VA State Sen. Janet Howell amends mandatory ultrasound bill with mandatory rectal exams for the boyz

We just want to treat you equally, boyz!

Now this is my kind of elected woman.

To protest a bill that would require women to undergo an ultrasound before having an abortion, Virginia State Sen. Janet Howell (D-Fairfax) on Monday attached an amendment that would require men to have a rectal exam and a cardiac stress test before obtaining a prescription for erectile dysfunction medication.

Bahahahaha. You lame asses who swallow all that Viagra so you can pretend to yourself that you are young, virile and attractive and your little penis still works, take the stress test and the rubber glove that was previously placed in the freezer just for you! And pay for it out of your own pockets, you meddling, perpetual vagina-probing assholes. Get on that treadmill, you big old slob!

“We need some gender equity here,” she told HuffPost. “The Virginia senate is about to pass a bill that will require a woman to have totally unnecessary medical procedure at their cost and inconvenience. If we’re going to do that to women, why not do that to men?”

Because, Senator Howell, men can do what they want. Wimminz have to do what men tell them they can do. After all, their patron saint, Tony Scalia,  son of a card-carrying Mussolini Party dude,  has helped these boyz point this out, now that its official that women are  not protected by the Constitution. Boy are you in trouble, you Uppity Woman, you!

The amendment failed, 21-19, but Senator Howell pointed out that 13 of those votes were men. Actually 13 of those were Real Men whose manhood isn’t threatened by a creature with a vagina sitting next to them in the senate chambers.

……And of course, the Republicans whipped out one of their Stepford Girlz who gets by very nicely when she helps the Patriarchy control women:

Sen. Jill Vogel (R-Fauquier County), the sponsor of the mandatory ultrasound bill, voted against it.

“I do believe that erectile dysfunction in this context is different from pregnancy,” she said on the senate floor.

Nice job little wimmin. One day your turn will come. Trust me, you are not exempt, just delayed.

**If you want to donate to Senator Howell’s coffers, go here. After all, helping her to take the next step toward a Congressional seat would be your pleasure, wouldn’t it? Or, you can just email her and thank her for standing up for her gender.

h/t Anne.

  1. I like it!!!! 🙂

  2. Never heard of her, thanks for the heads up Anne, it’s good to see them hit back

    UW: Isn’t this UTAH’s homestate

  3. No Michelina. Utah was born in California and currently lives in Utah.

  4. I enjoy your probing commentary.

  5. UW: sent the Senator a note

I know one of us is from Virginia——-will have to wait and see who
    it is

  6. Michelina, that’s Vivien I think.

  7. Marco Rubio already at work to overturn the administration’s contraception mandate

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio today will introduce “The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 2012,” a bill that would reverse the Obama administration’s recent confirmation of its decision to force religious employers — in conflict with their religious beliefs — to provide employees with insurance that would cover contraceptives and abortifacients.

  8. MQ: something seriously wrong with these people, they want us back to the 50’s & 60’s where they did Hack jobs and back door abortions,

    sick, sick people————

thanks UW: will have to ask her about this new Senator we are just finding out about

  9. Why can’t we have more like this woman?
    On a totally different note-
It is 4:30 in the afternoon and it is 56 degrees out. The first snowdrop pushed up through the ground today- I can just see the flower bud.
    Why is it I am not surprised that it happened today? {sigh}

  10. Geez- I went and read the old vasectomy post- Jan 2011- what the hell is it about January? Oh that’s right- it’s “THE” anniversary. The crazies must come out in January to remind us they are intent on reversing ANY and ALL legislation that advances the notion women are human beings capable of handling freedom and choice. From the end of Uppity’s post last year

Note: Part of this post is a rerun, I know. Whoda thunk we would need to see it again. How much you wanna bet we’ll need to see it again, and again, and again?

Yes Uppity- again and again and again.
Might as well just schedule it for an off day in January for the foreseeable future.

  11. OT: Maybe the Smiths should remake their old song and call it “Big Meat Strikes Again”. 👿

  12. Back-street abortions on the rise, global report warns

A long-term fall in the global abortion rate has tapered off and the number of unsafe pregnancy terminations is rising worryingly, according to a report published by The Lancet on Thursday.

