You know what died on this day. It’s embedded in your mind.

……..and look how well it’s all worked out for us wimminz.

Hell, look how well it’s all worked out for our entire country…

May 31, 2008

  1. I am currently devoting FB daily status to the early endorsements. A statement from 10 January 2008 piece, Kerry endorses Obama for president, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22590831/ns/politics-decision_08/t/kerry-endorses-obama-president/ READS AS FOLLOWS:
Now is the time, Kerry said, to declare “that Barack Obama can be, will be and should be the next president of the United States.”

  2. Never ever forget! May they all rot in hell- not only for what they did to Hillary, but for what they did to this country. May the corbies pluck out their eyes!

  3. I have not forgotten and I never will. I don’t think I’ve ever been so disturbed by political events. I watched that damn hearing from start to finish and simply could not believe my eyes and ears.

    I will NEVER forgive it.

  4. OldCoastie! My goodness! How are you????

  5. I was there that day. Of course, I was standing outside (not important enough to be inside). The powers that be had promised that it would be an open meeting. Then they went to lunch for two hours and when they came back the party previously known as Democratic was dead.

I remember the hour long train ride back to Baltimore as being one of the most painful times in my life. I really was that committed to the DNC and I really trusted that they would do the fair, democratic and just thing. I was so wrong.

  6. I was in DC that day with my Meeka, standing with the Protests-god I cannot stomache these people and I can never Forget——-Karma to all of them

  7. I rode that damn donkey for over 20 years and it turned around and bit me in the ass.

  8. I stay a registered Democrat for two reasons:

    1. To vote against crackpots in primaries and
    2. To delude the party into thinking their numbers are larger than they are.

Still, I feel itchy all over when I tell someone i’m a democrat. I usually lie and say I am an Independent. Which, to be honest, I’ve always been. I don’t vote for assholes no matter which party they are in. I’ve never been a good follower. Especially not a blind one. I’m pretty much impervious to the charisma game, for that is all it is when it comes to politics.

  9. MODERATORS:
It’s time to change your blog password. Please do not ignore this request. As a moderator, you wield great power over the existence of this blog. Should someone hack your password, this blog could and would be destroyed. Also, whenever you even suspect you have been hacked on your computer, change your password here again.

Please don’t make your password easy. I know this is an inconvenience but it’s the only way hackers can’t beat you, and therefore, beat this blog.

  10. I tweeted a link to this post with the tags #PUMA #DemPartyKMA

  11. My password is “Obamaeatsdogs”

  12. I used to vote by just checking off everyone with a “D” next to their name.

    Never again.

  13. well, i’ve certainly not forgotten.

    Looking forward to November.

  14. And the objectification of women continues Women feel the worst about their bodies when bathing suit shopping (Yup a study!). “How do deal with what your mama gave you”.

  15. Blowing a kiss to Anthony.

I’m not exactly looking foward to November, but I’ll do what I have to do.

  16. Never forgive, never forget. November can’t come soon enough.

  17. I will never forget. I could not believe the shameful actions of the DNC.

  18. Honestly, who can forget. It’s a day that will live in infamy. Yes, that is how egregious their decision was imho.

  19. May 31, 2008, the day I was launched through the looking glass.
    I couldn’t forget even if I tried.

  20. I will never ever forget…and yes I left the party…I’m a PUMA but now an indi and I may vote for Jill Stein of the Green Party…I hope this postings get viral to remind the Dimcrats Party of their corrupted deeds.
See NOQuarter for more of the same.

  21. bellecat,
    Same here: Jill Stein 2012

  22. Uppity– stole your graphic and posted to my fb page. Hope you don’t mind.

I will NEVER forget this day. The day sane people devolved into something else as they tried to justify the blatant screwing with Democracy. The Democratic Party revealed its true colors, and I can never wave their banner again.

  23. Cerry, of course I don’t mind. Glad to be of help.

  24. Just got my ten day call for the PA Democratic State Committee meeting in Valley Forge. The overbearing progressives are now pushing to change the bylaws of all 67 counties to homogenize the procedures for removing Committee People from their posts. These are elected offices and what these punks fail to understand it that when the voters “feed back” their rejection of (what Uppity calls them) candidates through their committee people, it is something the party leaders should take under advisement. It is not the cue to launch a purge (Kruschev style) of Party Performers. If County Committees needed the State Leadership to tell them how to run their counties, perhaps they should not hold elected office. I now vote for candidates whose voting records reflect that they represent their CONSTITUENTS, not their party…and if I “Give Voice” to something other than the village idiot they’ve nominated for a post that may impact my life, that’s my exercised right. These hackers can piss up a rope.

