I’d get a lot farther away than 50 miles. There are a lot of Americans in Japan.
I’d get the hell off the entire continent.
Thanks for posting those trixta. They are talking about it a lot on all the news stations here. They’re saying we’ll only get a minuscule amount, and that you get many times more in mammograms, etc. Scary though. Apparently, our govt is starting to evacuate Americans in Japan that want to leave.
Its supposed to rain here, starting Sunday, for several days on & off. I wonder if thats a good thing or bad thing regarding the radiation?
What are the peeps protesting in the sidebar?
I dunno. It looks like it says “peeps rights now” (?).
Uppity, I perceive this as our country’s attempt to denigrate Japan’s expertise, and I find that laughable. And, reporting that Japanese citizens question what their officials’ are telling them is strikingly similar to our reactions of Obama administration’s statements during the BP Gulf spill. IOW, guvmint people everywhere have similar inclinations.
BTW, BP IS paying to air TV ads saying Gulf Coast is fine. There’s one by a shrimp fisherman and another by Rick Scali (sp) of Destin, whose business is managing vacation rentals. Rick says come on down. At the end, there is a disclaimer stating that Mr. Scali received no payment for his participation in the ad.
” They say” ” They say” Do you really believe anymore what ” they say ” ? I think I can not be the only one who takes with a grain of salt in what I hear from news or government these days.
I have always been against Nuke anything and remember all the power plants are mostly in the east and GE built them and anyone here have good cozy feeling towards GE ?
I am never one who believes it can’t happen here. We are just as vulnerable to the elements and attacks as anywhere else.

No.
May the luck of the Irish smile upon Japan today so that they get the electricity hooked back up to the generators.
So Sorry I have not done a St. Patrick’s Day Header. I have been terribly busy and had to take Angel in for surgery today. She has two growths. One on her shoulder – a deep cyst, and one on her chest that looks like an eyeball. She’ll be ok and I love her doctors, but I am a bit worried because she is my dog – my baby. And she is 11 so surgery isn’t as uncomplicated as with a younger dog.
So, that’s why no shamrocks for MKB.
Besides – it appears the Doomsday Clock is still apropos….
FF, may the luck of the Irish shine on your Angel today.
FF don’t worry about your buddy, he will do fine. I know it sucks because we worry about them so much. I’m nursing a cat right now with a mysterious illness and it just makes you lose sleep. But i know too, when they love life they rally for us.
Gang, I suspect the peeps are assembling for a major Easter protests. there’s the jokes about how awful they taste, the constant attempts to blow them up in microwave ovens and other assorted attacks. They have had it. They’e unionizing even as we speak. This could get ugly.