Around the world, unsafe abortions accounted for 220 deaths per 100,000 procedures in 2008 — 35 times the rate for legal abortions in the United States — and for nearly one in seven of all maternal deaths.

Keywords: “developing countries” (like the one we seem to be reverting to.)

Only neanderthals would use greater science and technologies to maim or kill more women and drive up medical costs.

In the “economy” of women’s health and access to services, the rights of women – especially poorer women – isn’t what’s important.

  13. Remember that sh!tbag Senator Kyl demanding that obstectrics not be covered in health care reform because he “doesn’t need it” and doesn’t want to pay for it?

  14. I hate to say this…

…But, isn’t it interesting that the one’s primarily behind these “Morality Bills” hardly blink when it comes to blowing up women, pregnant women, children, families and communities by the hundred of thousands in other countries?

I know “war” is a necessary evil, but that “morality” argument is bullshit.

  15. …when it comes to the war against women having reproductive choice.

  16. Because wimminz are nothing but trouble. For a society to remain sovereign, women must be subdued, men must be virile.

  17. Y’know, if the mens stopped eating phoods with soy and bovine groth hormone, they wouldn’t have man boobs and shrunken testicles and they wouldn’t need viagra.

  18. Nah–we don’t need tin foil hats: Leaked documents reveal US diplomats actually work for Monsanto.

We DO need to be more like the Hungarians: Hungary Destroys All Monsanto GMO Corn Fields.

  19. Now doesn’t this just suck?

The Associated Press reports that Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the nation’s leading breast-cancer charity, will cut off its funding to Planned Parenthood affiliates, where the foundation has traditionally paid for preventive screening services.

According to the AP, the move will mean “a cutoff of hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants, mainly for breast exams.”

Komen said it could not continue to fund Planned Parenthood because it has adopted new guidelines that bar it from funding organizations under congressional investigation. The House oversight and investigations subcommittee announced in the fall an investigation into Planned Parenthood’s funding.

    OK–I’ll shuddup now….(maybe)

  20. haaaa! Yeah Uppity! The desire to control women’s reproductive rights has nothing to do with God or Jesus, and everything to do with control. They doubt our humanity and do not think that we have the intellectual or moral capacity to make decisions that will impact our lives, our health or the lives of our families.Yet they revere life, just not the lives of women. They believe that we are slightly better than domesticated animals because we have lingustic abilities. They need to protect us from ourselves, because what is it we girls so when go out to the spa? I’ll have a mani and a pedi and a d &c. Dumber than bags of hair. Does anyone with the brains of a flea think abortions are wonderful?

And what the hell are conservative men doing discussing women’s privates in public? Yuck. Guys, they call them “privates” for a reason–they are not up for public discussions Is this a legislative body or a freaking gyno convention?

Oh, and Rick Sanitarium, as an Episcopalian, I believe there are eleven commandments. The 11 th is mind your own damn business.

  21. Soph–since the metallic foil has not been made of tin for decades, but rather aluminum, I prefer the term “Wrap Cap” (as in Reynolds Wrap) to “tinfoil hat”.

    But yes–regulatory capture: it’s what’s for dinner. 😡

  22. Oh, and to post on the topic of the thread (what a novel idea! 😛 ), speaking as a Pecker-American, I would favor Sen. Howell’s notion–as long as it provides an exemption for men willing to sign a document stating “I support equality for women, including freedom of reproductive choice.”

  23. Hey Monster–the stuff you use to wrap your food and make clean up a breeze, the stuff they use for soda cans, the foil inside a cigarette pack, and the wrapper around an Eskimo pie–all that stuff is aluminum. BUT, the only stuff that will protect you from the zoomies is tin.

  24. I SOOOOO hate Monsanto. I just do not have the energy today to rant. Everybody here has heard me carry on about those dirty rat bastards anyway.
Control the food – control the people. Add in water takeovers-
Please God, more countries stand up to these bastards.

  25. Have polls closed in FL? Did Mittens clean Newtie’s clock?

  26. Why stop there. Why not insist on mandatory colonoscopies for those men too even though they are not really cost-effective in detecting colorectal cancer.

