Mr. PotatoE Head Endorses Mitt!

Mitt is on a roll!!  First he picks up an endorsement from Lisa Murkowski and if that wasn’t enough…hold on to your potatoE heads….he scores the coveted Dan Quayle endorsement!  Way to go Romney!!!  Woo-hoo!!!

Im Dan Quayle and I aproovd this messidge!

(CNN) – Dan Quayle will throw his support behind GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Tuesday, CNN has confirmed.

He will “throw his support”…wow!  You know Dan Quayle has just soooo much political clout..why he just doesn’t know what to do with it all!!  The respect he commands in honor of his distinguished career is unmatched…..He’s a regular “King Maker” he is!

Who are you gonna endorse Danno? I dunno...who's your dad gonna endorse George?

The former Republican vice president, who served with former President George H.W. Bush, will make the announcement alongside Romney at an event in suburban Phoenix.

All  of America has no doubt been waiting on pins and needles to see who Dan Quayle would endorse….I know I’ve been anxiously awaiting the news.

I’m sure Romney will capitalize on this endorsement with some great photo-ops and maybe some posters and buttons!!!  This one looks about right…..

Voate four Mit becuz I sead sew!!!

  1. The Princess Lisa endorsement should help Newt with the Tea Party.

  2. Hey I would WANT Lisa’s endorsement. That woman made history as the first to ever get elected to congress on a write in ballot. Overall I would say that SOMEBODY liked her enough to vote for her and help her win.

The tea party would never endorse romney anyways. He’s not unbending enough.Consensus is a dirty word to them just like it’s a dirty word to the Regressives.

  3. Yeah, Mitt really didn’t win any tea party friends with the Murkowski endorsement, but they probably wouldn’t vote for him anyway.

  4. the tea party has bounced from one crackpot to another and that means Newt doesn’t need any help getting their endorsement.

  5. Murkowski could help Mitt in the general, but do you think she helps him in the primary?

  6. well that depends on the demographics of Alaskan Republicans. If it’s dominated by the far right, no. Otherwise, yes. The R primary season is going to go farther in 2012 than any of us have ever seen. A few early states are NOT going to pick the winner. This time out, if all the sane republicans go vote in the primary, there won’t be a crackpot for the winner.

    • Murkowski lost the primary because it was an off year and on off years, die hards vote in primaries and plenty of others stay home. The general election in Alaska confirmed that. She knew that the die hards dominated the primary and took a shot at her hunch…and was right. She also carries sway with plenty of moderate democrats there so that would help in the general…taking votes from Obama.

    • I first read myiq2xu’s comment as “The Princess Leia endorsement” and thought I must have missed something in a galaxy far far away.

    • Anyone need an Intelligent, caring and brave airline baggage employee – fired for protecting an abused canine (probably saved its life)?

Airport worker fired after refusing to load dog

RENO, Nevada (AP) — Airport baggage handler Lynn Jones saw the sad look on the listless, emaciated dog sitting in a pet carrier and knew something was wrong. Then she saw that its body was covered with sores and its paws were worn raw.

“It was so thin, it made me cry,” she said.

If that dog gets on that plane, she remembered thinking, it would certainly die. And when she refused a supervisor’s orders to load it onto the Texas-bound flight, she was fired.

    • Quayle must have pull with someone, somewhere, for candidates to want his endorsement; locally he’s been completely off the radar so I fail to see his relevance. Must be a backroom thing.

I’m not so sure I want SLC to be running the country through Mitt. Besides, how good of a human being can he be if he straps his dog to the top of the van? I know I don’t want a person who’d do that to lead my country.

This election is, again, like four years ago, a choice between the devil and the deep blue sea. Sigh.

    • Uppity:

I’m in moderation for too many links, I think.

So, I’ll change it here for the two most important – the Story and the contact page:

    • Do ya think an endorsement from Princess Leia would help? I’m grasping at straws here.

    • Dan Quayle for Mitt Romney, huh?

Someone needs to put Dan Quayle’s face on a fly-swatter.

    • Now they’re hawking this over in the UK.

