toyota, thank you very much.
And you live where that is feasible many cities are sprawled out and many folks live in smaller cities and have to commute to larger ones to work. You could say they should move but that creates another issue called not enough income to meet the rent and other costs of living. It also again violates freedom to live where you choose to live and the right to free and unencumbered travel.
3. Going green is a GOOD idea whose time has come. I don’t believe anyone is being FORCED to do anything in this regard (or “having the freedom ripped from” them). I too am a staunch believer in personal liberties. But doing what you CAN to go green just seems like a common sense good idea.
When you are being forced to drive smaller fuel efficient cars, forced to have your home at a set temp ( yes in CA they do) forced to use a poisonous light bulb or go dark, forced to pay higher costs at the pumps, or in your heating and power bill all because of a belief that we are in fact screwing up earth is just wrong no matter what spin is put on it.It is an outright attack on personal liberty.
No where did I say they were floating loans they could not afford. I could afford to float a loan much much larger then the two I am on my gas eating monsters. Here was what I said. Folks have these loans. HAVE being the operative word. What folks who HAVE said loans had last year before the crash of the auto industry which in part was lead to by the ” climate change” movement due to emissions, and other standards set on them as well as the AL Gore greedy speculators hording oil to drive the market up for larger profit, what they HAD was a vehicle that retained it’s value at trade in. Now these vehicles can not be given away. My truck cost $ 60,000.00. Now some might think I was dumb to put that into a vehicle but that is up to them to think I did it for many reasons but the underlying one is I wanted it and it suited my needs and more importantly I could afford it.
Now still owing the bank $ 30,000.00 on it a year later it is worth on trade in $ 10,000.00. and only to a dealer willing to take it.
That was not the case when I traded in the 07 for the 08 I got exactly what I paid for the 07 because there was a market for them at the time. So how many folks that owe what they do on these big vehicles are going to suck it up and carry a balance of $ 20,000.00 or more on a car valued at less then that or carry over the balance from the gas guzzler they are forced to trade in for a small one ? Would you being placed into that position carry $ 30,000.00 over to a contract on a new $ 20,000.00 car now costing you the same $ 50,000.00 ? I wouldn’t to be sure and if I am forced to not drive my large one by ” climate change” laws you can bet Bank of America is not going to like me too much.
Hey if we can’t laugh, what’s left, right?
Incog, i know in my head you are right. We need to tap our resources. This is a travesty. I know there’s one area in Alaska where a couple of hundred natives live and they need the moose for food, so this keeps us from drilling. We could relocate those moose for anybody who feels sorry for them—and then we could fly in all the moose meat those few hundred people want. While we are at it, if these people are that poor, why the hell don’t we just fly in complete meals? It’s a hell of a lot cheaper than putting up with crap from Iran. We have the oil and we all know it.
And that argument that it will “take ten years” just pissing me off to no end. These morons make fools of themselves everytime they say that. It’s the same argument we listened to ten years ago, and ten years before that. Ten years is going to go by whether we drill or not. It would be nice if somebody with an IQ one point higher than dull normal would mention that it would be nice if we had more oil when those ten years go by AGAIN.
Exactly how inept IS a government that isn’t capable of thinking ten years ahead?
Just asking.
Very inept very.
As for the natives in Alaska if we as a collective paid them what it is worth to drill on their land they would no longer need moose meat right ? They would no longer be poor. This administration and the Climate change nuts what us all to be poor and dependent it is good business just good business and that is all. We are being forced daily to give up independence for a cause that is pure crap designed to make some wealthy and run our lives. Freedom of choice is becoming obsolete and with that is free thinking going in the crapper as well.
ute,
Not to put too fine a point on it, but what if those Eskimos live there because they WANT TO? Wouldn’t that be “having the freedom ripped from [them] to choose what [they] want in favor of what a certain group wants for [them] and forces upon [them].?”
I believe that you’re against this in principle…
-MS
(AND, I HATE!!! driving behind them). They could certainly get by with a smaller car.
Forgot to address that one sorry because it is one of my pet peeves.
I have a lifted truck. It is my choice and under the constitution it gave me the right to have choice as I understood it. It is also your free choice to hate driving on the same road with me. It is also my freedom of choice to hate small cars cutting in front of me because there is enough room for them to fit in with little or no regard as to weather or not I can stop in time to avoid running over them. It is about choices.