  25. Hahaha SWPAnna. When they start messig with counties, they are too close to people’s homes. They might find THEMSELVES purged. This is why I hope they continue harassing people who want no part of them. Messing with committee people is NOT very bright. I hope they keep it up.

  26. In case anyone would like to voice their feelings to DNC…here’s the phone number to their headquarters.

    202-863-8000

I called and reminded them of that meeting 4 years ago today. I told them I will never forget and never forgive.

  27. Uppity, you nailed it:

I stay a registered Democrat for two reasons:

    1. To vote against crackpots in primaries and
    2. To delude the party into thinking their numbers are larger than they are.

Still, I feel itchy all over when I tell someone i’m a democrat. I usually lie and say I am an Independent. Which, to be honest, I’ve always been. I don’t vote for assholes no matter which party they are in. I’ve never been a good follower. Especially not a blind one. I’m pretty much impervious to the charisma game, for that is all it is when it comes to politics.

    That goes for me, too.

This is a bad day for me all-around. Our local rag of a paper decided to forget every lesson they learned in High School Journalism Ethics 101 by publishing a picture on their front page yesterday which has almost all of us ready to storm their building with torches and pitchforks. They’re big Barky supporters–not surprising.

My blood is not quite boiling like it was 4 years ago, but it’s definitely on simmer….and I sense a flare-up coming on.

  28. and I sense a flare-up coming on.

Whatever you do, don’t put anything on that flare up. We want it in full swing.

  29. What an anniversary! I am staring at the DNC survey sent to me by Wasserman Schultz .. no matter how often I tell these people I am no longer one of them, they just don’t seem to get it. (It took me such a long time to realize they don’t care what I think they just want my money!!) I still get the surveys, the calls, the pleas, etc… But, I enjoy writing my opinion, taping two shiny pennies to the document to give it some heft and and using the no postage necessary option to mail it back. Creeps.

  30. “But, I enjoy writing my opinion, taping two shiny pennies to the document to give it some heft and and using the no postage necessary option to mail it back. Creeps.”

I just dropped one in the mail this morning. All the literature and envelopes shredded. I include stray metal washers instead pennies because I’ll probably need them for my retirement given the way the economy is going, or not going. Creeps.

  31. Mcnorman recalled it as akin to the party’s Pearl Harbor Day “a day in infamy,” and for most all of us, it was. Never thought I’d see an entire party commit suicide. Uppity, I’m “independent” too — why should we give anyone the satisfaction of saying we belong to a party that turned on us?

  32. I used to send them washers and pennies, too. And let’s not forget “Bitter Bucks.” Hard to say which was worse — the RBC ignoring and flouting their own rules from before the prinary season even started, or the MSM pretending they knew about none of this and not doing a shred of homework, standing by to let this debacle take place — the third prong to this is the DNC, pretending at neutrality. How many times did I call them — I wish I could have Skyped, I would have seen them all wearing their Obama buttons back in March of ’08!

I would say they should all be ashamed, but obviously theey have none.

  33. @ Hal

I know it’s a strong word. It’s the only one that best describes how I feel.

  34. OT Oh oh, now Jesus is in a bathroom. Another reason not to clean the mold off the wall.

  35. My last message to them via their postage paid envelope was so scathing, I never heard from them again. I also deleted the email address they had, as their “Unsubscribe” was bogus. I have a post about that somewhere…wait..

I also demanded a free delegate since they were stealing them from Hillary and handing them out.

  36. I converted and saved a copy of the video of the hearing so I’ll never forget. Still in love with Harold Ickes. Haven’t voted for a Dem. since and won’t in 2012.

  37. Infamous is an appropriate word for their deed and a good description of that day.

I don’t know if it is accurately reported, but I do hope Bill Clinton called the Otard an amateur. God knows he should be called worse.

  38. Ditto on Harold Ickes, givens.

  39. May 31, 2008.
    Hijacked!

  40. Heck McN. Jesus is always in the john. That charlatan Rod Parsely said the Jesus sits on the can every morning and chats with him while he shaves. And people donate money to this freak.

  41. Hope that this will cheer you all up a bit. Hillary Clinton at a Town Hall’esque meeting with ‘Students Only!’ at the Royal Library in Copenhagen, May 31 2012.

The young ones attending were overwhelmed by her. Let’s just say, it’s about time they get to know the real Hillary Clinton and not the media-made caricature. :)

  42. Cerry, of course I don’t mind. Glad to be of help.
Hope it applies to me too Upps :)

  43. Of course, always, foxy!

Pips I am watching this marvelous town hall with Hillary in Copenhagen right now. THANK YOU! Wish I could find this on youtube so I could post the series.

