This bunch who are temporarily in charge (no party lasts forever) had better count some votes before they send pigs like Alan Simpson to insult a major voter base who worked all their lives so that these thieves could live high for the rest of their lives on taxpayer money.
Here’s Ruthie. She’s our member econsmed’s mother. Ruthie can see November from her house.

"This is not culture. This is not custom. This is criminal."

Brilliant! Of course Ruthie is too smart to want the job but I’d vote for her…
*** I can smell Nov. from my house too….***
Yep! You Betcha!
Love Ruthie! Leave it to a senior to get to the point succinctly.

was this a cause, or an effect?
we report. you decide…..
ff….karma dominoes?
You go Ruthie!!!!
I’d love to see a Ruthie vs Barry debate! She would clean his clock!
Re: Jerry’s deli…..Obama sandwich = full of tainted baloney.
Yes she does seem to make the point in few words. Imagine a question and barack going first, babbling, rambling, detouring, dodging, boring the shit out of everybody. And then Ruthie responds with Ah Go Screw Yourself.
thanks Uppity!
Hey econs, don’t forget to show Ruthie.
I’m suprised his security detail let him eat at Jerry’s before checking it out for safety violations. Sure hope he didn’t eat any mouse droppings.
Love the Ruthie video.
Gotta love her! You go Ruthie!
OT- got a lamb at the auction last night- 149 lbs live weight. Should dress out to about 70 lbs of meat. It will be back from the processor in about two weeks. Shall I make you jealous? Live weight $2 a pound. So after processing about $4 a pound!! Still cheaper than in the store and I know what is NOT in it! No growth hormones, no antibiotics and the local processor I use has an IMMACULATE facility! (No Kidding- you can see right in to the room where they do the cutting and packing and if you really want to you can tour the area where they do the initial slaughter and breakdown. Clean I tell you!)
Lamb with fresh rosemary and red potatoes fresh from the garden! No carrots but I have some butternut squash and acorn squash.
PMMom, you are cruel, brilliant but cruel. My mouth is watering.
Re Ruthie, she is very like Betty White. Who could forget her multiple personnas as strong, outspoken women. Must go to youtube to see if they have her Johnny Carson skits – Tarzan and Jane divorce or Adam and Eve divorce. Classic, just like Ruthie.
He ordered pastrami. I guess Mr. Environment loves him his meat. You know, the meat all his Envron Nazis keep saying causes global warming. Or cooling. Oh, make that “climate change”.
No meat for Thee, but not for me.
ehemmm……O U C H !

” Louisianans are feeling more and more that George W. Bush’s leadership on Katrina was better than Obama’s on the spill…..”
LOL! Man, when W looks good to Louisiana people instead of you,you are truly putrid.
GREAT!
Yeah UW, OBlah would ramble on ad nauseum trying to answer a question. And Ruthie could retort again,
Even Heck- Of- A- Job- Brownie at least showed up.
Yeah Uppity….wait till the poll goes national…..
Get ready for the rerun of Obama’s Freakout Flu Scare again. Must. Keep. You. Busy. Worrying. so you don’t notice what a shitty president and congress we have. Expect them to REALLY keep you busy near November. Maybe Obama will announce he cured Swine Flu.