I chose mine for many reasons one being I would fare up better in a crash and against sliding into a power pole in a snow storm. You choose what suits your needs and is best for you. But one must remember before jumping on the band wagon to ban something who’s rights you are violating. Does your right violate the right of another and if it does it is not a good choice. Learning to live tolerant of what others choose is much more in accordance with the founding and belief system put in place on a document to run a great country.
It is funny when you support a certain cause how fast one will step up and strip rights from the ones that don’t. Take smoking it is a prime example.
Or, doesn’t that apply for Eskimos. A bit inconvenient, no?
-MS
I never suggested banning SUVs or other large vehicles. But I ain’t gotta’ love, either…
-MS
Sorry: “ain’t gotta love ‘em, either.”
-MS
As is your right. But sadly many do not feel that way and think they need banned and are doing all they can to ban them. My truck is illegal in California. I can not drive into the state to visit my mom with it now. I have to rent a wreck and I am not willing to do that so I guess she will have to fly out here because I am terrified of flyiong.
See this is where all this thinking and pushing is getting us. I have to pay insurance, payments on a truck that can not travel into another state to visit my mom so I also have to pay to rent a car that can. FAIR ?
The only green Gore really cares for is the Green in his pockets.
As a person who uded to drive what was THEN (1997) a “big” SUV, I find myself dwarfed daily by the bigger ones on the road today – INCLUDING the “FlexFuel” Chevy Tahoe I was next to in traffic today. Nice, but certainly about $35K more than I paid for my USED car five years ago for $5K.
I haul a 6 and an 8 foot ladder REGULARLY and dozens of quarts of paint and many gallons, as well as boxes of brushes, rollers, drop cloths, buckets and etc to do my job. Throw in an 85 pound Golden Retriever every now and then and, as will be the case this weekend, a pressure washer too, I do not drive a “Big SUV” because I think it is my right, or to pollute, but it is because it is what I NEED to do my job. Now, does the woman down the street need to own TWO Hummers? If they think they do, that is their business, even if I do not like it. I also do not know what they NEED to carry, or if they work in disaster or if they just LIKE THEM.
But I get a bit bitchy when everyone seems to think that those of us who drive SUV’s do so because we feel we DESERVE them…
If I had to drive a new PUMA-Mobile, I would have to stay home and collect unemployment, (but I do not qualify)…
As for recycling, it doesn’t cost me a thing to throw glass and plastic in a bin in my garage and take it out with the trash, but I will protest when we get to Pelosi -Land and I have to put my used Kleenex in one bin, my scotch bottle in another, and my coffee grounds in a third.
And the first person who LOOKS THROUGH MY TRASH for POLITICAL REASONS will end up in the one marked “organic”
LOL FF, nothing like a week’s worth of used cat litter to keep them out of your garbage.
“And the first person who LOOKS THROUGH MY TRASH for POLITICAL REASONS will end up in the one marked “organic””
THAT is pretty funny… Reminds me of a story I heard about someone in the neighborhood who had the TEMERITY to thow some of their trash in to the corner garbage can. Apparently the garbage police went right into action and gave this person a summons for using a public receptacle for personal use.
Anyhow, they fought it in court, and won on the grounds that nobody could prove that someone else hadn’t removed the garbage from their home trach can (maybe in search of recyclable (deposit) bottles and then dumped it into the corner can. Happily, they won…

Speaking of recycling, here we have two guys whose entire job is to go through illegal garbage that is discarded in the wrong place, in front of someone’s home or in the wrong type of bag. They actually go thru the garbage looking for clues as to who put it there. Kind of reminds me of Alice’s Restaurant Massacre, where Arlo Guthrie is sitting on a court bench with murders and rapists awaiting his sentence because they found his name on an envelope at the bottom of a pile of garbage.

For dozens of reasons people have chosen these larger trucks and SUVs many and it seem that ones who who whatever reason dislike them see us as greedy, stupid etc and feel they have to go out of their way to insult us when we get out of them.
Like you FF my husband has tool boxes, slings you name it and it is highly doubtful he could travel a muddy snow covered dirt road in a Puma pulling a trailer to get to work. Out here in the western states as well like Utah, Nevada, Wyoming you might and most likely will travel 100 miles from one city to another with no traffic or signs of life.
