  1. D’awww cute! 🙂

If I’d known this thread was coming, I wouldn’t have bothered to post this on the last thread.

Tsukasa wishes you all a Happy Valentine’s Day.

  2. Happy St Valentine’s Day to you Uppity and Bill and Needlenose- and to all the Uppityites!

  3. Cute! Happy Valentine’s Day Uppityville!

  4. Happy Valentine’s Day from England….hope you are all enjoying the day with your loved ones. See? Even on vacay, I still gotta get my dose of Uppity and friends. XXX

  5. Hey good to see ya Ireland. Hope you are having a good time! Reminds me, I hope Justme stops by too.

  6. Happy Valentines Day to all. Eat a bit of chocolate and drink a bit of wine tonight.

  7. Happy Valentine’s Day, Uppity, Bill, and Uppityites!

My, I went to your broken hearts link, it said that on Valentine’s Day, the visitors double!

  8. Yeah broken hearts. I always wondered why anyone would want to take back a person who ripped your heart out. I mean, whatever a person will do once, he/she will do again. What do you do in a case like that, live life waiting for the shoe to drop again? No trust and sense of peace, no relationship worth hanging onto. Just my opinion. Goes for friends, too.

  9. I always wondered why anyone would want to take back a person who ripped your heart out.

The more you suffer, the more it shows you really care.

  10. Uppity, I am having trouble picking the perfect valentine for you from this selection:

  11. Happy Valentine’s Day. Uppityites. 😉

  12. first time for everything. :lol; :lol;
    I,m in moderation!!!

  13. fished out, girlfriend

  14. thanks Upps.it was my boo boo.(I,m sooooo good at that thingy)

  15. ROFL votermom! I think I like the Obama one: Let me be clear. I love you. But I still won’t use lube.

  16. The more you suffer, the more it shows you really care.

Yes. Nothing says Happiness like making you suffer.

I could design a series of cards, starting with, “Come back! There’s a part of my face you haven’t stepped on yet”. Bet they would sell!

  17. Boy huffpo has really gone into the gutter. Now they have a piece, “Rejoice! The swimsuit edition is here’ (sports illustrated). these people are gutter vermin. Every day there is another way to objectify women or make some sexist slams. Huffp and AOL. A match made in gutter heaven.

  18. Hey Foxy, I’ll always drag you out of the quicksand!

  19. oh bless your heart. 🙂

  20. John Stewart was off all last week with the Insantorum surge and the contraception brouhaha, but he was back last nite and took it on. Very funny. There are two parts to click on, the first one is called the Vagina Ideologues, and then the next part is about the absurdity of Sean Hannity having a group of religious leaders (ie nuts) talk about the birth control stupidity. They were all men! And they don’t get it. Then one of them compares this to the Nazis. Its unbelievable.

  21. As monty python said in the holy grail flic – bring out your dead.

  22. obama’s not getting his loving these days. He got enough ass kissing in 2008 to last him 4 years tho.

Matt Damon – the thrill is gone. boo hoo you.

  23. btw, is PMM okay? I figure she is traveling to see family after their loss but the last we heard she was sticking near home and had tested for the civil servant job.

Hugs to all. Especially the single Uppityites that won’t be having ribs tonight.

xxoo to bill and his cutie kitteh too.

  24. I am sure Mom’s okay, she sent me an email yesterday. She probably just go busy.

  25. wot, not dead yet? oh don’t be such a baby. always cracks me up.

Love that and the dead parrot python skit too. The dead parrot can vote, surely. Must be a Chicago parrot.

dogs against romney. i was waiting for this to hit the fan…

  26. Hi karen! Thanks for thinking of me- things are just nuts around here- it’s spring, no wait- it’s winter, it’s spring again for a minute- then it’s winter- pffffttttt

  27. See? Toldja she’s fine.

  28. Just goes to show you what a horrible president Obama is. I am willing to vote for a guy who strapped his dog to his car just to throw him out of office once and for all.

  29. but but it was in a box. 😆 😆

  30. not defending Mittens at all here.ok?????
however in the Summer I see Dogs with their heads hanging out of the window all the time 🙂

  31. I know foxy, I try to rationalize it too. But the dog and car needed to be hosed down. It was not a happy dog, clearly, if it got sick all over the car. At least they took the dog along, I guess…. grrrrrrrrrrrr.