  44. If that’s the case UW, I need to look for some mold on a wall then.

  45. Oh man you have GOT to click on Pips’ link and see these town hall videos of hillary. Part 4 is simply awesome as she discusses how she got where she is and the fact that she is a role model “for women in the world”, as they put it.

  46. I also demanded a free delegate since they were stealing them from Hillary and handing them out.

    Rofl.

  47. If you tweet, please consider making this hashtag (of mine) trend: #PUMAsSpeakNov6

    Thanks

  48. So glad you enjoy it Uppity. They are wonderful aren’t they! Both Hillary and the young ones. But sorry I can’t help re YouTube. :(

Instead here are some pictures from her visit late in the day to Tivoli – just before jetting off to next stop, Norway.

As Bill Clinton was here last week and among other things lunched in Tivoli, and all in all seemed to have a great time, looking relaxed and apparently enjoying himself immensely :) – earlier in the day Hillary Clinton had mentioned this and admitted that she was so jealous of him, but looked forward to having more time to herself and being able to do what she wanted, after the next election when she’ll be leaving the post as SoS.

Guess they managed to squeeze in a visit to Tivoli for her too after all and despite her grueling schedule. Good for her. :D

  49. Edwards sprung. One acquittal (on main count…I never doubted that); mistrial on remainder counts. Right outcome, legally speaking? Yes — he’s a major sleaze, but not a criminal. Is he lower than whale shit? Yes.

  50. A sad, sad day to remember. Sigh. I am so depressed about it all still.

  51. Password changed Upps! You have mail.

  52. I use this hashtag: GTFO2012

  53. John Edwards:

“I don’t think God is through with me”.

We certainly hope not. But the rest of us are.

“I didn’t do anything illegal but I did an `awful, awful’ lot”.

That’s right. You did an ‘awful awful’ lot because you are an ‘awful awful’ man.

Surprised Still4Hill didn’t mention The Confluence where the PUMA name was born in a comment by SM##. Will Bower, too. He was the PUMA media face for PUMA.
    Oh well.

  55. Now at least do you see why I just can’t help the GOP?

“Jay Townsend, GOP Spokesman: ‘Let’s Hurl Some Acid At Those Female Democratic Senators”

  56. “Jay Townsend, GOP Spokesman: ‘Let’s Hurl Some Acid At Those Female Democratic Senators”

    Almost un.be.liev.able. … I said “almost”.

  57. Townsend will issue an apology of course, but his true sentiments are already out there and will be absorbed by other cretins and young children, and that’s the way our patriarchcal culture continues to flourish, boys and girls.

  58. excactly dwp. The festering hatred is always right there at the surface waiting to leech out. This is a man who hates women. He wouldn’t even think in that metaphor if he didn’t.

I just cannot warm up to that party in it’s present hijacked condition. These are really bad people. This is why I entertain staying home in november.

  59. “Im sorry if somebody was offended or took it the wrong way”
Bet he says something like that, the shitbag.

  60. How do these freaks get away with hate speech like that?? Especially when the innocuous “fairytale” was ascribed to ‘raaaaaacism” and practically caused a media riot!

  61. …..because women are the only people left who aren’t protected from hate speech. In fact, we aren’t even proected by the constitution at all, so sayeth pitface scalia. That was supposed to be fixed by the ERA, which so many of these freaks keeps saying, “We don’t need”.

Pitface also said that only congress can rectify that. They could have. They didn’t. So much for the Party of Women.

  62. Good point, dwp. Here’s the comment that launched the movement!

    http://riverdaughter.wordpress.com/2008/05/31/tag-team-back-again-the-rbc-saga-continues/#comment-29043

  63. If I vote R in November, it is clearly against my best interest. If I vote D in November, it is clearly against my best interest. I just can’t even tweet a good thing about the republicans and their disgusting legislative behaviors and words towards women. And I already know Obama thinks the same thing. I refuse to support these animals. I have nowhere to go. And please don’t even try to tell me the country will be a better place if I vote for Romney. It isn’t and it won’t. No matter who wins in November, America loses. I am convinced of this. And women lose big time. To the point where they should really arm themselves for self-defense.

  64. @dwp

And I thought Biden was the biggest gaffer. Hah!

  65. Ok, I am going to try to embed this here — but the luddite may flunk miserably!!! :)
Vlogger Nineteen Percent is fabulous and speaks to the issue of women still being treated like sh*t. In light of today’s topic, I thought it was pertinent.