I am sure tons of large truck and suv owners would like to drive smaller ones but life says otherwise and then again it is a matter of choice as well. I have mine for many reasons , many but the main one is I like it and it was what I needed to work and to give me a comfort zone as well.
Roffff Poor Arlo lmao. I remember that one.
what ticks me off is our freedoms of choice is being taken away,at an alarming rate.
and rules and laws forced on us.
I have this thing!!!!!! A distinctive feeling that utahwoman speaks literally like Sarah Palin. Yunno, the way she writes on here…kinda make me picture her that way. Are ya Utah??? Do you talk like Sarah? (laughing here…you’re always so funny LMAO
No and yes lmao. Thing is she is a bit far right on some things that I can not get behind but the overall is she is right on so many things as well.
But the things like Abortion etc she needs to dump if she is to gain speed.
She is a good woman seriously and I wish I had her fame because I would run. As a matter of fact I am considering going for a city slot here.
I am a center of the line person but I do tend to drift to the right lane far more often. Originally the Republicrats before they transformed into what they are today had more going to my ways of thinking now I see them as so screwed up they will go as the party they replaced oh so many eras ago the Whigs.
I voted for GW Bush a choice I regretted on his second year in office but still rejoiced that he beat Al Gore.
I have voted third party since then.
Joey if it is that I have that high pitched squeaky voice lol far from it I am darn near a basement voice. I have a deeper voice then Bea Arthur did and get called sir a lot on the phone.
Interesting when someone speaks to me on the phone and does not know me then gets to meet me and sees how small I am lmao

You might want to read this. This comes from our newly elected congressman who is on board with the 912 movement and is doing what he can to represent the people who elected him. They are out there but in small numbers but they are there and with luck we can get more elected
I received the following email from Rep. Jason Chaffetz’s office:
March 27, 2009
Dear Mr. McCourt,
Data released on March 26 by the House Committee on Ways and Means demonstrates that every state in the Union – and every American – will be hit hard by a new and highly regressive “Cap and Trade” tax.
The President’s recently-released budget imposes a $3.01 billion tax on Utahns. On a per capita basis, each Utahn will be hit with $1,115.47 in new taxes on their electricity bill alone (Table 1). Families will be hit even harder. The data show this new tax will increase the average Utah family’s (3.08 people/household) annual electricity bill by $3,435.65 or by nearly $290 per month. While other energy costs are low as a result of the recession, all energy costs will increase as the Administration increases the velocity of its frontal assault on American energy security.
At a recent congressional hearing on energy consumption I asked Mr. Howard Gruenspecht, an expert witness from the Energy Information Agency (EIA), a non-partisan federal agency dealing with energy issues, what percent of Americans consume some form of energy. He replied: “All of them.” Further, I asked him what percent of Americans would be impacted by a cap and trade tax. His answer: “Probably all of them.”
Since everyone in America consumes energy, then everyone in America will suffer the consequences of the Obama Administration’s foolhardy proposal to regulate climate change through so-called “Cap and Trade (Tax)” policies. The Administration’s proposal will not only further cripple the economy, it will impose a crushing energy consumption tax on every man, woman, and child in the United States.
With so many individuals already living on the margins, this massive new tax increase will destroy our hope of recovering from the current recession. The financial security of all Americans will be jeopardized if this tax is enacted. Now is not the time to increase taxes, nor is this the way. Despite the President’s assurances that 95 percent of Americans will not see their taxes increase by one dime, the numbers clearly show his plan will actually increase taxes on 100 percent of Americans.
Table 1:

Oh and for those of you who were having fun at my misery yesterday about mom and the computer I thought you might enjoy an update. Baby brother has been hounded with calls today lol because it is his day off. ROF. End result is he is going down getting her a desk top with huge flat screen and wiring it so I can take control of it from here and fix problems and she watch how and watch as I explain it to her. I am buying her new lap top from her. Problem solved.
Utah, that’s before the STATEs jump on and add their OWN Cap and Trade tax. After all, I never knew a politician who wouldn’t jump at a chance to extort more money. They did it with gas tax. And they did it with tobacco, they did it with liquor, and they will do it with this.
WOW Just. Thanks for the live feed link. Wow.
