Poll: What’s Noc really saying?

***Note: See disgusting update below***

This is NOC The Beluga Whale.

He’s in captivity. As in Not Free.

Obviously he loves his captors and prefers not being free. In fact, he’s so grateful for his captive life, he wants to talk to his prison wardens and tell them all kinds of loving things, including how he wants to be just like them.

Every time I see the video below in one form or another – and its accompanying Blabbers telling the “Story,” I find myself  fervently wishing some vigilante group shows up and frees this poor whale from its moronic captors.

The media and People- Who- Study- Things- on- Government- Grant- Money have been all a’giggle about NOC  because someone decided that, since all creatures want to be just like humans –because humans are so special, — NOC has studied hard and  learned to mimic human talking points just like what you might hear on FOX or MSNBC, or some such shit.

Yes that’s right. While NOC  is making sounds similar to what any kid can do using a cardboard toilet paper roll, also known as a “Der Der,” America’s brightest people have taken time off from curing cancer and diabetes or solving world hunger to analyze what NOC has been saying, and they have concluded he’s mimicking his ‘superiors’ in awe and admiration.

Even though listening to NOC is a significant step up from listening to Chris Matthews, Sean Hannity or NBC’s mediocre Sympathy Hire, Luke Russert,  I think this is moose poop. Just because the poor thing has a permanent smile affixed to his face, doesn’t mean he’s thrilled with his lot in life. A mortician can massage a smile onto a corpse too. For starters, this whale is probably so stressed out knowing he’s going to remain tanked by idiots for the rest of his miserable life so that People Who Study Things can stare at him day and night, he’s……well…..he’s Wailing, scuse the pun

Or just maybe that noise NOC makes does indeed mimic in yodle-fashion what stupid humans sound like to him no matter WHAT they are saying.

So my poll question is: What do you think NOC is actually saying here?

***Our update comes to us from our member Hugo

I was not sure how I felt about this beluga whale story because I’m not opposed to studying animal behavior and I assumed Noc was living in an aquarium. But I found an article that provides some details baout his capture and the research that he and other belugas were exposed to by the US Navy and Sea World. The whale and two others that were simultaneously captured and put into a resaerch program are all now dead. Here’s a link to the article.

Note that at the end it discusses why this video is now being publicized when the whale has been dead for a number of years. The author links the release to new attempts to import Belugas from Russia to the Georgia Aquarium after which some will end up in Sea Wolrd San Diego and the US Navy research program.

Nasty business.

Indeed. And disgusting.

  1. TV news showed an elephant talking the other day. I think animals have always talked and if we heard their comments on what they really think of us we might lose some of our hubris.

  2. NBC should hire the elephant. It would be a huge step up from that nepositic moronic fratboy, Luke Russert. The only thing he inherited from his old man is a face for radio.

  3. Prominant goatfucking Saudi Cleric tortures his five year old daughter to death.

  4. I went to that oppressed women site and clicked on their other articles. What a world we live in. So sad. The UK cab driver story is so depressing. Sometimes I wonder what century this is. We have not come a long way, baby – not in NY, not in London, not anywhere.

  5. On my way out to work so will make this brief. This is why because of that little girl and all little girls around the world I pray that Israel gets enough and they just start blowing the hell out of all these goat fuckers. It is the only way we will end this. Yes innocents will die but then are they not as we speak ? I heard 11 Israelis died from a missile yesterday. 5 women 4 children and 2 men. Given that it is enough to make me want to see them do it not to mention these people have to duck into bomb shelters daily and live in constant fear. On behalf of this little girl savagely murdered and the numbers of women who have acid thrown in their faces or are shot to death or stoned to death these animals need to be taken off this planet and now !!! There is no reasoning with them and as Uppity said cease fires never work. They only know death so death it shall be to them !!

  6. Here’s how it goes in Gaza. Hamas, (what part of this is a terrorist organization do people not understand?) lobs missiles at israel day and night and when Israel strikes back, they whine about how israel hurt them.

What a crock of crap. And people buy it.

  7. They use women and children as shields and then wail that women and children got killed. It’s the same old crap with these goatfuckers, it’s never ending.