  27. Good for Howell.

  28. Hilarious!!!

  29. “Have polls closed in FL? Did Mittens clean Newtie’s clock?”

    Yes, and yes!

  30. Thank you, sweet jesus!

With 51 percent of precincts reporting, Romney is leading with 48 percent. Gingrich has 31 percent, followed by Rick Santorum with 13 percent and Ron Paul with 7 percent.

  31. It’s a fine day, Anthony. Thank you Florida!!

  32. Can I get an “Amen!”, NES?

  33. ““The Virginia senate is about to pass a bill that will require a woman to have totally unnecessary medical procedure at their cost and inconvenience.”
State legislatures shouldn’t be dictating the practice of medicine based on self a interested misinterpretation of a Bronze age religion. That said, I think that Janet Howell shouldn’t be giving medical advise when she makes the “totally unnecessary medical procedure” statement..

I haven’t done extensive research on the topic, but I think that ultrasound exam pre-abortion and, depending on the procedure, post abortion is the standard of care. This is especially true for early pregnancy less than 49 days, when the woman is eligible for a non-surgical termination of pregnancy.

  34. @ Anthony

  35. Great Post Uppity. GREAT WOMAN!!! I’ll drop her a thank you!

Looks like Snewt won all the redneck counties (Said with autenticity and legitimately as I am from Georgia – albeit Atlanta)

  36. I think She Who Will Not Be Named has finally lost her mind.

  37. AMEN, brother Anthony!

  38. Yes, FF, she has.

  39. FF, you’re a Georgia rose?

  40. That’s Peach, NES – and yes I am

  41. Mom, sincerest condolences to you and your family! Am so sorry to hear about your brother. xoxoxo

  42. Its probably a good thing Sanatorium & Paul have stayed in. Their nutty supporters would probably have gone for Snewt.

Great post Uppity. I will email her a thanks.

  43. Everyone is making fun of Snewt lately. Stewart & Colbert (of course), but also TMZ & I looked at NQ last night and every post they had up yesterday was slammin’ old Snewt. He’s the type of person, that if you don’t like him, you r e a l l y don’t like him.

  44. YUK – Snewt is on. “Conceding”

  45. Can Callista talk?

  46. Channeling Lincoln now.

  47. Soph: Actually, a yellow cap or bandanna on your head will do the trick–oh no, wait, that protects your head from Oan power ring energy.

  48. So much for Conceding. He is campaigning. (and giving Mitt new ammo)

  49. Here’s my comment on the FL primary at the other place.

Well, that was quick and ugly (the FL primary). Sorta the way you’d think sex with Newt would be.

  50. It is a brilliantly funny comment, Fredster. And, it bears repeating.

  51. Newt is incapable of conceding. Someone should shoot him into space before he leaves FL.

  52. We can’t NES – the last President from his Party killed NASA Funding – the current one implemented it.

  53. Huffpoo had a funny headline to the FL primary results story.

  54. Ron Paul sounds completely NORMAL tonight

  55. FF how many drinks have you had??? Ron Paul sounds normal.

  56. PMM, my sympathy.

    Uppity, loved the post.

  57. Then let’s ship Newt to China so that they can shoot him into space. It’ll be our best export to China.

  58. Not drinking a thing Somebody – water only! LOL

  59. Gotta go to bed. Been moving furniture around my house today.

Sam’s Club (UGH!!!!!) tomorrow with Charlotte.

  60. VA State Sen. Janet Howell amends mandatory ultrasound bill with mandatory rectal exams for the boyz

What’s good for the goose, is good for the gander.

  61. Part of my note to Sen Howell; “…and that seldom, IF EVER, are men REQUIRED BY LAW to be poked, prodded, x-rayed, given psychiatric evaluations or required to have spiritual counseling when making a choice about their personal health.”

  62. Mom, so sorry to hear about your bro. Condolences to the family and his friends and loved ones.

  63. FF, go Costco – they have great deals on wine

  64. Fredster, LOL! i guess his pandering to Floridians with his Moon colony didn’t pay off.

  65. When I saw that Exelon story I started the oft repeated rant in my head. We told them – exelon, rezko, blago, ayers, etc. etc….