God everyone, click on Just’s link and read the chat to go with the live feed. These poor Iranians despise that Islamic Regime. They had a recorded video of the poor student they killed. They were all wailing and trying to awaken him. It was so sad.
There are also chatters there from USA who are Iranian telling of how they had to flee the regime. It is just so sad.
Oh no, Upps, not allusions to Soylent Green
This thing about Gore investing in cars that use fossil fuels does scream HYPOCRITE to me big time.
But wasn’t one of the reasons that sooo many people bought SUVs besides their presumed safety was that they got extra tax breaks for them? Yep, it was an economic incentive that got them to buy them in mass. So should be the same with nonfossil fuel cars. & I live in the city, where people would rather kill themselves than be caught on a bus. We only have one car cause it is so dang expensive to have one here, so we utilize the bus frequently. You know how many Obot idiots refuse to take the bus and make fun of us for it? Yeegaads! I’ve never liked the idea of cap & trade because economically it hurts small businesses the worst (aside from consumers); the big corps just buy up all the polluting rights. Didn’t we learn that in the 80’s?
& don’t get me started on those stupid mercury bulbs. They already have people calling 911 for not getting the right order at McDonald’s — what’s gonna happen when people have to deal with those on a routine basis?
& what moron thought that MERGING companies would benefit union members. When has it EVER? We’re fighting in WI to get Fiat to reopen closed plants here because of Barky’s grand schemes.
& BTW, I’m a huge liberal, but when policies in their design hurt the consumer how is that liberal?
joey — thanks for the info about goings on in Malaysia! We never hear anything about your country here, unless its in the side margins of the paper.
just one more comment about going green, I’m soooo glad that we as a country are finally getting away from the use of plastic bags. I’ve always been one of those people who carry a tote or backpack with me to the store, and now finally I don’t get looked at like I’m trying to steal something! Some stores even offer credit for bringing in your bags now, like major grocery stores. This is a change that was long overdue and makes sense.
Plastic bags are worshpped by cat owners. Try cleaning litter into a paper bag. Of course, totes are out of the question. lol.
Fembot, I have the distinct feeling those obots will be using public transportation a lot just as soon as their parents cut them off and have to turn in the leased car and save money on the insurance and payments. They are all leeches, you know. Left to their own devices, they would all implode.
ute,
Not to put too fine a point on it, but what if those Eskimos live there because they WANT TO? Wouldn’t that be “having the freedom ripped from [them] to choose what [they] want in favor of what a certain group wants for [them] and forces upon [them].?”
I believe that you’re against this in principle…

Yes it would if we as a collective took the land via eminent domain or forced them out in order to pump oil note I said pay them and make them wealthy for it. If it is their land and they are themselves stopping the drilling then so be it but as I understood it most Alaskans want the return of money they were getting in annuities for oil.
Nobody is trying to eminant domain these few people. It’s government land. And nobody is asking them to leave. The area they want to drill in by comparison to the entire expansive landscape is comparable to a gnat on a horse. The argument is it will drive away the moose they depend on to eat. That’s why I said it would be worth it to keep them in moose meat, not to mention other nutritious things they probably never eat. In fact, they aren’t even complaining, it’s the meddling crowd doing the complaining.
And yes, Alaskans enjoy a yearly check as their share of the profits from the oil yield. And they like it that way.
How many governors do you know who wouldn’t find a way to whittled down that money that goes to Alaskans. sarah increased it instead.
I met an Iranian immigrant some 13 years ago. Now being fed the crap that all of them hate us I was leery to have a converstation with him. Very very nice young man and he gave me a lot of hope about the people in the Middle East.
The thing that stuck in my mind is how he loved to hear my accent. LOL my accent ? He said that the America English is treasured over there by people that want to be free. He told me I would be surprised how many would love to over turn the government and have one like we do. He was working in a glass shop on a work visa and wanted to stay here and eventually get all his family out and over here. Now that is America folks. We should always welcome ones that come in legally and appreciate what we have not come in the back door and try to over turn all we have and make it the same as what they left.
I really feel for these people and damn I hope they succeed and in this persons opinion that is where we should be to help them do it. Gaining another Alli there is a boon and a boon to Israel as well.
Go for it people take your country and make it free. Right now the USA is a bit tied up trying to do the same thing here I think.
It’s very quaint to think that this country would never push people aside for progress. Considering the administration is beginning an all out assault on people who live in small towns and farms off the grid.