H1N1 Vaccine Pandemrix Link to Narcolepsy, Under Investigation
Is this vaccine like the one we get here in the US ? Just askin’……
That image is very becoming of Betty White. That poster girl advertisement could be carried around during election time. Just a little reminder to candidates.
oh no, here we go again – flu season is imminent, so let’s ratchet the fear.
Every year, I catch a bug. Every year, I spend two days in bed with temps around 104 degrees, and sweat it out. It’s been that way for as long as I can remember. The only time it changed was when, on my doctor’s insistence, I got a flu vaccination. Instead of two days in bed, I spent four weeks, sick, sick, sick, fighting off the vaccination. Since then, I do not get a shot. That is not to say that I disagree with the vaccination – it’s just not for me. Same way the polio vaccination wasn’t for me – four times vaccinated (because I didn’t get the scar, they kept at it). My body just rejected the vaccine. Some people have naturally active white blood cells. Yes the flu is dangerous to a lot of people, but it always has been and for those people, by all means get the shot.
Neither of my children get the vaccination either, after their first time – again, sick, sick, sick.
LOL on that snarling roar at the end! LOLOLOLOLOL!
hugs Upp & Co.
I watched a few mos of Beck this morning — hmmm. Seems he built himself something like that faux greek deal on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial? It’s all just so much showmanship or something.
In the meantime?
I finally bought some eggs. CA eggs. They had a sign up saying these are CA eggs and we don’t have that prob. But?
Yuk.
Dunno. Chickens! Make sense.
Valentine, check with PMMom – she has chickens.
List of states expanded to include (distributed to)
The recall involves eggs distributed to 14 states: Arkansas, California, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin.
Sh*t! my cat heard that Puma and attacked me!
If you buy your eggs from a farmer you know, you don’t have to worry about the salmonella. It’s only the junk from the big distributors you need to worry about, In fact, don’t buy any corporate food. Find yourself some farmers/farmers markets and buy your food from them.
Sophie, it’s a little hard to find a farmer’s market when it’s ten below zero and there is three feet of snow on the ground.
Just remember nan, cats learn by Watching….
UW: More and more winter markets are opening up. But yes, they’re still few and far between. It depends on what you’re willing to do to eat food you can trust.
Also, we do have the option of spending time this month and the next two months puttin’ by. (I’m doing tomatoes as we speak.) Again, not what I had in mind as mid-life recreational activities, but I haven’t had to worry about my food for about three years now.
sophie, I make a vat of marinara sauce with my tomatoes and freeze it in containers. I have all my herbs for the year too. What freezes badly, I dry naturally. So right now I have all kinds of herbs chillin’ out in the house.
But basically, that’s about all I have to show.
UW: Do you live near any farms? I can get beef, pork and some poultry year round. Same for dairy products, including raw milk. The things I can’t get in the winter, I’m putting by now. I’ve got spinach and escarole in the freezer, along with a few bags of blueberries. (I missed the raspberries!) I’ve got my herbs too and my garlic collection. Now’s the time to start putting by since the harvests will be coming in over the next couple of months. It really can be done–with a lot of prior planning and work, that is. I only use Stop and Shop for cat litter, toilet paper, and cleaning products! Even in the winter. I live in zone 6.
We get our chickens from a free range farmer. But we don’t know the ropes for getting beef or other meats. I really don’t want to store a whole animal. There are only two of us and I’m a stickler about not having things in the freezer too long. I suppose we could figure it out, just never did. We get our meats from a local butcher.
As for the garden, we ate most of it. Ate all the berries too. Just a lot of tomatoes left. i grow a pretty good garden but I don’t want to use up a whole lot or the back 40. It’s just too damned much work if it’s not fun anymore.
I live in a city, sophie, don’t have a lot of rural connections. None, actually.
I am pretty lucky where I live–suburban and rural are neighbors and the state (CT) decided to care about farmers, so it’s easier here than other states. It’s still a big inconvenience and not really the way I want to spend my free time. I just can’t support the corporate food supply–I really think they want to keep us chronically ill so we’ll have to use corporate “medicines.” When I was young, we didn’t have the level of allergies and food intolerances that we have today. Where did this come from? The whole system disgusts me.
Go Ruthie! She’s awesome econs!
imust, whats this about barky & Jerry’s Deli? The Jerry’s in the valley?
No socal, Freedom Fairy posted this link about Barry eating at another Jerry’s Deli
http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2010-08-27/news/ct-talk-obama-dirty-food-0829-20100827_1_jerry-s-famous-deli-pastrami-critical-violations
Barack has a very unhealthy diet for a man who wants US to be more healthy. If you ask me, he’s a bigger risk of cost to the system than I am. I eat healthier than he does. He’ probably be obese too, if not for all those drugs.
He’s always wolfing down grease burgers and pastrami and wants kids to eat veggies.
And how about Imelda and her lobster fetish. She’ll probably have gout by the time she leaves the white house.
Don’t forget all that ice cream they’re always wolfing down. Not to mention…..PIE!
Gluttons.
She got a kick out of it – thanks Uppity!