    Hopey-changy flavored poison.

  66. Well I left to go watch Justified and then fell asleep damnit!

Also, it’s a travesty what they call “analysis” on both MSNBC and CNN.

MSNBC had the usual crew and when CNN called on their political experts that included Donna Brazile, I switched that off too!

On a bright note, they are replaying Justified now. 🙂

  67. ^^^ so much for that open-door policy.

  69. Jeez. My step dad ran a cement plant in a village outside Bangalore, India for 3 years in the 60s. He really enjoyed it. He build a school and a hospital for the area, and they were both named after him. He still received letters from his former employees there until he died a couple of years ago. He was a very kind man. I worked for him myself for awhile and he was a wonderful boss.

  70. NES@1:54: And I’m not even drinking!!

  71. Snewt is as nutty as Santorum or Paul. Did you see the pix of the two kids holding the signs at the bottom of the article? Funny expression on their two faces, bored stiff. I think all 3 are hanging on, hoping something catastrophic will come out about Mittens. The whole repub primary is an ongoing comedy show. Stewart & Colbert & the other late niters will probably be sad when its over.

  72. NES, I agreed with you over at the neighbors about Wash State NOT being conservative. I couldn’t believe someone thought it was.

  73. I *do* wonder how Romney will fare in the more typical southern states, AL, MS, GA, LA. They are more like South Carolina.

  74. socal said: Stewart & Colbert & the other late niters will probably be sad when its over.

Oh definitely. It’ such easy to use material.

  75. 1 sad camper over Newt’s loss.

  76. I slept (blissfully) thru FL primary nite….
This morning there is an email response from VA Senator Howell. Seems she’s capable of taking whatever comes her way in stride:

Thank you so much for your response. I am responding for Senator Howell as she is in meetings. Senator Howell is unable to accept contributions during legislative session. After March 10 when the session ends she will once again have “contribute” button on her website.

The Senator truly appreciates the nationwide response she has received to her amendment. I commend you for your citizen involvement on this critical issue.

    Legislative Assistant

    32nd District, Virginia

PS Uppity. nice rant in lorac’s post above!
PPS: lorac: thank you for this Feb 1 post. it is great. woman confronting obama is competent. Maybe she’ll seek elected office sometime soon. we need her too.

  77. What? Howell doesn’t have an automated response letter that covers everything and nothing? Why, she’s gotta go!

  78. LOL Pamela. I KNOW it was major OT but I couldn’t help it.

  79. I too admittedly slept through the primary results. I went to bed obscenely early due to …..well due to being really tired. lol. Anyways, the result was I was up at 3:30. I’m sure I’ll be feeling really chipper around 5PM, right?

  80. Mittens cleaned Newtie’s clock and reset the time!!!! 😆

  81. I thought this article was a joke. Turns out the author is. Acting agressive and assertive still doesnt make two wrongs right. These girls are very confused.

Dear Blower. Sorry if his offends your little penis. When we want any shit from you, we’ll squeeze your head. If you want to control a vagina, get your own. K THX, BAI!

  82. You know what? I think men should be forced to have spiritual counseling before being allowed to buy condoms so they can stop killing all those potential babies.

  83. Don’t spam Blower, Mods. I want everybody to see what an idiot he is.

  84. Oops, sorry. I spammed that bugger.

  85. Every sperm is precious.

  86. Blower blows…all sizes. (Thought I’d say it before Fredster did.)

  87. When we want any shit from you, we’ll squeeze your head.

    EEEWWWWWWWWW…not without hazmat gloves on!!

  88. Yes sperm is precious! That is why we must make vasectomies illegal! If God didn’t want it to be used to only make babies, lots and lots of babies, he wouldn’t him given them their tools! Perhaps we should demonstrate in front of vasectomy clinics!

  89. “Two wrongs don’t make a right” Translation: So take what we give you and shut up, bitch.

  90. I think we should sew up the openings.

  91. God killed Onan for “spilling his seed” on the ground.

  92. Yeah myiq, how come all those churches don’t push for THAT being illegal.