If you look at the electoral maps from 2008, it is a red sea of small counties dotted with blue urban centers. Those urban centers managed a small victory. They have 10%+ unemployment to show for it.
Barfy will end up throwing money at his alles and punishing his detractors. Everything will cost more, we will lose more jobs and like every other example, more energy will be wasted.
went to bed at 4am after i posted on here this morning(groan). paperwork, posed comments…paperwork, posted comments……………..
utah, you’re so dang funnyyyyyyyyy RFLMAO
it did cross my mind that you might run for public office, as you should. Reallyyyyyyy you got deep voice, deeper than bea authur??? Wow LMAO
But first, you gotta quit threatening to shoot your younger brother LOL. won’t do any good threatening, might be a liablity in running for public office. LMAO. But I am sure you didn’t mean to actually shoot him or strangle him!!!
By all means….go girl go! give it a shot, run for office then.
Fem,
U R very welcome. My country land area is so small that it can only be compared to Florida & S. Carolina put together with 27 million people ( about 4 to 5 million illegal aliens). The Population are generally mixed with Malays being majority and they are muslims = 60%. Chinese = 28% are mainly buddhists and more have become christains. East Indians = 7%, mainly hindus and christain converts. My tribes and other oborigines/ ethnic groups made up = 5%, mostly christains.
Generally peaceful and politically stable. That’s why we are hardly noticed by the rest of the world. But for India and China, we are their “little dragon”…meaning only second in top FDI (foreign direct investment) in this part of the world. Indonesians, Vietnamese, Thais and Bangladeshis, comes to our shore…just your mexicans…for survival and some have gone home prospered.
Business with USA is big = 25% export of our goods (pc components, gas, oil and palm oil, mainly) and 20%(probably more) import from US of corn, clothings, technology, beef, fruits and of cuz books and tv shows). Talking about reading materials…our govern don’t simply ban any books(infact almost never)…so there’s transparency somewhat. We have 2 satellites up there, to beam us in and out world connections, the internet connections was never controlled by government, infact Mahathir (ex-PM) built a cyber university after he introduced our first satellite. Due to this companies like Dell, HP, IBM and Microsoft move some of component manufacturings here…later built the whole pc here too. We benefitted, jobs in abundance then, but not so this time around.
In 1990’s Soros & Al Gore tried to buy my government, that’s when political climate changed…till today, that damage never quite go away. With internet revolution, the anti-govt insiders(opposition) tried to further badmouthed the country’s image. Some of the news you have read are probably true, but most of them were just politic as usual. Those new younger politicians trying be “Obama” style leaders. Now they’re trying to get outta koolaid attitude, even joined the old wise leaders.
To USA, we are a country that opposed Israel’s attitude towards palestinians. Majority of us sees the oppressian of palestinians as humanly un-human. Israel is the only country we cannot visit in this planet. But with 9/11, we woke up to reality. We were then, with GWB…until he invaded Iraq = new world order.
Having said all the above, our government is socialist type with a big “capitalism” encourage. Besides being known for an islamic country, the government knows it can’t impose islamic rules on everyone. You see, the price of loosing stability in our country is more frigtening than shoving islam up everyone’s throat. So we have coalition government. It has worked well to keep the harmony amongst the malays, chinese, indians and the ethnic groups. My neighbors are these people, and you can find this scenario all over the country. And like the streets and countrysides in USA, we do have crimes, but very minimal. Generally, you can still sleep well at night.
Hey Joey threatening him lmao got action. I would never seriously threaten anyone. Joke yes. However if I were threatened tthat is a whole nuther ball of wax.
Listen as I see it going into city government is a great step into seeing what can be done.
I highly doubt I would have done any good in a liberal area but this is very conservative and cost conscious here so maybe I can get my feet into the water. Heck it is one thing I have not done yet and those that know me know I have lived a full life and tried so many things. Worst that can happen is I lose or they hang me.
Utah,
Yeah there’s no harm trying, besides you’ll never know until you try. Open season I heard…2010???
Al Gore lied, coldy and cynically, about humans–especially Americans–being the cause of global warming for two main reasons:
1. $$$$$$$$
(a) in 2000, he was worth $2 million.
(b) today he is worth $200 million
2. to take revenge on America for his loss of the presidency.