  66. Damn it — did not work — oy — here is the link…slinking away ….

  67. Lookie — I did it!!! Please watch her…

  68. She’s spot on Ani. Thanks.

  69. I have nowhere to go.

That’s what they depend on. Same ol’ game every four years.
Please, I beseech thee, do not stay home on election day. Vote! If you don’t vote the powers that be will chalk it up to ‘voter apathy”. If you vote for a third party [you will be registering your dissatisfcation with the Rs and Ds, AND, as an added bonue, if you vote for Dr. Jill Stein, you will be supporting and encouraging WOMEN! Important, that.

PS I finally learned how to do that block quote thingie! ;-)

  70. oops…guess not!!

  71. I don’t care if Edwards goes to jail. I just want him to go away.

  72. LOLOL dwp.

  73. Fixit Fairy visited you.

You used brackets instead of carats.

  74. Yeah, ha ha to you too! lol

  75. Listening to JW Smart. See you later.

  76. oops again! I just read the source code to find the error of my ways. Coulda saved some time if I’d waited another minute. I saw your Fixit comment in the code! LOL
    Fixit Fairy visited you.
You used brackets instead of carats.

    Nonethless, thank you Fixit Fairy!

  77. I can’t vote R either and I won’t vote D on the top row. I’m going 3rd party. Either Romney or Obama is a waste of my vote.

  78. Forgive and forget? No Freaking Way.

When they lost the Hill folks they lost some die-hards. My union monthly magazine now reads like a bunch of crap. It is all partisan spin and at least now, with new open eyes, I see through it all. Before the 08 debacle I toed the line and spewed the rhetoric and had my blinders on.

Never again. We can’t go back home – they ruined the foundation.

  79. Never forget. Never forgive.

    ******************
But isn;t that the problem with people like him…a couple of years will go by, everyone has a short memory and he’ll be a tv commentator. People like this have a long shelf life. Now if a woman had behaved this way…

  81. Oh my goodness…I am so glad for this post. Thank you Uppity! H*ll no, I won’t forget.

I am still PUMA in my heart…and I hope to vote Jill Stein in November! If not the top of my ticket will be BLANK.

  82. Never Forget. Never Forgive

  83. NEVER FORGET. NEVER FORGIVE.

  84. Ah! Two and Three are here!

  85. Madamab, sister, she is the ONLY candidate who flat out said she would literally fight for the equal rights of women. In spite of my allergy to the green thing, which I perceive as today’s version of the bomb shelter scare, cha ching, I may have to vote for her. Besides, I followed her to see what she was all about on Twitter, and she followed me right back. She appears to do her own tweets and doesn’t seem to have a lot of lackies around.

  86. Nice job Islander, rounding up the whole Island family on this most critical day.

  87. Karen, dear…ah…about that leftover pot roast. Mr. Uppity says he did not sneak-eat it, so that leaves you. Either that or he is lying. So you must tell me, fess up or deny, because he is sleeping and I have a knife.

  88. dwp, fixit fairy is a very nice person.

  89. Hey Madamab, are you stocking up on candy and shit? I see Bloomers is the official Sugar Nazi now. I am trying to find out where i should go to apply for a job with teh Sugar Police. Can you help me out on that?

  90. Oooooooooooo ‘source code’. Very technical.

  91. I must admit that the only positive aspect of Romney winning is watching Barack have a hissy fit and self-distruct in a fit of Narcissistic fury. It would be more fun than sex, and only second to a broiled lobster.

  92. Speaking of lobster. I do know that if he lost, the few remaining lobsters in existence, could shun their disguises and escape Michelle safely.

  93. Yes, I know what you mean about the green allergy, but that woman is seriously cool and deserving our vote, Sister Uppity. There are some very good women in the Green Party and it is VERY pro-equal rights.

Freaking Bloomberg. I am enough of a social libertarian to find his anti-soda crusade very troubling. I’m fine with not smoking in office buildings, but what is up with not smoking in parks? Sheesh. That guy is a little Napoleon.

  94. Madamab, I’m late with this but I want to say thank you with a huge hug for sending me those Draft Hillary bumper stickers. The islanders are driving them around with uppity audacity!

Ups, islander four can’t type and doesn’t have email but says to tell you she lurks a lot around this site — mostly for the cats — and because you’re such a gas! (what’s a gas?) Oh, also,, she says Never forget, never forgive and screw each and everyone of those bas***** every which way we can!

