“These people have oil in their bodies”

I'm fine! Really! Looks worse than it is!

While our “leaders” were busy campaigning to save their own smarmy asses, nobody was thinking much about the BP oil travesty. Nobody was thinking much about the biggest man-created ecological disaster which spilled millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf  for months, while International skimmers were forced to just watch.

Then, according to our government and their BFF BP, the oil magically went away. What “little” oil was left was also dispatched by special never-seen-before mysterious, miraculous microbes that actually eat oil. Yes, that’s right, special helpful microbes ate all the oil that was left and made it all disappearl!  And the millions of gallons of highly toxic dispersant which hid all that sludge from your view beneath the suface so they could convince you fools that all the oil was gone  disappeared too! Isn’t that great?

So, why should we worry out silly little heads over that silly little spill? Our President and all of his related lackey organizations have declared that everything is just fine. The water is fine. The wildlife they hid from view are fine. The fish is fine. You’re fine. I’m fine. We’re all fine. The oil is……..gone. Gone, Gone, Gone. The problem is Gone. Just like magic! I mean, things are so back to normal, we don’t even see  that endless loop of nauseating homesy-spunsey BP commercials on TV any longer. You know, the ones where they keep telling us they are fixing everything , they will be there “for as long as it takes,” and other assorted bullshit stories. In fact, the oil and dispersants are so gone, that we didn’t hear a single question about the Gulf oil spill during the 2010 campaign season. That’s because that silly oil spill was SO July!

Incredible as this all seems, pretending is standard operating procedure for our detached, out- of -control government. This is because, as with large corporations, in the world of politics, saying something is so makes it so. Except in this case, we are talking about sea life, our bodies and the future health of millions of Americans who live in the Gulf, work in the Gulf, fish in the Gulf and ingest fish from the Gulf. That’s why there are some pesky reports that our President and his lackeys would just as soon not comment upon.

Take, for example, the dead coral that keeps showing up near the blast site.

(Nov. 6) — Scientists have found dead coral in the Gulf of Mexico only a few miles from where the BP oil well blew out six months ago, raising new concerns that damage from the massive spill may be worse than reported.

“The compelling evidence that we collected constitutes a smoking gun,” Charles Fisher, a Penn State University biologist and expedition leader, said in a statement. “The circumstantial evidence is extremely strong and compelling because we have never seen anything like this –

Well what the heck. Dead coral is obviously no big deal to our government or there would have been far more publicity about its residual meaning. I mean it’s not like we’re talking about dead people here, right. Oh ….um…wait….