  8. Luv the post Uppity.
But then Madame Belle and I love you and Bill for being so lovely with all the other species we share this earth with.
I guess I’m in the lovey dovey mood today. So what, love is the force of life.
And the problem with all those goatfuckers is that they do not believe in love and they don’t want love. That’s the reason they fuck goats; what bother loving women…

  9. the spice kittens are being so cute right now. Cleaning the momma cat.

    awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

  10. It sounds like NOC is singing the Air Force song, “Off we go into the wild blue yonder.” I personally would prefer “Anchors Aweigh” seeings he’s IN THE WATER, but that’s just me.

  11. Belle, we are judged by how we treat those for which we declare ourselves “stewards”.

Mankind regards itself as steward of simply Everything. I’m afraid mankind doesn’t always do a great job at that.

  13. Aww, poor whales. I’ve seen the belugas in Vancouver BC. It is sad to see them in such small pools.

Horrible about the poor little girl. The article didn’t say if the father was arrested or not. Although I would want to get my revenge myself if I were the mother.

  14. Did anyone ever stop to think that these captive animals might just be frustrated and start to mimic “us” once they figure out humans are too stupid to learn the whales’/porpoises’/elephants’/lions’/etc… language?

Where is Spock when we need him:

  15. Aw someone is in the room with the spice cats and the mom is meowing all over the place and rubbing her leg.

  16. Hahah the tuxie is crawling up her leg.

That mother cat is really sweet.
The kits are all named after spices. lol.

  17. The allspice gang. 🙂

  18. Mom is Rosemary, then there is sage, pepper, mace and basil. Don’t know the other names.

  19. Is everybody/anybody working on Thanksgiving yet? I am currently roasting a chicken and root veggies that will become chicken soup. I am trying to get up the gumption to make the applesauce–mostly because I really need that space in the refrigerator that the apples are taking up.

  20. Hi Sophie,

I am taking my first vacation, I’ll be off all week. We have Thanksgiving off anyway.

  21. Hi Goofsmom. Vacation is good! Enjoy!

  22. Thanks… I’ve spent most of the day watching the spice kittehs!!! 😀

  23. Yeah Goofs, vacation! And what’s Goof saying about this????????

  24. John Kerry couldn’t even bring in MA for Obama in the primaries. He’s essentially useless to anybody except MA, and maybe he’s not even useful there. He didn’t even dock his new yacht there, since he didn’t want to pay MA taxes.

  25. Goofsmom, I saw how the mother spice cat went wild when her foster guy went in there. I think he should keep mom.

  26. A couple of spice kittens having the zoomies right now. Others aren’t there, foster must be doing something with them.

Wish I could X out that annoying chat flying by me, it’s very distracting.

  27. Uppity,

Goof watched it a little bit but now he wants his dinner and is ignoring it. I think Foster Dad John should keep Rosemary, she really does love him.

  28. As far as Goof and the vacation… well it’s all about meow! He has mom home to wait on him. ; )

  29. I think Noc is singing “Gangnam Style”.

  30. Yes Goofs, that cat is his now. He kept petting her and he picked her up, and she was in heaven.

  31. Uppity, you can close the chat, on the bottom of the screen there is a symbol that shows two arrows, one pointing left and one pointing right. You click on that and it closes the chat side bar. 😀

    Nasty business.

  33. Hugo, I am horrified.

  34. Yes Goofs, I figured that out. Right now Mom’s giving everybody a bath an if you use the volume, you get to hear lots of rrrrrrrrrrrrrtttt’s

  35. Hugo, hope you don’t mind if I put your comment in the post as an update.

  36. No problem, Uppity. Very disturbing set of facts.

  37. Upps, I’m w/you: “Mankind regards itself as steward of simply Everything. I’m afraid mankind doesn’t always do a great job at that.”

Like Hugo, I think animal behavior studies are useful, but I have a whole new perspective on captive exotics (i.e. birds, reptiles, small mammals) after our experience w/beloved Mango, a Goffin cockatoo.
She was a hand-reared baby, completely imprinted on the human species. We tried to give her an ideal life as far as leaving her out w/us, her human “family”, as much as we could – but also had to protect her from the other critters as well as environmental hazards.
I left her fully-flighted since she needed that ability amongst the dogs & cats – so it was heartbreaking on the night that we lost her after big stupid new dog scared her out of my hands & into the darkening woods…

I don’t think we have any business imprisoning these magnificent creatures in captivity to satisfy our warped needs to display ’em.