Across the US, more than 5 million Americans are denied the right to vote on grounds that they were convicted of a felony, 4 million of whom have fully completed their sentence and almost half of whom are black or Hispanic.

Other measures have reduced the ease of early voting, a convenience that is disproportionately heavily used by African-Americans. Even more importantly, 34 states have introduced a requirement that voters carry photo ID cards on the day of the election itself.

Studies have showed that the proportion of voters who do not have access to valid photo ID cards is much higher among older African-Americans because they were not given birth certificates in the days of segregation. Students and young voters also often lack identification and are thus in danger of being stripped of their right to vote.

      http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/dec/05/civil-rights-naacp-voter-warning

I don’t know about y’all, but I don’t think there are that many convicted felons that care about voting. In Virginia you can petition the court five years after you complete your sentence, to get your voting rights back. Never, if you were convicted of a violent felony. I guess that’s racist too.

    • Oh yeah. Cause I want to be just like the UK. I want to go to hell in a handbasket with Sharia as a side dish. Where the hell do they get off criticizing us when they are serving as a horrible example of what happens when you care more about the rights of savages than you do about their victims? FCS cops can’t even us guns when needed. That’s helpful.

In the USA, felons don’t vote. Tough. We kinda have a problem with killers picking our presidents for us. Must be a flaw in our character. Tell you what. Why don’t we send them all to the UK and see how well it works out for them. We could send them to those ‘zones’ where Sharia laws are posted.

    • Bless that employee for saving that dog and DO write to the POS company that fired her. Show them how ‘seriously’ they should take this problem and in which direction.

    • Who the H wants an endorsement from a laughing stock moron who thought they spoke Latin in Latin America.

    • What the H was Mitt thinking? Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb…… What voters does that endorsement attract?

    • Oh screw the UK. Who the hell are they to be saying anything about our voting requirements?
I personally wish we would go to the Iraqi thing- get your finger dipped in purple ink when you vote- that way the OFA/ACORN voters will have a harder time multi-voting.

As for the Mr PotatoE head endorsement. That child was clearly “left behind” and is a stunning example of dumbed down American education.
This election cycle is going to be one hell of an entertaining slug fest.
      Pass the popcorn.

    • Who the H wants an endorsement from a laughing stock moron who thought they spoke Latin in Latin America.

Ahahahaha. Also, reminds me that Obama thought they spoke “Austrian” in Austria.

    • How many electoral votes does Alaska have in the GOP primary?

    • Your tax money at work for the Entitled. Food stamps can be used to buy Starbuck’s frappacinos.

    • 3 electoral votes.

    • Are you talking about delegate count NES? It’s more like 27. And don’t the Republicans have a winner take all policy?

    • I’m just going to jump in here and say this, Not everyone on food stamps or assistance is a flake, fraud or cheat.

After many years of working hard and paying taxes, I find myself in the postion of being so underemployed that I had to apply for them. Thank goodness there are resources available.

It was the hardest, most humiliating thing I have ever had to do.

So it enrages me to see people abusing the hell out of them!

    • Did y’all see Hillary in the news today?

JACKSON, Miss. — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has ordered an “extensive and thorough review” of a foreign exchange program that has been used by U.S. businesses as a source of cheap labor and exploited by criminals to import women to work in the sex industry.

      http://news.yahoo.com/feds-couple-claimed-welfare-lived-1-2m-home-175925304.html

Absolutely enrages me. As goofsmom notes above- some have worked hard all their lives and just need (and deserve) a little bit of help til they get back on track. And we are filled with shame and remorse and feel humiliated when we have to ask for help.
Then there are the a$$wipes like this woman and her husband committing fraud- and taking money to which they are NOT entitled and which they do not deserve. I hope the hell they are put to work to pay it all back!

    • PMM

“I hope the hell they are put to work to pay it all back!”

      Dittos… grrrrrr

    • Sorry, viv, I was in fact talking about delegate count. I think the Reeps, at least in a lot of states, have changed the winner-takes-all policy for their primaries. The fools!!

    • Yeah, there are 12 states that are winner take all, and Alaska isn’t one of them. AZ, CT, DE, DC, FL, MO, MT, NJ, NY, UT, VT, and VA. I had to look, cuz for some reason I thought it was all states.

