Gallup: Hillary Clinton more popular than Barack Obama

PRINCETON, NJ — Hillary Clinton lost the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination to Barack Obama, but in one respect she now ranks ahead of Obama. The president’s current favorable rating of 56% is down 22 percentage points since January. Over the same time span, Clinton’s favorable rating has changed little, and now, at 62%, it exceeds Obama’s.

SIDEBARdont_blame_me_i_voted_for_hillaryFunny how silly little insignificant things like actual knowledge, experience, hard work and competency eventually  make that kind of thing happen when compared to words, promises, lack of achievement and a charismatic teleprompter. Barack is going to have to pull her back again. After all, image is more important than country.

She must be horrified at the abortion that is being made of Health Care Reform. I know I am.

  2. Yeah I saw it. I didn’t dare post it though. lol.

  3. I hope this is the beginning of a grass roots campaign to urge her to resign as SOS and run in 2012 (I know, I know – a pipe dream, but sometimes thats all we have)

The idiocy and vagueness of the much lauded Healthcare Reform “Bill” istrumped only by the tragic lack of commitment to a clear decision re: Afghanistan, where many of our soldiers remain in harm’s way protecting a country that has recently implemented Sharia law.

Meanwhile, al Quaeda continues to regroup and become an even stronger threat in neighboring Afghanistan. Why isn’t the POTUS listening to Biden? Is appeasing the lemmings more important than protecting our soldiers?

  4. every time I see Hillary on TV I think, she should be Prez, instead of that dipshit. Maybe this is a pipe dream as well, but I keep hoping some shit will hit the fan that will force 0zero to resign, & maybe Biden would make Hillary VP.

Report: Obama Poised to Announce 45,000 Troop Escalation in Afghanistan

    http://news.antiwar.com/2009/10/14/report-obama-poised-to-announce-45000-troop-escalation/

  6. So much for the peace Prize. I understand the troops need to be increase as our men and women are in danger and numbers will aid each other. However how do u win a Peace Prize & increase troop sizes.
Everything is upside down and inside out!

  7. UGH such bad english on post above!

  8. “I understand the troops need to be increase as our men and women are in danger and numbers will aid each other.”

This may or may not be true. Dubbya took the troops out of Afghanistan to indulge his insane (and quite Freudian) competition with his own father (Oedipus? Are you there?). Although Bin Laden was indeed there at the time, the whole operation seems to have moved to Pakistan, and our troops are being killed – possibly for no reason, save the foot dragging from Obama in an effort to please everyone he lied to (an awful lot of people).

Either we send more with a clear strategy, or come up with another plan. In the meantime, this is a shameful waste of our military, not to mention their lives. (did I mention the cost as well?)

  9. Bush took his eye off Afghanistan to go kill the guy who tried to get his daddy assassinated. In the process, Afghanistan went right back to where it was. Now, Obama is going to take his eye off Iraq and go over to Afghanistan. So what do we think will happen in Iraq? The only thing these jerks learn from past mistakes is how to repeat them again exactly. We have to either stop jerking around and show our presence in both places concurrently. or cut the crap and bring those soldiers–who are getting killed while we diddle and can’t even get any respect from here for doing their job for the country full of people who hate them instead of thanking them–home. Pick one, Mr. President, if you can fit it in to your fun day.

  10. HEAR! HEAR!

    Way to go, UW!!

  11. speaking of the Peace Prize, here’s a headline from Drudge:
Majority of Nobel jury ‘objected to Obama prize’

I guess the “unanimity” if the committe was somewhat of an overstatement. A bit of hopey-changey in Norway, too.

  12. …..and babies still love Cheerios more than they love Obama as Deadenders would say!

  13. Hey, Leslie, the No-Ball Committee is run by a dictatorship! Who would have thunk it?

…..and that dictatorship gives their No-Ball Putz Prize to another dictator wannabe!

“Kenyan-born Obama all set for US Senate” LOL LOVE IT!

Save it before it gets scrubbed!

  14. Has everyone else seen this?

    http://web.archive.org/web/20040627142700/eastandard.net/headlines/news26060403.htm

The AP reporter stated the following:

Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.

This report explains the context of the oft cited debate, between Obama and Keyes in the following Fall, in which Keyes faulted Obama for not being a “natural born citizen”, and in which Obama, by his quick retort, “So what? I am running for Illinois Senator, not the presidency”, self-admitted that he was not eligible for the office. Seeing that an AP reporter is too professional to submit a story which was not based on confirmed sources (ostensibly the Obama campaign in this case), the inference seems inescapable: Obama himself was putting out in 2004, that he was born in Kenya.

The difficulty in finding this gem of a story is hampered by Google, which is running flak for Obama: because if you search for “Kenyan-born US Senate” you wont find it, but if you search for the phrase without quotes you will find links which talk about it.

  15. Thanks for the Heads Up on that Kenyan newspaper article JustMe!

Did you see that “Count Us Out” commentary on it also?

  16. HRC finally emerges from the hopey changey hangover. She might better serve if she was in a non marginalized position like say maybe…NY gov…

  17. Buttered the linked article is all about Obama and Ryan and the seal being lifted from Ryan’s divorce papers. I don’t see anything in the article about a debate between Keyes and Obama. Is there another AP piece about the debate somewhere??? If Obama actually said that, that would be very hard for him to explain. That’s not to say that Axlerod wouldn’t come up with something.