  95. I was there on the day democracy died in the alleged Democratic Party. Remembering how the SOBs wouldn’t let us come into the Sheraton, even though showers and thunderstorms over us at one point. Also recall the Obamobots were directed “do not engage” us. Met some great people, and learned so much from other volunteers who really worked bloody trenches, or waged brave campaigns during the primaries. Wish I’d arrived earlier for some of the rally (and we all wished even more people had attended to really fill up the place). Yet I stayed to the bitter end, and remember the nice young men who passed out the handbill for Riverdaughter, and told me about the PUMA movement. One blog led to another, and thankfully, we discovered Uppity, too.

Iremind people to this day about what the DNC RBC did, and how they gave away Hillary’s delegates in Michigan, based on Barack’s poll numbers. We will never foget.

  96. Islander, I hope you aren’t giving me credit for something I didn’t do…:-D….but I do wish Hillary were running again, indeed I do!

  97. Gotta go to bed now. Night Uppity and Uppities…

  98. Uppity, would just add: they say to forgive is to forget. We will not forget.

Also to madamab: feel sorry for New Yorkers with Bloomberg – agree, he’s certainly seems to have Napoleonic tendencies.

  99. Ahh, this day is not one to ever forget. The day sleaze and slime took over and suffocated sensibility.

And yes, look how well it worked out for this country. America is worse off now than 4 years ago. When is it going to improve?!?

Oh wait. The DNC has plans to sell Bo Bo to all the starry eyed again. And strong arm everyone else the Chicago way. Detritus should be so proud.

    Where’s my pony?!?

  100. islander, you tell Four for me that it is my pleasure to give her gas!

  101. madamab, ironically, Bloomers lands his copter illegally right next to apartments, where he blows toxic fumes into their open windows. And he’s worried about them drinking a pepsi….

  102. Liberty, if I had been there, I know for a fact I would probably STILL be in jail.

  103. upps, it was needlenose! The lock on the fridge door baffled me but the dog picked the lock and ran with the goods. Greasy paw prints on the carpet were cleaned up and I washed the tupperware too… seeing as your weilding a weapon…

  104. It would have been sweet to have Edwards found guilty today.

  105. Love this, Karen.

“Never again. We can’t go back home – they ruined the foundation.”

There’s no way most of us could forget that day. It was one of those painful experience that carries an important lesson with it. The Democratic Party that claims to fight for civil rights and equality for all Americans, actually fights for the civil rights and equality for everyone except women. Lesson learned. Message received.

    NEVER FORGET

  106. See, I admitted on Twitter that I was fond of John Edwards. This not only shows you what horrid taste I have, but I am being told I have to say 100 of teh Hail Marys for my sin.

  107. Now see, when I was a Catholic, I used to go to confession and I always had to say Teh Hail Marys. I kept trying to figure out what I could do not to get all those Hail Mary penances and then I figured it out. I stopped going to confession.

  108. Shoulda used the steno versions of the prayers… one consonant and one vowel per word. Cuts the pennance time by 85%.

  109. edit: “penance”. Tend to confuse the spelling with my Go Niners pennants!

  110. well dwp, I kinda thought HE should do teh Hail Marys because he so seemed to enjoy what I was telling him.

  111. Ack! TMI.

  112. TMI would have been if I said what I told him.

  113. Having a negative view of priests in general, I got this instant image of yet another slimy priest sitting in the darkened confessional doing …. god knows what.

  114. In response to Anita’s Beyonce vid…
I am exhausted that we are still making such faint progress.

In 1855 while speaking about the issues women face, Lucy Stone famously said

“…In education, in marriage, in religion, in everything, disappointment is the lot of woman. It shall be the business of my life to deepen this disappointment in every woman’s heart until she bows down to it no longer.” Over 150 years later, women are still overwhelmingly spoils of war and chattel denied income, equal rights, education, safety, and justice.”

  115. Elizabeth Edwards must be rolling in her grave wondering when he will get what is rightfully coming to him.

  116. For a self-admiring narcissist, he IS getting what is coming to him.He is banished.

  117. ” I could do not to get all those Hail Mary penances and then I figured it out. I stopped going to confession.”

Fucking brilliant!!! I was born an atheist but I do miss the Tridentine Mass. I remember as a kid watching “Mass for shut ins” on B&W TV and especially liking the Missa Cantata.

“Even Sarah Palin’s getting back into the game. Guest hosting on the ‘Today Show.’ Which reminds me of an old saying. What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull?” Obama joked at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night. “A pit bull is delicious.”

WE DO NOT FORGET. WE DO NOT FORGIVE.