    • From viv’s comment:

“Students and young voters also often lack identification and are thus in danger of being stripped of their right to vote.”

How could someone be a student, of voting age, and not have identification?

Funny post imust. Love the quayle button.

    • I’m starting to think that the no ID thing will be a Democratic talking point this time around. People losing their voting rights because they don’t have an ID. Really?? Not today. You need ID to do just about anything. I still can’t get over the violent felons needing to vote.

    • The students need to produce their ID to qualify for the special pricing on software. So they can find it to get Adobe Acrobat but not to vote?

    • If you can’t show you are a citizen, you don’t HAVE the right to vote. If you can show your ID to get SSI, medicaid and other benefits, you can show it to vote. The very fact that this is such a big deal is very telling.

    • You need ID to board a plane.

    • Quale had a bad habit of talking while being filmed. This clip doesn’t have the potatoe or the Hitlerism. What an idiot.

    • OT – but this is a MAJOR victory – a much needed correction to the under-reporting of Rape cases to the national crime statistics.

FBI Takes Major Step Toward Updating Narrow Definition Of Rape

      Excerpts:

Currently, the FBI defines rape as the “carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will.”

This definition, which has not been updated since 1929, is narrower than the one used by many police departments around the country, and women’s rights advocates say it leads to the under-counting of thousands of sexual assaults each year.

The new terminology says rape is “penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.”

This new definition expands the old one by taking out the requirement of a “forcible” assault and the restriction that the attack must be toward a woman. It also now includes non-vaginal/penile rape and rape by a blood relative.

      :snip:

“It’s a great victory,” said Eleanor Smeal, president of Feminist Majority Foundation, in a statement. “This new definition will mean that, at long last, we will begin to see the full scope of this horrific violence, and that understanding will carry through to increased attention and resources for prevention and action.”

      :snip:

For example, in 2010, the Chicago Police Department reported nearly 1,400 sexual assaults. None of them, however, appeared in the federal crime report because they didn’t fit the federal government’s definition of rape.

      http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/06/fbi-definition-of-rape_n_1132913.html

    • You need ID to cash a check. Of course, those that were hired to vote for Bo, multiple times and/or under different names in the 2008 primaries, probably got paid in cash.😆

    • “Students and young voters also often lack identification and are thus in danger of being stripped of their right to vote.”

So instead of fighting voter ID laws and allowing democracy to be subverted, how about a simple public service message about six months before each presidential election? Something like:

“Hey, idiots! If you want to vote in the next election, you need to get a photo ID! If you can’t get your butt in gear, then that’s your choice to not vote!!!

“So remember, idiots kids, it’s as easy as 1-2-3! 1 – get a photo ID, 2- register to vote, 3- vote! If you can’t handle this, you may need to repeat elementary school!”

    • Heh, heh. Or pot & cheetos.

    • mcnorman,

Yep, sickening, enraging and depressing. It’s idiots like these that make it hard for decent people to even think about applying for help.

At some point you have to but every cell in your body screams out “NO”. You don’t want to be labeled, don’t want to see family and friends drift away because you had to apply for (whisper… food stamps)

    • @goofsman,
The programs were always meant to help during the worst of times. I resent generational entitlement.

I was in the WIC store the other day. No, I didn’t go to spy. 🙂

They are now open to the public and the one around the corner is set up like a convenience store. They have the best avocado selection in town bar none. The cash pay prices are steep compared to the grocery store down the street, but the payout in flavor is worth it. (I used to travel to the wholesale distributor for these babies until he told me where and to who he delivered.)

I saw some families that really were struggling. You can tell because they didn’t pick the ready made sandwiches, popsicles, chips to go, just the staples to feed the family. Then there were the others who loaded up on all of the ready made stuff like Oscar Meyer sandwiches in a lunch box. It is disheartening.

WE have a lot of fraud in my town. A helping hand is something totally different from the enabling hand. This woman was so upset she kills herself and shoots her two kids in Laredo, TX after being denied food stamps. This woman was on Facebook talking about dying which leads me to believe that she was mentally unstable. Her kids were scared of her as she had made threats before.