I had two monster shepherd-dobie mix dogs and a cat and they all rode inside with us. Always took them on vacations even if it meant driving very far and staying in terrible motels that allowed dogs. We had to camp out often since many places wouldn’t take dogs. Family don’t go on the roof.

  32. Happy Valentines day (((UPPITY’S))))))

    Lost my Michelina last week———-

    Love you guys

  33. It’s been very hard for me to tell you all————–

    she was a beautful doggie

  34. gotta go ——see you in the a.m.

  35. Sorry for your great loss, Michelina. XO

  36. {{{Michelina}}} xoxoxo SOOO sorry for your loss. 😦

  37. So sad Michelina. So sorry for you. They are with us forever in our hearts.

  38. Happy Valentine’s Day, Uppityites!

  39. NES: Interesting comments in and after the article. Folks don’t get it–the groping isn’t to keep the passengers safe–it’s to keep the next target from becoming a target. No one really gives a crap what happens to passengers. Yet, there are all these people saying how they’re willing to endure the discomfort to be safe.

  40. After 911 Sophie, and other terrorist attempts involving aircraft such as the shoe bomber and the underwear bomber guy, it is safer to fly when every one is checked for weapons.

When I was a kid flying annually to my uncle near Miami we were always afraid we’d be hijacked to Cuba.

  41. Cuba Libre! I’d love to visit Cuba. Can we do that now?

  42. It’s a good, albeit depressing, piece: http://www.americanthinker.com/2012/02/thanks_to_conservative_issues_obama_now_holds_all_the_cards.html
(I find most fare on the American Thinker website to be extremely right-wing and nutty, but this one stands out as a shining exception.)

  43. After 911 Sophie, and other terrorist attempts involving aircraft such as the shoe bomber and the underwear bomber guy, it is safer to fly when every one is checked for weapons

Obviously, I don’t personally subscribe to that line of thinking and that’s why I don’t fly unless it’s absolutely unavoidable. I don’t think all the BS is making us any safer. I think it’s controlling. I used to go all over the place. I’ve flown twice since 9/11.

  44. NES, The American Thinker article was depressing as hell. I want to believe that sanitations rise is just another boil in this whacky primary year and he will soon lose his trajectory and go pissssssssst like the rest of the brief also rans.

I sure can see obama slithering to a win again but that just makes me recoil in horror. Again. Unreal. Sigh. What sanitation does have is an ego and the mistaken belief he is righteous and God is on his side and he is morally discerning and above everyone else. That man is delusional – and the scathe thing is – people believe him and are following him…. shades of 2008 and the Messiah obama. Just as insane then and now. They are both so inept and wrong headed.

  45. NES:

That AT piece was written by John Zeigler. He’s about as reliable and insightful as Dick Morris. Morris has to squeeze some CDS into everything. Zeigler does the same with PDS.

  46. Sophie, I have family all over and have flown a few times a year my whole life. I do not mind it. I lived in NY during 911. They can search.me all they want. I mostly fly from JFK, they have stopped my bag for odd shapes a few times. A large cylinder candle. A snorkle often makes them do a double take and ask. A large bag of food…. I like to snack…. questioned but allowed. Maybe I’ve been lucky but so far no drama or problems personally. I do feel bad for people who have had horrible experiences traveling. SOme horrible stories from innocent people, for sure.

  47. Karen: I also lived in NY during 9/11. I do mind it. I feel like the terrorists won–we are no longer free.

  48. Michelina! I am sorry to hear about your beloved big puppy! I know you must be devastated. You have my email address if you need me. RIP Michelina, you beautiful dog, you.

  49. Okay so does this bunch look like a threat to “overthrow the government” or just a group of white trash in serious need of some Vitamin D supplements? Seriously, folks. Holder should be in prison right now for running guns and killing people and they round up these inbred knuckleheads? They look like they couldn’t take over a strawberry patch much less a government.

  50. Did you guys see this? Apparently barkys “compromise” wasn’t enough. The vagina wars are still roaring along. Keep it up assholes. At this point, I don’t think I could ever support another conservative again.