  18. Let me look again Somebody.

  19. Here it is via Count Us Out blog.

I think JustMe’s post, way up top, has the link also.

  20. “tragic lack of commitment to a clear decision re: Afghanistan”

    Anthony,
He’s made his commitment crystal-clear.. He is committed to an islamofascist victory. He is committed to US ignominious, demoralizing loss. Afghanistan is one more front on which he is destroying the US. Iran is next.

  21. The 56% who approve of obama are brain dead.

  22. I wanted Saddam dead before Sept. 11th. I cried tears of joy to watch the Iraqi people vote. Bin Laden is not in a cave in Afghanistan, he is a Saudi Prince for cripes sake! We are only there to capture and deliver poppy fields for Karzai. I believe we should stay in Iraq and help them forge the democracy they so desperately want. We need to get a equal commitment of troops from other nations, or get the heck out of Afghanistan, because Karzai is corrupt. Either way, it’s a crock that our soldiers have to “train” these warlords to fight. It’s the only frickin thing they know how to do, in either country.

  23. Swell you’re dead on with Bin Laden and those poppies but the only reason were in Iraq is black gold.

  24. Oh, yea, I’m with Sonrisa. Everytime I see Hillary on TV I think she should be Prez.

  25. Saddam ignored sanctions, mass murdered the kurds, abused his own people, his own family, his son’s were crazier than he was. He invaded Kuwait, he defiled his own country with his madness. I wish we could kill him again.

  26. Afghanistan was supposed to be a surgical strike. bin Laden probably made it into Pakistan before the US even mobilized. The mission has changed.

I never really cared that Iraq didn’t have WMDs and the people who complained they were “fooled” by Bush and Powell were never fooled. They were always against the war. This was about the UN not obeying it’s own treaties and Kofi Annan’s son and France keeping their oil for graft scheme going. Bush was the only one who was trying to stop Saddam from starting a new war in 10 years.

Oh, and count me as someone who has a MORE favorable opinion of Hillary than I did in 2008.

  27. correction – Saddam ignored and mocked UN resolutions and inspections, and ran around sanctions by diverting humanitarian aid money into buying more weapons. He had the air conditioning turned off in the children’s hospitals to divert money to buy weapons.

  28. UW — Thanks on recognizing our Hill; it’s hard to get any news of her
    from the kool-aid-poisoned MSM,
Also, I find your comment at 1:40pm to be right on. Having said that,
I’d be in favor of getting the hell out of Af-Pak ASAP — they are not
redeemable through the expenditure of more American blood and
treasure. I’m all for the Biden plan of limited murderous engagement.
Keep the drones and the Black Ops alive and well, and kill every AQ and
Taliban functionary one can find, but that’s it. Anything else is
    foolhardy and doesn’t benefit us.

  29. We cannot win a war in Afghanistan any more than the Russians could. Good thing winning the war there is not oilsoc’s goal, nor is capturing bin Laden. After all, they both bow to the same king.

The Taliban is financing itself via drug money. oilsoc’s pals in Chicago want that $. So, as Swell said, oilsoc will suck up to Karzai and give him his cut. Swell and DE said what I’ve been repeating since oilsoc declared during the the primaries that Aghanistan is the “right war,” (“right war” clearly being a sentiment worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize): this is the War of the Poppies.

  30. Sounds like Obama plans to stay in Afghanistan and Iraq for the foreseeable future. How are we going to pay for that? We’re already broke. These two wars must cost $100-150 billion per month or so in acknowledged costs, which don’t include the hidden long term expenses for VA medical, nation building, etc.

    Here’s one estimate:
    http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0933935.html.

  31. The Russians couldn’t win in Afghanistan because we wouldn’t let them. We put that asshole Taliban there. We put Saddam Hussein in power too. We gave him the chemicals to kill his own people and then we acted surprised when he invaded Kuwaite. We trained Osama Bin Forgotten and his crackpot people too. We called him a “Freedom Fighter”. We helped all of thse assholes become what they are and then we are surprised that they have turned on us. That’s how stupid we really are.

  32. UW BINGO! That’s what I’ve been saying for years, and it’s why we’ll aways be screwed. Our enemy’s enemy is our friend has been working our real well for us over there. We’ve been on both sides of the Iran-Iraq conflict multiple times. That’s what really pissed me off about prosecuting the American Taliban dude Lynch. Are we going to go after all our leaders that supported the Taliban too?

  33. Osama and Saddam are both results of stupid US policy. Fighting a political war is building a foundation on sand.

There’s no reason we can’t win in Afghanistan. When we nuke the country and everyone is dead, we win. Any less than that, we might as well pull out.

  34. No, we can’t do that. There are so many good people there who have suffered day in and day out at the hands of the Taliban animals. We need to pick off those bastards and drop their guts in the middle of the road for the buzzards to finish off.

  35. Those good people have to rise up on their own and overthrow the Taliban. When we put in people like Karzai, it just makes them resent us and the puppets who govern them.