“The measure, proposed by Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) would amend the Affordable Care Act to allow any employer to exclude any health service coverage, no matter how critical or basic, by claiming that it violates their religious or moral convictions. Moreover, according to the National Women’s Law Center, the amendment would remove critical non-discrimination protections from the Affordable Care Act. For instance, an insurer could deny maternity care coverage to a same-sex couple, an interracial couple or a single woman for religious or moral reasons.”

“Let’s be clear about what’s at stake,” said Carney. “The proposal being considered in the Senate applies to all employers — not just religious employers. And it isn’t limited to contraception. Any employer could restrict access to any service they say they object to. That is dangerous and it is wrong. Decisions about medical care should be made by a woman and her doctor, not a woman and her boss.”

  51. Michelina, so very sorry about your dear pet. Condolences and hugs to you.

  52. What’s next, home inspections?

  53. Those Hutaree militia types may be well armed but they aren’t very dangerous. They hole up in their rural compounds and fondle their weapons while talking about overthrowing the government.

But their plans for revolution are aspirational, not operational.

  54. I know, Karen….deeeeepressssssing. But, much as I’m loathe to admit it, I’m beginning to think we’re facing a 60-40 prospect of a second term for the Unmentionable.

  55. Good to know, myiq.

  56. My BIL used to run a gun shop. You meet interesting people in those places.

  57. WTF, socal! These effin’ Reep Congresscritters alwaaaaaays overplay their hand! Obama’s laughing all the way to reelection. Chit, at this rate I’m gonna have to vote for Roseanne Barr!

  58. Sophie, after livin

  59. For instance, an insurer could deny maternity care coverage to a same-sex couple, an interracial couple or a single woman for religious or moral reasons.”

I’m pretty sure discriminating in any way against an interracial couple, even for a religion, is against the law…?

But whoa. Talk about opening the door to Sharia taking precedence over our laws.

To me, this is all so crazy. A religion should be setting their own standards, but this IS America, and people are allowed to make their own choices. Religion shouldn’t be forced compliance – that’s Shariah and dictators and just not America. I really wish religion (well, not all do it) would stop being so controlling. I think they’re getting desperate, especially Catholics. I know they’re having problems getting people to become priests and nuns, and churches aren’t as full as they used to be (except maybe those nontraditional megachurches).

It’s one thing to have principles, but if the entire world practically sees things differently than you do (parishioners vs. popey people), maybe it’s time to reevaluate rules vs expectations vs political activism! Maybe it’s time to support rare and safe, rather than abstinence and no abortion, which is so incredibly unrealistic.

  60. Michelina – xxxxxxoooooo

  61. oops. hit send. damn little buttons.

Sophie, the wy I see it, the world has always been a dangerous place and the good people just have to protect themselves and try to crush as many cockroaches as they can. And yes, the world did shift that day. A lot changed. Toothpaste can’t go back in the tube.

  62. I noticed in myiq’s link about the school lunch police that they took away the kids lunch with a turkey sandwich and gave it chicken nuggets?!?! Nasty nuggets are extremely unhealthy. And usually made with chicken breast meat that is loaded up with hormones. And the blonde woman is right, pre-schoolers are unbelievably fussy eaters.

  63. A Fundie Muslim employer straight off the Afghanistan express could refuse insurance coverage for Everything for wimminz. Can’t have people touching them even if they are on the floor writhing inn pain. Roy Blunt’s amendment below. I am so sick of the insane crackpot bastards we have in Congress. The third wave still filing their nails, hey? While congress is turning them into Chattel. Here’s his amendment:

Zealots ALWAYS go too far. It’s their hallmark.

  64. Re school lunch. Like I said, Zealots ALWAYS overplay their hand. If I were that mother, I’d be the shot heard round the world. Keep the hell out of MY parental business.

  65. I bet lorac wednesday is going to be interesting.

  66. Yep. Wouldn’t be surprised if she’s working on it now.

  67. I looked at that amendment. It looks like pure crackpot-ery.

  68. Under the Blunt Crackpot Amendment, women employers should cut male employees off from Low T treatments, vasectomies, Viagra and prostate exams. See the piggies squeal.

  69. lorac was writing while PISSED! lol

  70. You need to check mail stat.

  71. UW,PMM, Karen, Lorac, Socal: Thank you so much for your Love,

Michelina and I return it xxxxoooo(davey too)————

  72. Michelina, sorry about your pet. Condolences and hugs to you.XOXOXO
